-In the realm of human affairs, where the sovereignty of each soul demands freedom from the coercive edicts of politicians, President Trump’s proclamation of victory in the conflict with Iran rings hollow. On Wednesday, he declared “we’ve won” the war against Iran, yet evidently, no one informed the Iranians themselves.

-When told that his own sub-agencies are admitting that US arms slaughtered 176 people, mostly small children, in Minab, Iran on the first day of the immoral US aggression, Trump simply dismissed it all with “I don’t know about it…” No acceptance of responsibility, nothing.

-Reports indicate that Iran has ignited at least two pro-Israel-pro-US ships attempting to navigate the Strait of Hormuz,

…a stark reminder that political decrees from US warmongers cannot secure passage through vital waterways. Since no presidential fiat can magically ensure the flow of oil through contested routes, the White House has announced plans to unleash 400 million barrels from assorted national petroleum reserves. This move taps into what are ostensibly emergency stockpiles, all to mitigate the entirely foreseeable fallout from a conflict ignited by U.S. actions.

First, how about a tax-funded entity NOT compete against consumers at ANY time to buy fuel and keep it locked up? Second… The “reserve” stockpile is virtually meaningless when it comes to practical use in the market and price effects. The announced release from U.S. “strategic reserves”—more precisely, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR)—involves the United States contributing 172 million barrels as part of a broader, coordinated International Energy Agency (IEA) effort totaling 400 million barrels from member nations’ emergency stocks. This drawdown aims to offset supply disruptions tied to the ongoing US-Israeli-generated aggression against Iran, and attacks in the Strait of Hormuz. Official statements from the Department of Energy indicate that the U.S. portion will begin deliveries next week and take approximately 120 days (roughly four months) to fully enter the market, based on planned discharge rates.
This timeline reflects practical constraints: the SPR’s infrastructure allows a maximum initial withdrawal rate of about 4.4 million barrels per day for up to 90 days, after which rates taper, but actual releases in recent history (including coordinated actions) have averaged closer to 1 million to 2 million barrels per day to avoid overwhelming logistics or market dynamics. At the announced pace for this 172 million-barrel release, the effective average is around 1.4 million barrels per day over those 120 days.
For context on the reserve itself, as of early March 2026 (data from the week ending March 6), the SPR holds approximately 415 million barrels out of an authorized capacity of 714 million barrels—roughly 58% full. After this drawdown, the U.S. inventory would drop to about 243 million barrels (assuming no simultaneous purchases or additions during the release period), though the administration has stated plans to replace more than the withdrawn amount—around 200 million barrels—within the next year at no direct taxpayer cost. To illustrate duration in broader terms: if one were to hypothetically apply the full 172 million barrels against average U.S. crude oil and petroleum product consumption (currently around 20-21 million barrels per day based on recent EIA (IEA) data and projections for 2026), it would theoretically cover roughly 8-9 days of total national demand.

It underscores how political commands, far from respecting the individual’s right to voluntary exchange and peaceful commerce, instead disrupt global trade and force reliance on centralized hoards controlled by bureaucrats. Tracing back to the spark that lit this conflagration, the New York Times reveals that the initial assault on a girls’ school in Tehran was, in truth, a U.S. military blunder—a so-called “targeting mistake.” As the Times notes, “Striking a school full of children is sure to be recorded as one of the most devastating single military errors in recent decades. Iranian officials have said the death toll was at least 175 people, most of them children.” When pressed on this tragedy, President Trump claimed ignorance, asserting he knew nothing of it. Such a stance strains credulity; this was the very strike that propelled the war forward, the inaugural act in a chain of violence. Surely, the commander-in-chief, whose orders propel such operations, cannot feign detachment from the consequences that trample the sacred autonomy of innocent lives.
Amid the global attention being devoted to the Iranian theater, Arab leaders are sounding alarms over Israel’s seizure and sealing of the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s gates. Last week, under the guise of threats from Iranian missiles, Israeli authorities shuttered this hallowed site in old Jerusalem—a cornerstone of Muslim devotion, particularly amid the observances of Ramadan. A joint declaration from regional leaders insists that Israel “immediately cease the closure of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, remove access restrictions to the Old City of Jerusalem, and refrain from obstructing Muslim worshippers’ access to the mosque.” One cannot help but ponder if this maneuver aligns with the aspirations of Jewish fundamentalists to erect the Third Temple upon that very ground—a development that could transmute this already grievous international strife into an unbridled clash of faiths, further eroding the individual’s liberty to pursue spiritual solace free from political impositions. In a world where each person’s soul claims sovereignty over their own beliefs and actions, such encroachments serve only to inflame divisions, reminding us that true harmony arises not from state mandates, but from the unhindered choices of free individuals.

Then, there’s the JONES ACT, which forces foreign shippers to offload their goods and have them taken by US shippers after the first US port, then on to other US ports. Insane.

BREAKING: GULF - multiple sources report that at least three commercial ships, including oil tankers and cargo vessels, were struck by projectiles—likely missiles or drones—near the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf. These incidents occurred amid escalating tensions in the ongoing Iran conflict involving the US, Israel, and regional allies. Iran has claimed responsibility for at least some of the strikes, stating they targeted vessels ignoring warnings from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The attacks have disrupted shipping in this critical waterway, which handles about 20% of global oil transit, contributing to oil prices surpassing $100 per barrel.
The US claims that its military responded by destroying several Iranian mine-laying vessels in the area. LINK LINK

• Incidents, as they appear to be, atm: The strikes happened early on March 11, with one ship (the Thailand-flagged Mayuree Naree) catching fire and requiring crew evacuation. Another, the Liberian-flagged Express Room, was halted after being hit. A third unidentified vessel was also struck

Let’s look at what the Trump-Netanyahu criminal cabal has done…
The White House seems seized by frenzy over Iran’s defensive measures disrupting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, following the aggressive strikes launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iranian soil—yet Reuters reveals that the U.S. Navy is incapable of honoring the administration’s vow to protect merchant vessels. Just days ago, President Trump proclaimed on social media that American naval forces would, “if necessary,” shepherd ships through those waters and even insure/furnish recompense for any harms suffered. Bold words are simple to post, but far harder to enact, particularly when they rely on compelling taxpayers to finance the insurance and the military interventions that also, clearly violate individuals’ rights.
As Reuters indicates, drawing from three industry sources: “The U.S. Navy has held regular briefings with shipping and oil industry counterparts and has said during those briefings it is unable to provide escorts for the time being.” In the meantime, some Trump-aligned online commentators are mocking tanker captains as faint-hearted for hesitating amid the chaos sparked by U.S.-Israeli initiation of hostilities. I’d propose those same voices take the wheel on the lead unprotected transit, themselves.
Of course, Trump’s bold pronouncement about protecting a ship came as what appears to have been an attempt to lower oil prices, and prices leveled out for a while after he posted his claim on Truth Social and X, buuuut, then, the claim was removed and debunked, and oil prices rose.
In a similar fashion, Trump heralded “a new refinery in Texas”—though credit for it scarcely fits his administration, as its debut was proclaimed in 2024, well before his re-ascendancy. The refinery in question, located at the Port of Brownsville, Texas, and now spearheaded by America First Refining (building on earlier efforts by Element Fuels Holdings announced in June 2024), only has seen site preparation completed and key permits secured last year. Full-scale construction has not commenced—groundbreaking is slated for the second quarter of 2026, meaning it’s months away from even beginning to build out the facility, let alone processing any crude oil into usable products.
Once operational—likely years down the line, given the typical timelines for such ventures—it aims to handle around 160,000 barrels per day of light shale oil…
Might one local facility offset the rupture to peaceful international trade wrought by such bellicose actions? The calculation is plain enough for anyone to discern.
Prior to the much-heralded, slightly off-truth, announcement of this new Texas refinery (again, it is NOT “starting” but is only NOW starting CONSTRUCTION)—touted as a boon for domestic production but announced well before the current administration took office—the United States had not seen a genuine new grassroots oil refinery (a full-scale facility built from the ground up with significant atmospheric distillation capacity) come online in nearly half a century. The last major new refinery constructed and brought into operation was Marathon Petroleum’s facility in Garyville, Louisiana, which began operations in 1977 with an initial capacity of 200,000 barrels per calendar day (b/cd). That plant, now expanded substantially, remains a benchmark for why large-scale greenfield refinery builds have been extraordinarily rare since then, thanks to layers of unconstitutional federal regulatory diktats, environmental permitting challenges, and local opposition that make such projects prohibitively expensive and time-consuming for private enterprise.
To take a broader view. Let’s note that a “greenfield refinery” is a new petroleum refinery constructed entirely from scratch on previously undeveloped or “virgin” land—often literally open fields or green spaces with no prior industrial infrastructure in place. The term “greenfield” draws from real estate and development lingo, where it contrasts with “brownfield” sites (previously used industrial land that may require cleanup or remediation).
Smaller or specialized facilities, such as condensate splitters or incremental additions, have appeared more recently—for instance, the Texas International Terminals refinery in Galveston, Texas, which started up in February 2022 with 45,000 b/cd capacity—but these do not qualify as full traditional crude oil refineries on the scale of pre-1980 builds. As for the current total, according to the most recent U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) data as of January 1, 2025 (with no major net change indicated into early 2026 prior to any new openings), there were 132 operable petroleum refineries in the United States, spread across roughly 30 states, with a combined operable atmospheric distillation capacity of about 18.4 million barrels per day. One solitary new facility, even if it eventually reaches full operation, will do little to meaningfully alter the broader picture of voluntary global oil markets disrupted by foreign conflicts—especially when individuals’ rights to engage in peaceful trade remain threatened by coercive foreign aggression or the domestic taxation required to sustain endless military responses. The math on offsetting widespread supply chain interruptions with one plant simply doesn’t add up. The entire concept of the US government controlling “permission” for exploration, drilling, and refining not only is unconstitutional, it is immoral, and leads to economic problems such as our current situation. This is, uh...surprising...since Trump says over and over this is a key goal. But then of course we already know air strikes can’t wipe out their nuclear material. 3/ Second, they confirmed “regime change” is also NOT on the list. So, they are going to spend hundreds of billions of your taxpayer dollars, get a whole bunch of Americans killed, and a hardline regime - probably a MORE anti-American hardline regime - will still be in charge.’

-Intel-oriented reporters and even US Senators like Richard Blumenthal are saying that Trump and Hegseth are pushing for US troops on the ground in Iran. LINK
-President Trump’s latest pronouncements on the immoral and unconstitutional U.S. aggression against Iran ring as hollow as ever, revealing a conflict that’s anything but the “easy” win he once touted. This disgusting assault—launched without congressional declaration of War, funded through tax-theft and enslavement of future generations—continues to claim innocent lives while draining American pockets through the coercive theft of taxation, all to fund a bloody escapade that’s destabilizing the global economy.
On Monday, stocks briefly surged after a CBS reporter claimed Trump described the war as “very complete, pretty much.” Yet, when pressed, he muddled through contradictions, insisting it’s both nascent and “very complete,” adding, “We’ve already won in many ways, but we haven’t won enough. We go forward, more determined than ever to achieve ultimate victory that will end this long running danger once and for all.” He dubbed it “an excursion into something that had to be done” but “we’re getting very close to finishing that.” This nonsense sounds like the vague assurances one gives kids on endless errands. Amid reports of the US allegedly contacting Iran to engage in ceasefire talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rebuffed them flatly:
“We have a very bitter experience of talking with Americans. After three rounds of negotiations...still, they decided to attack us. So I don’t think talking with Americans will be on our agenda any more.”
And why would they? The U.S. bombed Iran twice during talks and assassinated their religious leader amid Ramadan—hardly a foundation for trust. Defiance echoed in Tehran as throngs turned out in broad daylight, regardless of US threats, and celebrated new Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, signaling unyielding resistance.
Meanwhile, in Israel, the blackout of journalism is not complete. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich revealed his son was wounded in a Lebanese border clash injuring eight soldiers, with unconfirmed reports of Mossad chief David Barnea and Minister Ben-Gvir slain in strikes.
In essence, this insane war wrecks all involved—slaughtering innocents, inflating costs via taxpayer extortion, and throttling economic stability worldwide. Liberty-minded observers must decry this unconstitutional folly before more lives and livelihoods vanish. Here are some of the major issues we investigated tonight…

-In an interview with CBS News, Trump stated that the war against Iran is “very complete, pretty much” and “very far ahead of schedule” compared to his initial estimate of 4-5 weeks.
-Trump also said he does NOT LIKE the fact that the Iranian government selected a new Ayatollah, the son of the man whom the Trump recently had the US military murder. He is Mojtaba Khamenei. He lost eight members of his family to US aggression, last week. That set of innocent people includes his father (former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei), mother (Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh), wife (Zahra Haddad-Adel), son (unnamed grandson of Ali), sister (Hoda Khamenei), brother-in-law (Mesbah Bagheri Kani), and two nieces/nephews (Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani and her sibling). Trump and Hegseth both claim that the US did not wipe out 180 children with a double-tap strike to an elementary school on the first day of the so-called “war” against Iran — better understood as US/Israeli aggression against the people and government of Iran. LINK

Video of the area clearly shows Tomahawk missiles (made and used by the US) hitting buildings right beside the already burning school. This video was taken moments after the initial strikes, which were on the school. It doesn’t take a Rhodes Scholar (for what that label actually means, see Bill Clinton, but we understand the euphemism) to figure this out. Here are Trump and Hegseth, in a clip that shows Trump first claiming that it was Iran, trying to fire its own rockets, which misfired to kill those children, then, Hegseth claims that “only Iran” attacks innocent civilians. We showed the above clip in the Sunday News Assembly, but want to provide more information indicting the US megalomaniacs. FOX replaced this footage, showing, instead, footage from Trump making a similar appearance last year. Classy.

-As Jeremy Lofredo Notes, expanding on a rather obscurant report from the NYT: ‘New York Times published an article yesterday titled “U.S. Continues Airstrikes Against a Wide Array of Targets in Iran” yet the targets they chose to report on are extremely narrow. Readers are told that the strikes have hit military targets, sites affiliated with the IRGC, ammunition bunkers, missile launchers, air defenses, missile launchers, weapons depots and radar systems.’
But not the 10,000+ civilian apartments and homes, more than a dozen medical facilities, a water desalination plant, several schools and seminaries, a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and at least 3 stadiums.’ LINK Here is the NYT on it. LINK

Our friend, Martin, posted this about the Trump display, as Donald wore a silly baseball cap to present himself and his wife, the VP and his wife, to the bodies of US military aggressors killed in the US attack on Iran: “The Idiot in Chief sports a baseball cap and salutes, rather than placing his palm over his black heart.” And, by the way, Hegseth speaks as part of the initial post that inspired Martin to write. Hegseth, spouting more war-minded blather from his boastful, belligerent fracas of a fascist mind. LINK

-The economic blowback is widespread, as the 30% of world oil and 20% of world nat-gas that went through the Persian Gulf is strangled, and Iran allows only BRICS-related shipments and shipments to nations not tied to the US or Israel. -The Trump Admin and Fox are pushing a spin-phrase, “Short-term pain, for long-term gain,” as if, first, they can dictate to YOU that you should feel pain so that you can receive the blessing of their “gain”. GRANULAR DETAIL - Approximately 45-55% of India’s crude oil imports transit through the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, based on recent data from early 2026. This equates to roughly 2.5-2.7 million barrels per day from key suppliers like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait. India’s overall crude import dependence is around 85-90%, making disruptions in this route particularly significant amid ongoing Middle East tensions. Russia’s government recently warned India’s Modi that he needs to step back from further agreements with Israel… What was that about? Well, it had to do with weapons, cyber-tech, and “talent”. Israel and India this month signed 16 or 17 (depending on which report one reads) agreements covering defense co-production, critical technologies (AI, quantum, cyber), agriculture, education, and culture. A key pledge included facilitating 50,000 Indian workers’ employment in Israel over five years, alongside advancing “free trade agreement talks” and a $10 billion arms deal focusing on air defense systems. - Russian foreign Minister Lavrov soon stressed India’s need for Russian fuel. And, surprisingly, the Trump Admin lifted pressure away from India to allow for more buying from Russian exporters. This almost looks like a favor from Trump for Modi making deals with Israel. On March 5-6, 2026, the U.S. Treasury issued a temporary 30-day waiver (via OFAC) allowing India to purchase pre-loaded Russian oil stranded at sea (due to Middle East disruptions from the Iran conflict, closing the Strait of Hormuz). U.S. officials framed this as aiding global supply stability, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent noting India as “good actors” who paused but now help fill gaps. Indian refiners snapped up over 10 million barrels post-waiver, with potential to ramp volumes higher short-term (possibly toward 2 million bpd). Russia indicated readiness to divert more (up to 40% share if needed). India holds strategic reserves (~74+ days) and flexible refineries to switch sources quickly. The trade underscores multi-alignment and US deception on a public level. LINK
-In THE UK? The nat-gas situation is looking bleak, and that has a bearing on UK electricity and heat. Recent reports highlight critically low gas reserves (often discussed alongside oil in energy contexts), at around 6,700 GWh—enough for just 1.5-2 days of demand—exacerbated by Middle East disruptions and reduced storage capacity. ‘UK gas storage is critically low at just 6700 GWh barely 1.5 to 2 days worth amid Middle East tensions halving tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Oil prices spiked over 6%, and experts warn Brent could hit $100+ if it drags on. UK got diverse imports like Norway and US LNG, but we’re already Europe priciest gas market. How this gonna impact winter bills?’ LINK This will have a bearing on most industry in the UK, on UK exports, and on UK demand for US exports. Not good. - When it comes to oil/petrol, the UK is seeing higher prices, but the nation-state claims it has appx 2 years of “stored reserves”. Whether one believes that, given the nature of the lying state… You let us know what you think! This also will inspire the UK, Germany, and other European nations to get their central banks to lower interest rates, inflating their currency even more, giving Trump and Bessent the cover they want to press the Federal Reserve to lower rates even further, while the “Dollar” appears relatively stronger than the other currencies. Not good.

-FOR THE US CONSUMER? Worldwide Brent crude rose from around $1.55 per gallon (approximately $65 per barrel) in late January 2026 to about $2.40–$2.50 per gallon (roughly $100–$105 per barrel, with peaks near $110–$120) as of March 9, 2026. This represents an absolute increase of roughly $0.85–$0.95 per gallon and a percentage rise of approximately 55–60%. In the U.S., WTI crude followed a similar trajectory, climbing from around $1.45–$1.50 per gallon (about $61 per barrel) to near $2.35–$2.45 per gallon (around $99–$102 per barrel), for a comparable 60%+ increase. U.S. consumers have seen the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline jump from about $2.85–$2.90 in late January 2026 to $3.45–$3.48 (with reports of $3.20–$3.41 in early March, accelerating sharply) as of today, March 9. This equates to an increase of roughly $0.55–$0.60 per gallon, or about 19–21% so far, though further rises are expected as pump prices lag crude surges.Jet fuel prices have risen even more steeply. Al Jazeera reports on the higher-intensity Israeli murder spree in Lebanon. ‘At least 83 children killed in Lebanon in past 7 days: UNICEF. The UN agency for children, UNICEF, says at least 83 children have been killed and 254 injured in Lebanon since March 2 as the war between Israel and Hezbollah intensified. “On average, more than 10 children have been killed every day across Lebanon over the past week, with approximately 36 children injured each day,” the statement published on the UNICEF website said on Monday. “In the last 28 months, 329 children have reportedly been killed in Lebanon and 1,632 were injured,” it added.’

From X and the Office of the Prez… On X we see this: ‘TRUMP ADMIN PUTS OUT 1984 “CYBER STRATEGY” POLICY - Today the admin released a policy to “unveil and embarrass online espionage, destructive propaganda and influence operations, and cultural subversion” - So like Biden, the government will try & have a “Ministry of Truth”’ In other words, the Trumpers are pushing an Executive Branch version of the Portman-Murphy propaganda setup originally put into the 2016 NDAA under Obama. … The document is in video on the feed. LINK The fascist strategy is a 7-page document structured around “six policy pillars”, with Pillar 6 specifically dedicated to “Build Talent and Capacity.” This describes the U.S. cyber workforce as a “strategic asset” worthy of “great investment,” — in other words, federal funds sent to a “talent pipeline” that is “pragmatic and accessible,” (as defined by the government). It will fund lackeys in:

• Academia

• Vocational and technical schools

• Corporations

• Venture capital groups - especially those tied to AI, surveillance, and media

It calls for eliminating “roadblocks” to align incentives among industry, academia, government, and the military, while harnessing “existing resources, authorities, talents, and ingenuity that make America great.” This implies federal support for ideologically-aligned entities, through grants, partnerships, or incentives to expand education, training, and recruitment for cyber roles across industries. The document does not detail specific funding mechanisms, amounts, or criteria tied to ideological alignment, because it is only the initial announcement, but it implies upcoming “meetings” with “interests and stakehowlers” - I mean “stakeholders” (otherwise known as fascistically-connected mercantilists who will receive the crony funds). Broader themes in the strategy, such as “putting America first,” “countering authoritarian technologies” (e.g., foreign AI that censors or surveils), and promoting free speech and U.S. innovation, are intended to give cover to the Admin engaging in its own censorship, propaganda, pork spending on friendlies, and steering of liquidity into sectors the Exec Branch prefers. Trump, of course, frames it all as “national security imperatives” rather than conditions for funding.

Let’s open with this great, sarcastic spoof of political rhetoric re military aggression.

Trump Saturday claimed that Iran’s government apologized for firing at its Mid-Eastern neighbor nations and that the Iranian leadership promised never to “shoot at them anymore.” This pushes two false narratives wrapped inside the already-faulty assumption that the US has any legitimate say on the status or future of Iran. The first false narrative is that the Iranian government was firing on “their neighbors” when the Iranian government was targeting US bases plunked down on the soil of their neighbors. The second is that the Iranians promised never to do it again. Doing “IT’ is a deception, again, because the Iranians were attacking US bases in RESPONSE to the US attacking Iran, and it’s clear that Iran’s governmental body would be insane not to reserve the prerogative to hit US bases again, in a defensive manner. Thus, the message that Iran actually offered was one of being forced to defend against US bases, and a signal to other Middle Eastern nations to purge their lands of said bases. Despite this screen-cap being from a different episode, here are our friends, Tony, Don, and Billy Ray, the good guys of “America Unplugged” trying to make sense of Trump’s ravings.

Evidently, he hasn’t seen what the US does, all over the globe, and what Israelis have done, for decades, in Gaza. Lest we forget, also, how many innocent civilians died when the US dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan.

UPDATE: IRAN is reported to have struck back on Israeli oil depots. ‘NEW: Iran says it struck Israel’s Haifa oil refinery with ballistic missiles
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted the Bazan oil refinery in Haifa Bay on March 7 using Kheibar Shekan solid-fuel ballistic missiles.
The IRGC said the strike was retaliation for recent U.S.–Israeli attacks on Iran’s energy sector, including strikes on oil depots around Tehran.
The refinery, operated by Bazan Group, is Israel’s largest oil processing facility and supplies roughly 50–60% of the country’s domestic fuel. The site was also hit in a June 2025 Iranian missile barrage that killed three workers, injured dozens, and forced a months-long shutdown. Iranian officials said the strike was meant as response to Israeli attacks on Iranian oil storage infrastructure.’ LINK

-Scott Ritter offers a perfectly apt statement in this interview with Daniel Davis. Referring to how many Americans see the Japanese attack (goaded and done with the awareness of Roosevelt) at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Dec 7 1941 as criminal, he then observed: “Well, we just trumped that. Because what we did was, under the flag of truce, carried out a surprise attack that assassinated Ali Khamenei…”

However, at least this happened in DC… Headline: ‘AOC, Omar and other 'Squad' reps among the 53 House Dems that voted against reaffirming Iran as a terror sponsor’ - The measure in question is H.Res. 1099, a nonbinding resolution “Reaffirming Iran remains the largest state sponsor of terrorism.” It was introduced by Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) and voted on in the U.S. House of Representatives on March 5, 2026.The House passed it by a vote of 372-53 (with 2 members voting “present”), requiring a two-thirds majority under suspension of the rules. All 53 “no” votes came from Democrats, including members of “the Squad” such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley. -And yet, Trump Economic Pro-Liar Kevin Hassett (I think that’s the official title of his job, but I might be wrong) says that the economy is great… Here is the link to his appearance on TV to smile like a Cheshire Cat. LINK Here is what Aaron Rupar noted: ‘Hassett downplays a terrible February jobs report: “It’s about what we expect to be seeing because immigration has gone down by so much that the breakeven employment is probably in the 30,000 or 40,000 jobs a month range. The economy is really strong.”’
Here is what I wrote in response. “How can this man face his family at the end of the day? His lies and circumlocution are matched only by his plastic, pantomime smile. The Trumpers told us that kidnapping migrants would bring jobs to Americans, but, of course, it, as well as the insane tariffs and the price increases caused by the inflated money system, have wrought HIGHER COSTS on consumers, leaving less useable capital in consumer hands, meaning fewer chances to employ people. Trump increased tariffs so much it was the biggest tax increase in 70 years. Mr. Hassett’s only evident genius is in his ability to avoid reality.”

This is interesting. As thousands of American businesses (who are consumers, as we are) await refunds of Trump’s foolish and destructive IEEPA tariffs (and as the Trumpers use another unconstitutional statute to increase the tariff rate across virtually every market to 15%.), we find that the Trumpers are delaying repayments (which, as we mentioned last week, could cost US businesses $700 Mil per month in interest), and yet there is an easy way to refund people, a method that has been used in the past. LINK Scott Lincicome, a Cato Institute trade expert, quotes a lawyer to challenge that above-linked FT report claiming U.S. companies cannot easily recover $150 billion in tariffs ruled illegal by the Supreme Court, noting Customs’ automated refund systems handle similar processes routinely despite the scale. Let’s take a closer look…
Lincicome is spot on in highlighting that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) already has well-established, largely automated systems for processing duty refunds and overpayments — including for tariffs — even if the current scale (potentially $150+ billion from the invalidated IEEPA tariffs) is unprecedented. CBP handles refunds routinely through several mechanisms, many of which leverage the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal, an electronic system for filing, processing, and managing customs entries, corrections, protests, and payments/refunds. Key Components of the Established Refund System include:

1. Post-Summary Correction (PSC)
   For unliquidated (or recently liquidated) entries, importers can file a PSC electronically via ACE to correct entry data and request refunds for overpaid duties. This is a standard, automated process used for adjustments like misclassifications, missed exclusions, or changes in duty rates.

2. Protests (CBP Form 19)
   For liquidated entries, importers file a formal protest within 180 days of liquidation. CBP reviews and, if approved, issues refunds (often with interest). This is common for disputes over duty assessments, including when tariffs are later deemed invalid or inapplicable.

3. Duty Drawback Program
   This refunds up to 99% of duties (including Section 301 duties, as confirmed by CBP) when imported goods are later exported or destroyed. Claims are filed electronically in ACE under modern rules (19 CFR 190, updated via TFTEA legislation). While not directly for “illegal” tariffs, it shows CBP’s capability for large-scale duty refunds with matching import/export records.

4. ACH Electronic Refunds (Automated Clearing House)
   Since early 2026, CBP mandates electronic refunds via ACH for overpayments, drawback, protests, and other scenarios (per interim final rule effective February 6, 2026). Importers enroll through the ACE portal with banking details, enabling direct deposits. This replaced most paper checks for efficiency and security. Refunds for excess deposits must generally occur within 30 days of liquidation/reliquidation (19 U.S.C. § 1505), with interest accruing on delays.

These processes are not hypothetical — CBP routinely processes refunds for overpayments, tariff exclusions (e.g., Section 301), tariff stacking corrections, and drawback claims involving billions annually. Experts like trade atty David Cohen ( seen in the context of Lincicome’s post) emphasize that while the volume here is massive, the technical framework exists and operates “routinely.”
BUT TRUMP IS DELAYING
The challenge with the Supreme Court’s February 2026 invalidation of Trump’s IEEPA-based tariffs isn’t technical infeasibility — it’s administrative and political will. Recent court developments (e.g., a March 2026 Court of International Trade order directing CBP to liquidate/reliquidate entries without the tariffs, and to issue refunds with interest) push toward broader, potentially more automated relief. However, the administration has indicated delays for reviews (e.g., checking other compliance issues), leading to criticism that it’s slow-walking despite legal obligations and accruing interest costs to taxpayers (estimates of $20–$23 million per day).

- COURT STATUS - NUMEROUS JUDGES ARE TELLING THE TRUMPERS TO SHAPE UP RE DUE PROCESS… They could go further, noting the lack of any Constitutional power for the feds to be kidnapping migrants, and they could go deeper than that by recognizing the basic right to free movement and free association.
- As Politico’s Kyle Cheney notes “NEW: Federal judges have spent months ordering ICE to give detainees a chance for release in bond hearings. Now, they’re worried that the bond hearings themselves — conducted by Executive Branch immigration judges — are a farce.” LINK
-And he also reports: “Judge Neumann in Maine ordered the release of a man who was arrested by immigration authorities after placing an emergency call to help someone attempting suicide.” LINK
-And…! ‘A judge ordered the release of a man with lawful permanent resident status — who twice won bond before an immigration court — but has remained detained for 200 days because of the Trump administration’s use of a (previously) little used “automatic stay.”‘ LINK
