    Edge of your seat read!
What did you love best about The Promise?
Casey Kelleher has managed to write another electrifying, dark and twisted book. There were some surprising elements that I wasnt expecting, making for a riveting read. This book was heartbreaking on so many levels. Georgie and Marnie have had such a sad and tough life. Their mother Josie is a prostitute and a drug addict who cant seem to get it together and be the mother that her children deserve. The poor little things have witnessed some horrifying stuff that no one, much less a child should ever see. This is an extremely dark and gritty read, there are several instances of abuse and at times it was very hard to read. But what kept me going was my concern for these sweet girls, I so badly wanted them to be well taken care of.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Promise?
This book is full of suspense. With two stories getting interwoven together. This is gritty, fast paced and well written. With characters you will love and other characters you will love to hate. I found this book very hard to put down.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I was extremely happy with Javine handling Delray at the elevator scene!!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!!! I simply devoured this book! Heartbreaking, suspenseful and a gritty crime novel that had me in tears at times. Fantastic and realistic characters, especially the gusty and brave 12 year old Georgie and her younger sister Marnie.
    The Most Realistic Authentic Fiction
This is the first book where the writer has been able to tackle a difficult subject with such Authority I really wanted to leave a comment which doesn't often happen Great Book and Performance ,Cassey Kelleher has knitted together a Story that I wanted to be sure not to miss a sentence of it ,I'm headed to find another to see how consistent She Is .
    the promise
I really enjoy Casey Kelleher. good story. very well read.

What a great story. Full of intrigue and thrilling set pieces. Can't wait for the next one
    excellent narration
the narrator kept me listening for hours. exciting plot but narrator did the job excellently
    Not bad for a Teckie
Relevant story of today's mad world and the people involved in mayhem for profit, a cause & a control of all theories associated with the bad things we see on the news and media..
A well written pacy story which gives an insight to what goes on within our, their & corporate secret and not so secret services. Our "hero" is fortunate but it is fiction and enjoy the read for that!

For lovers of I Am Pilgrim
I was recommended this after reading I Am Pilgrim and it didn't disappoint. Felt engaged with the story and characters early on, and the performance is first class.
As with all thrillers of this nature it's perhaps hard for it to be truly original in its plot and ideas, but it doesn't matter
    Read it. Enjoy it
    Brilliant.
Very well read and it had me hooked from chapter 1. I highly recommend it.

Alice has lost her powers and her nemesis is getting stronger, but it's hunt or be hunted.
Alice is in hiding. Holed up in a magically-protected house without her main weapon, the supernatural bounty hunter wants nothing more than to hunt Nyx down before she becomes prey herself. But her enemy is in hiding too, and if Alice is to find her she'll have to get past the dangerous Pain Children first. The Void Weaver is the second book in the Half-Lich series, a set of Urban Fantasy Paranormal Thrillers. If you like intriguing characters, supernatural monsters, and sizzling chemistry, then you'll love Dignam and Martinez' next thrilling installment that draws comparisons to Ella Summers, Ilona Andrews, and Patricia Briggs!

    Void Weaver
With Nyx on the loose, Alice has gone into hiding after losing her powers and is holed up in a magical safe-house. At the safe-house, we get to meet Cameron, who is one heck of a character. He's a gentle giant that quickly becomes part of Alice's close-knit group.
The Pain Children are some really nasty creatures. They each have their own crazy aspect that makes them quite deadly - and when they gather together - they are a near unstoppable force. No one knows what Nyx's goal is other than to cause havoc and pain. And that's just what she's doing.
Alice struggles to find her powers and learn how to harness them in new ways. Isaac is forced into an otherworldly battle that may cost him his soul. But if he wins, then he will emerge with a new power from a plane no one really knew how to access before. This battle was quite intense, but not in a physical way. Isaac is put to a moral and emotional test that really gives the reader a look into his past and what makes him tick deep inside.
All these events will come together in quite a fantastic way. New powers, new factions, and show-down with some really nasty baddies make this book a great read.
The Void Weaver grabs you from the prologue and doesn't let go!
The Void Weaver is the second novel int he Half-Lich Trilogy. I'm crazy about the main characters since book one. The relationship development between the original two and two new characters in The Void Weaver was really well done. Superb flow from book one to book two. The verbal imagery from these authors really pulls you into each scene. I could see, taste, smell everything that was written. Powerful use of metaphors that were completely original. Best Urban-Fantasy Writing Team Ever.
    Simply Amazing!
The writing duo of Dignam and Martinez is spectacular. In this latest instalment of An Ashwood Novel, The Void Weaver. This is a wonderful continuation that picks up a week after Dark Siren ended.
New characters are introduced and everyone has their own place and fit beautifully into the plot of this book. Alice finds herself in an odd predicament and missing her trustee side kick Trapper.

Simenon's stylish and sensual psychological thriller weaves a story of cruelty, reckless lust and relentless guilt.
    Critic Reviews:
"One of the greatest writers of the 20th century.... Simenon was unequaled at making us look inside, though the ability was masked by his brilliance at absorbing us obsessively in his stories." (Guardian)
    "A supreme writer...unforgettable vividness." (Independent)
    Members Reviews:
Simenon, a genius. The blue room is psychological space.
Beautifully narrated, this masterpiece by Simenon depicts what guilt truly means. What horrors are in store in common places. Though a tad less of a psychological work than Simenon's other roman novel, Dirty Snow. Without spoiling anything, this one is a grim and gripping tale of a man and his psychology. It's fantastic.

This item was listed as second hand in good condition available from Chapitres in France. I received the book within a week, and it was in excellent condition - I would have said 'almost new.'
As for the story itself, I'm a beginner level french speaker, and this is to 'push' my skill level; but the film based on the book, I really enjoyed, and so far I'm enjoying reading the book itself.

I Keep Loving the Harry Starke Series
    Review
What marks the Harry Starke books above many a P.I. series is that each book is so different to the other. Theres nothing run of the mill about this series, it never gets stale, and in this book we see yet another side of Harrys complex character.
Retribution begins with so much happiness, Harry, August, his father, Rose his stepmother and Amanda his fiancee are at the country club. Rose pushes Harry and Amanda for a wedding date, Harry surprises them all with not only a date, but also, actual wedding plans. A great celebration is arranged and everyone is over the moon.
Not for long though, when Harry is told the terrible news of his brothers death he puts life on hold. He vows to find the murderer.
His quest for retribution results in his life and the lives of his family and staff being put in great danger. To avenge his brothers death Harry and his team of two face seemingly impossible odds, there is a lot of gunfire and theres violence aplenty. What follows is a dangerous, exciting and nail biting adventure.
How the heck does he get out of this one?
Yes, there is a lot of violence in this book but it is balanced out with some tender and moving moments as the family bonds are strengthened in their time of grief.
To get the full back story on Harry and all the other characters it is well worth reading the earlier books in this series
Narrated by Tom Lennon who, once again, succeeds in bringing Harry and all the characters to life. Most audiobook fans agree that a good narrator adds an extra dimension to a story thereby making it that much more enjoyable, and Tom Lennon excels in doing just that. Top job Tom!
Great book Can't wait to listen to all of series
One of the best books I've ever read!
This is by far one of the best books I've ever read or listened to. It was beautifully written and artfully read, but most importantly, it was as if It was speaking right to my heart! I can't stop recommending this book to everyone I know!
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review."
    Harry's My Kinda Guy!
Crime stories and private eye novels are not what I usually listen too, but some thing about the blurb caught my attention , so I thought I'd give this audiobook a try.

If the good guys can't save you, call a bad guy.
When viral video of an explosive terrorist attack on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge reveals that a federal witness long thought dead is still alive, the organization he'd agreed to testify against will stop at nothing to put him in the ground.
FBI Special Agent Charlie Thompson is determined to protect him, but her hands are tied; the FBI's sole priority is catching the terrorists before they strike again. So Charlie calls the only person on the planet who can keep her witness safe: Michael Hendricks.
Once a covert operative for the US military, Hendricks makes his living hitting hitmen...or he did until the very organization hunting Charlie's witness - the Council - caught wind and targeted the people he loves. Teaming up with a young but determined tech whiz, Cameron, on the condition she leave him alone after the case, Hendricks reluctantly takes the job.
Of course finding a man desperate to stay hidden is challenging enough without deadly competition, let alone when the competition's shadowy corporate backer is tangled in the terrorist conspiracy playing out around them. And now Hendricks is determined to take the Council down, even if that means wading into the center of a terror plot whose perpetrators are not what they seem.
    Critic Reviews:
"Explosive and timely.... Holm expertly balances weighty issues of national security with more intimate personal losses, and makes it clear that the best stories happen in the gray area between good and evil." (Publishers Weekly)
"A fast-moving novel... Entertaining.... Readers will root for Hendricks, even though he's on the FBI's Most Wanted list, because he has a more solid moral code than your average murderer. A good choice for thriller fans." (Kirkus Reviews)

Captivating story and narration. Story locations are described in vivid detail. Character development is thorough and complete.
    So Spastic
Random story lines that didn't seem to fit very well together. It was disappointing. Narration was on point, though.
    New narrator ruined it
