General Hospital sees Sam McCall's (Kelly Monaco) untimely demise has left viewers and characters in shock. Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), the antagonist, administered a lethal digitalis overdose to Sam on Halloween, a fact that has remained hidden for three months. The truth finally begins to unravel this week as Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) spills the beans to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). The medical staff, including Portia, Liz, and Terry Randolph (Cassandra James), realize the connection between Sam's death and Dex Heller's (Evan Hofer) post-op death, marking a horrifying pattern on the ABC soap opera. 

GH sees Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Sam's mother, learns about her daughter's murder from Portia, raising questions about the proper channel of communication. As the news of Sam's murder spreads, the spotlight turns towards Cyrus, whose freedom seems to be on a countdown. The upcoming episodes promise an intense investigation lead by Portia, Liz, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and others, aiming to expose Cyrus' heinous acts. Justice will be served, either in the form of prison or a coffin for Cyrus.
