Hi Hive family! I am back with another personal vlog!
I am absolutely loving my journey sharing life experiences here on Hive - it's been so rewarding to connect through these stories!
Here I give you a short summary of today's heartfelt (+ funny!) story (to learn more just watch the video!):
On July 25th I visited my dear OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) friend in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Hong Kong on her birthday 🎂. I brought her a cake thinking we could celebrate with candles... but double sadness struck:
She wasn't allowed to eat anything as only a few hours were left before her operation.
My "brilliant" plan to buy a lighter at the hospital's 7-Eleven turned out to be an EPIC FAIL! The staff immediately told us: "Ma'am, this is a hospital - fire hazard, po!"
I hope you enjoy my video and the photos!
Note: Maybe you have read that I am planning to leave my job es domestic helper in Hong Kong to start a food selling business in the Philippines soon. That is an opportunity to become more independent and FREE but also a high financial risk.

Hi everyone! The classic traditional and beloved Filipino sweet treat, Maja Blanca (or Maja Bance) combines coconut milk, cornstarch, and sugar to create its creamy, soft, and slightly wobbly texture, sweet coconut flavor, and tender corn kernels.
In this video, I am making Maja Blanca because my niece in the USA asked me to show her how. She really wants to learn it! When I started to make Maja Blanca for the first time, I thought it would be very difficult to prepare, but actually it's very easy and doesn't take much effort at all.
So, I really hope you enjoy the pictures and watching me make this delicious Maja Blanca (if you want to check it in YouTube just go there)!

Hi Hive! Thank you, my friends, for always supporting me!
Today, I would love to share my experience spending an afternoon at Chung Hom Kok Beach, one of Hong Kong's most beautiful hidden gems. I went there with my friend Elien, and we had such a wonderful time enjoying the stunning views and perfect weather — plus, I got to practice my swimming!
The easiest and cheapest way is to take CityBus 6 or 6X (from Central/Admiralty toward Stanley) or Bus 65 (from Causeway Bay/Wan Chai, weekends only) to the Chung Hom Kok Road stop. From there, it's a scenic 10 – 15 minute downhill walk to the beach. For a faster but pricier option, you can take a minibus (Green Minibus 16A from Stanley) or a taxi.
I really hope you enjoy watching the pictures of the beach and two beautiful girls, hehe, and also my video (if you want to check it in YouTube just go here)!

Hello Hive! Tropical Storm Wipha hit Hong Kong on July 20th, but the real challenge came Sunday morning. I had prepped three dishes for our church's birthday celebration: Lumpiang Shanghai, Afritadang Manok, and Pansit Bihon. By 7:30 AM Sunday, the storm arrived — just as I had finished cooking the Pansit Bihon.
What could I do? The Lumpiang Shanghai still needed frying! So I pressed on: cleaning my employer's space, cooking through the storm, and hoping for a miracle.
And we got one. By 5 PM, the storm passed. By 6 PM, our church group gathered to share the Pansit Bihon and freshly fried Lumpiang Shanghai. We celebrated a bittersweet farewell to a dear friend moving to Europe for her new job.
Though plans changed, nothing was wasted—and our little feast became a testament to gratitude and resilience. Enjoy this film capturing the chaos, cooking, and community that carried us through the storm.
Now I hope you enjoy the pictures and my video (if you want to check it in YouTube go here), and thank you for your endless support!

Hello Hive Friends! Today you shouldn't miss to watch my new video about making Lumpiang Shanghai featuring sayote and green beans, hehe! Have you ever tried this version? It's worth it!
Maybe you already have read my previous post about preparing Lumpiang Shanghai? Do you still remember that the ingredients were pork meat, chopped carrots, onions, garlic, salt & pepper and lumpia wrapper? This time I replaced the carrots with sayote and green beans - and believe me: it is so delicious as well ... to be eaten alone or as supplement to other kinds of food like for example Pansit Bihon or Pork Adobo!
This dish sells very well here in Hong Kong and is often served on occasions like birthdays and other parties.
The YouTube version of my video (without all the beautiful photos!) can be found here.
But now just enjoy the video and the photos of my Lumpiang Sayote!

Hi Hive friends and supporters!
For last Sunday morning I had a huge food order for a birthday party! Can you imagine that I was busy buying, preparing, cooking and packing the food already since three full days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) before the delivery date?
It was really hard and time consuming work, but I like to make food and of course it meant some very appreciated extra income!
My customers in hong Kong already know that nothing beats home-cooked Filipino food, it's so delicious, so they just want it, hehe! And apart from that it's not easy to find outside in a restaurant and expensive as well!
The different dishes I prepared were:
Lumpiang Shanghai: deep-fried vegetable spring rolls (main ingredients: lumpia wrapper & chopped carrots) - a Filipino kid favorite! It's one of my favorites too, and a kind of food which I sell very often here in Hong Kong. Even if I love its taste a lot I don't eat Lumpiang Shanghai all the time because 'scientifically' speaking, it contains too much oil and thus isn't great for our body's nutrients, hehe.
Afritadang Manok: a comforting tomato-based chicken stew with potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and sometimes green peas.
Adobong Manok: the Philippines' unofficial national dish — chicken braised in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves, and black pepper.
Pansit Bihon: stir-fried rice noodles with vegetables (carrots, cabbage), meat (chicken, pork), and sometimes shrimps. One of my all-time bestsellers!
Dinakdakan: a fiery Ilocano dish made with grilled pig’s face (ears, cheeks), liver, and brain, tossed in calamansi, onions, chili, and mayonnaise.
Puto Cheese: soft, steamed rice cakes topped with melted cheese (usually cheddar or Eden).
You can find the YouTube version of this video here.
By the way, next time I will show you a video about crispy lumpia with chayote & green beans - so stay tuned, hehe!
Anyway, here you go, guys! Watch the pics and my video, enjoy, and happy cooking!

Hi Hive! Today's post is all about my awesome fun experience with my friend Jennifer! I filmed us cooking together and having a karaoke session at her place. I am so happy to have her – we have been close friends since 2011.
How did we meet? It’s a fun story! Our employers are friends, and that’s how we were introduced. Out of all the helpers and people I have met through my employer’s circle, Jennifer and I just clicked – especially because we share the same interests! It feels like we were meant to be friends.
A while ago she invited me over for a little joyful hangout... with one condition: I had to make lunch, hehe! So, I brought chicken wings, whipped up a tasty Adobo, and added some potatoes, carrots and Chinese cabbage to it. It turned out delicious!
In the video you see me cooking and us singing karaoke. Unfortunately, the music we heared while singing is copyrighted so that I had to remove the sound in these parts of the video. For the future I will try to use some no copyright background music for our karaoke.(By the way you can also find that same video on my new YouTube channel.)
Concerning photos I add to this post I only chose some karaoke pics because the Adobo photos are already reserved for the use in the current Hive PH contest "#SarapPeroHealthy"...
Hope you enjoy watching our fun day now! 🍗🎤+

Hello friends! This is my journey... and I filmed myself. I am trying out to see if it works on Hive. For this video, I captured some fun moments from my Sunday life journey: attending the mass (but this Sunday not working as voluntary servant), then going to the market and finally spent 5 hours hiking in the nature of Hong Kong (I showed you some photos already here)!
I have been in Hong Kong since 2011, and since 2022 I have started attending church every Sunday. But before this church journey, I really loved hiking and exploring more in my life. I wanted to experience Hong Kong's beauty, so I used to hike and enjoy outdoor activities.
This marks my first Sunday hike since 2022. I am thinking about to hike more often in future again. I really missed it!
Now enjoy my journey, and thank you for watching! If you like this video, I can make more films in the future. Looking forward to it! (You can finde the YouTube version of my video here.)

Hello Hive friends! This video is about last Saturday — just another day in my life, hope you find it interesting, hehe...
I went swimming in the morning in Deep Water Bay together with a friend. I had swum out very far when suddenly I worried that the current might become too strong or that there could be sharks out there... Well, but as you see, I am still alive, writing here, hehe!
Then we ordered yummy food at a Chinese restaurant and practiced eating with chopsticks, hehe.
Afterward, I went home and cooked some delicious steaks, I know: I am always eating recently, hehe. In the evening I also prepared some food for selling it on Sunday, but that is another story.
Enjoy watching my video, I hope you have fun!

Hello Hive friends! As you already know, recently I spent a few days in Tagaytay!
As I like animals so much, a friend suggested me to visit the farm of the Hotel Kimberly.
The absolute highlight there was that since a very long time I had the opportunity again to ride a horse (I had to pay 400 pesos for 20 minutes riding), and it was so much fun and joy! I hope you like the video and the pictures!
After the horseback riding I was rather hungry so we decided to eat some yummy cake and enjoy a coffee. Just see yourself how mouth-watering the cakes in this hotel look like, hehe!
