Buddha is quoted as saying: “However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act upon them?” It’s with this quote in mind that I’d like for all of us to focus on the word #GOALS.  I truly believe that being more intentional requires a certain level of commitment and understanding of the word #GOALS. 

We’re back at it this week, talking about that SHIFTTTTT! If you remember, last week’s Humpday Highlight was focused on Shifting our mindset. We talked about moving from the cabin into the cockpit of our own lives by shifting our mindset from Thinking to Doing and from Can’t to Can. As promised, I’d like to share a few more shifts that should be helpful to us all.

Why is it that some people seem to make anything they do seem easy, while others can't seem to manage a flicker despite having obvious talent? Research shows that it's the way we think about ourselves, and our abilities, that really make a difference. Most people live lives of quiet desperation. Most people are filled with regret at the end of their lives. Leaving too many things undone…failing to live enthusiastically or authentically…or living with no defined purpose…these are all common regrets. It’s these regrets that I wish each of us could avoid and we can do just that by living life more intentionally. So I ask: What do you want your legacy to be?

We might not think that our challenges are rooted in fear, but if we’re honest with ourselves, we’d probably realize that many of our obstacles are caused by fears and our inability to deal with them in an appropriate way. I want to offer up how commitment helps to move us in the direction we want to move in, while facing certain fears that sometimes leave us stuck!

"When you show up authentic, you create the space for others to do the same." Its with this quote in mind that we discuss what it means to BE ALL OF YOU. We discuss how just being you helps yourself and others. We touch on the Johari Window Model and how vulnerability, transparency, and integrity are tied to authenticity. We wrap up our quick talk with something for the "Strong Friend" among us. Good and bad, up and down, and everything in between...in all situations, feel free to BE ALL OF YOU!

Nick Saban, Bill Belichick, Phil Jackson, Dean Smith...What do they all have in common? WINS! Yeah, they have championships too, but they have more wins than anything and that’s what separates them in our minds. We don’t sit back and think about their coaching philosophies, or in game strategies, we only talk about their wins. Its my hope by the end of today’s Humpday Highlight you start or continue to see yourself as the all time winningest coach in your own life!

Being present is more than just a buzz word...its an ACTION. As my OG told me, you gotta be at where your feet at!
