ISRAEL-GAZA-US, CEASEFIRE?
As we got to discuss Friday on Liberty Conspiracy Live, Israel’s government “agreed” to the ceasefire, the first phase of which sees the IDF pull out of a small area of Gaza and is supposed to see the return of hostages being held by Hamas, hostages and “prisoners” released by Israel, and bodies returned by both sides. As AntiWar notes:
According to The Times of Israel, the approval of the deal now means that a ceasefire is in effect. However, Al Jazeera reported an Israeli airstrike and shelling in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, and attacks east of Gaza City early Friday morning.
The IDF continued to bomb Gaza on Thursday, including a strike in Gaza City that killed at least four Palestinians and left 40 missing under the rubble. The UN has said that it’s ready to surge aid into Gaza to bring relief to the starving population.Under the deal, Hamas will release all remaining Israeli captives within 72 hours in exchange for about 2,000 Palestinians held in Israeli jails. Within 24 hours, Israel will pull its troops back from some areas of Gaza, but the IDF will retain control of more than 50% of the Palestinian territory.
Dropping its demand for a full Israeli withdrawal in exchange for the release of all the Israeli hostages was a significant concession from Hamas, which says it has received a guarantee from the US that Israel won’t restart its genocidal war.
“We received guarantees from the mediators and from the US administration, and everyone confirmed that the war has completely ended. We will continue to work with all national and Islamic forces to complete the next steps,” said Khalil al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official who Israel recently tried to assassinate in Qatar.
Many details of the long-term implementation of the ceasefire deal still need to be worked out, but President Trump is insisting that he has “ended the war” and that the deal will lead to an “everlasting peace.”
According to a report from Israel Hayom, the US has given Israel a guarantee that it would back Israeli military action if it determined Hamas violated the deal in a way that “poses a security threat.” The report said the understanding “constitutes a side agreement” between the US and Israel.
The US gave Israel a similar side deal for the November 2024 Lebanon ceasefire agreement, which Israel continues to violate on a near-daily basis.”

The leadership of the Houthis in Yemen are watching, warning that if Israel does not abide by the ceasefire, the Houthis will continue to back Hamas as they have. Food, a stoppage of murder… Israel’s genocide is worth fighting. Will Netanyahu stop? LINK
AND, what about the so-called “settlers”? Over the past day, rather than the IDF attacking, many new settlers have been attacking people on the land they newly occupied in the West Bank LINK!
CONTEXT: Kyle Anzalone has a very good piece at the Libertarian Institute that reminds us of how Israel showed no practical interest in saving the hostages it now claims to have been trying to free with such dogged determination. The hostages being held by Hamas were used as a pretext for ethnic cleansing, part of the Greater Israel Project of expansion into Syria, Lebanon, the West Bank, and beyond. LINK
Hamas is expressing skepticism that Israel will abide by the second phase of the agreement, which would see a wider withdrawal of IDF forces. LINK

Palestinian militant group Hamas will skip the official signing of the Gaza peace deal in Egypt, said a senior leader, citing disagreements with parts of the proposals in Donald Trump’s plan.
Hamas leaders described the suggestion that its members leave the Gaza Strip under the peace plan as “absurd,” news agency AFP reported.
Political bureau member Hossam Badran told reporters that “Talk about expelling Palestinians, whether they’re Hamas members or not, from their land is absurd and nonsense.” He said he expects negotiations over the second phase of the plan to be difficult, because it “contains many complexities and difficulties.”

TRUMP IMPOSES 100% TARIFF ON CHINESE IMPORTS - INSANE.
TRUMP REPEATS HIS FAKE PFIZER “DEAL”, w ASTRAZENECA - a shakedown, threatening 100% tariffs on any of their imported products, but bringing the tariff level back to “Most Favored Nation” status (about 2.5%) if they agree to sell cheap to Medicare and Medicaid and build a plant in the US. That means that this is the second drug maker that already made tons of cash off the US via the COVID fascism, and which now will have to spend money to build a plant in the US, an expenditure that it would be free to avoid if Trump stopped threatening them. The “lower costs” for the gov program purchases will be passed on in higher costs to private buyers. LINK
