On this week's Get a Grip, Shane welcomes a friend of the program Brendan Porath (of Shotgun Start and Fried Egg fame) to the show to discuss something that is a big part of a golfer's life; scrambles. We discuss the good and the bad of the format, we try to fix the cheating that seems to follow each and every scramble around and we end with some questions and comments from listeners. This is a fun chat about one of the most unique formats in the game that we hope you enjoy and a big thanks to Mr. Porath for jumping on to discuss.

The pod is back this week with Claude Harmon, who is fresh off a flight from Dubai to discuss a wild year in his life. From reuniting with Brooks Koepka to traversing the globe working a LIV-heavy schedule, Claude gives great insight into what makes the best in the world the BEST in the world. Claude also tells us how much the iPhone has changed his business, how students let him know they're splitting up, and much more.
A big thanks to Claude for his time.

Golf historian Stephen Proctor joins Shane to discuss his summer in Scotland playing all 18 courses on The Old Tom Morris Trail, his move from senior editor at The San Francisco Chronicle to studying the history and birthplace of golf, and those current players that are most like the legendary Tom Morris.
As a reminder, Shane's new children's golf book, The Golfer's Zoo, is available to order at back9press.com/bacon, so grab a copy for holidays.

As for Mr. Hubbard, the PGA Tour pro hops on from Mexico to discuss his basketball career, a knife incident to the foot that nearly led to a win, his relationship with Hubs Peanuts + a lot more. Mark is one of the good guys on tour, I think you'll really enjoy this chat.

It is always a good day when Max Homa returns to the Get a Grip podcast. Max and Shane discuss the Presidents Cup, the perfectly executed post-birdie celebration on Friday, and plenty more from an epic week (and epic Max performance) at Quail Hollow. They then rehash that wild finish at the Fortinet Championship as Max picked up his fifth PGA Tour win and discuss the coolest moment of his time at the Open Championship playing alongside Tiger Woods.
They end the podcast with Max asking Shane a couple of dad questions as the Homa's are a month away from becoming parents (well, human parents ... can't forget Scotty). A big thanks to Max for the time!
Also, Shane mentioned off the top that his children's golf book, The Golfer's Zoo, is now available for pre-order. If you're interested, check it out at www.back9press.com/bacon

After the best season of his career, Justin Suh is a full-time PGA Tour member. His reward? Joining Shane in person from Napa as the PGA Tour gets going once again. Justin talks about the change in how he thinks about his golf swing, how important his sister is to his success, how many hours a day (!!) he stretches and plenty more.
Thanks to Justin for his time, as always.

Our old pal and friend of the program Joe Buck of (checks to confirm this is accurate) ESPN joined the podcast to talk his career move, the job of Monday Night Football, saying goodbye to baseball, his sneaky low handicap (almost scratch!), if we will see him on TV during the Masters and plenty more.
Make sure you watch Monday Night Football on September 12th for Broncos-Seahawks and check out Joe’s podcast, Daddy Issues. A big thanks to Joe for the chat.

The APGA Tour is at Baltusrol this week for the Cisco Invitational and I was lucky to go out and play a little golf in the pro-am and chat with two of the rising stars on the tour, Aaron Beverly and Kamaiu Johnson. We chatted about the year, the growth of this tour, the impact brands like Cisco make on players working towards the PGA Tour, and plenty more.
A shoutout to Cisco, Baltusrol, and of course, Aaron and Kamaui for the time!

On the latest Get a Grip, Shane opens the show talking about playing in the Connecticut Open and missing the cut by 1 before being joined by the great David McLay-Kidd to talk about his new project in Nebraska, GrayBull. David talks about why the Sand Hills of Nebraska is the best land in the world to build golf courses on, what golfer he envisions building golf courses for, and what's the most fun part of the process for him.
A big thanks to David for coming on the podcast.

What a week at St. Andrews! Shane checks in from the Old Course with Claire giving her full rundown of an excellent week of Open Championship golf. The two discuss Shane’s club fiasco, the Max-Tiger pairing, Rory’s Sunday and the insane close by Cam Smith. A special week in golf that we hope y’all enjoyed as much as we did.
