    Title: Evermeet
    Subtitle: Island of Elves
    Author: Elaine Cunningham
    Narrator: Kirby Heyborne
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 18 hrs and 14 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-08-13
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 43 votes
Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Epic
    Publisher's Summary:
Although Evermeet seems to be a monument to the strength and solidarity of the elven people, its history is one of conflict. At the heart of its story is Amlaruil, Queen of All Elves. When Evermeet comes under attack, her sacrifice holds the last hope of saving the elven homeland. A classic fantasy centered around the clash between good and evil in a beautiful, magical, and romantic land.

    Fantasy Pulp Fiction?
The book weaves stories in and out over and around in a way where you cross the same event in time from multiple different points of view. This works, kinda like Pulp Fiction in away if you aren't expecting it at first it's a little unbalancing.
A dozen stories of a dozen elves
Would you listen to Evermeet again? Why?
Evermeet takes a but of an unusual approach to telling its story. It is almost an anthology of short stories covering the long history of the elves of Evermeet and dozens of its important figures with all their hopes, dreams, plots, love, betrays, triumphs and failures. It is not for the uninitiated into the Forgotten Realms but for a fan this is a fantastic look at the history of the Realms from the perspective of Evermeet's elves. Each story is great fun, but slightly uneven with some getting a lot more time to develop their character's then others. It makes a great companion piece to Cunningham's Songs & Swords books which I recommend you read first as this story references some of the character and events from that series. In the end it is fun read and a solid read if you enjoy the D&D style of fantasy novels. I would absolutely listen to it again whenever I read through/listen to my collection of Forgotten Realms novels.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lolth has long been a distant threat in the Forgotten Realms but this is the first book that really dives into her character and give back story and context to the spider queen. I wish the books had been able to spend more time getting into her character and how she changed from Arrashuni into Lolth but with it covering so much history sadly we only get small snippets of Lolth's history and schemes.
Have you listened to any of Kirby Heybornes other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to Kirby Heyborne read before but he did top notch work with a large and constantly changing cast.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No since it jumps forward to different characters and different time it had some natural breaking points where I turned off the audio novel and saved the rest for another day.
    Any additional comments?
While I don't think this is the best of Cunningham's D&D novels, it still features her signature style of likable character you can get into quickly and sinister villains and even manages to fit in a few more complex, morally grey character along the way. Sadly stuck on the rails of the forgotten realms last history, sometimes great characters and epic events a swept aside or skimmed over since their fates were details elsewhere in the forgotten realms series which sometimes hurts the story.

    Do not purchase
The story in this book might be ok but the performance is so awful I had to stop listening. Truely awful don't waste credits on this.
Worst book I've read on Audible.
I really wanted to enjoy this book. Really, a friend gave it to me decades ago and I have been wanting to read it for years. I could not follow the story. 12 hours later I don't know what happened at all in the book. The reader did have some good voices and reads well hence 2 stars instead of one.
A book I loved in childhood!
Where does The Magic of Krynn rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    Great!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Magic of Krynn?
My favorite story in the collection will always be "The Legacy"
What does William Dufris bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
He does a great job of giving every character a distinctive voice!
    the narrator ruins it
This is a book of short stories. The stories are alright, but the narrator ruins it. I had to listen at 1.5x because of the narrator. He reminded me of a bad ghost story teller that I listened to when I was a kid sitting around a campfire. I'm half way through and I dont think I can make it through the rest of the book. If you're a hard core Dragonlance fan you might be able to overlook the bad narration if you listen at 1.5x, but I doubt it.
    Worst Dragon Lance book ever!!
This was by fair the worst written book of the series thus far. It is a collection of short stories that have been poor matched and are in no real order. Pick any other dragon lance book and save your credit!

it was a great book. each book revolves around each of the chat. this one is about the mind bender August and his Ally's on their quest for the darkkens.
    Continuing a good introduction
    Any additional comments?
A wonderful introduction the world of Athas. All five of Denning's books, read by the talented Ray Porter do a good job of wetting your appetite for the world. Sadly, the other eight books in the older Dark Sun series have yet to be released on Audible. I recommend that fans of the series, old and new, get these audio editions. Hopefully it will encourage WotC and Audible to release the remaining books, and have readers as talented as Mr. Porter.

    It is Acceptable Pulp
Where does Marked for Death rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
This finished in the middle of all the audiobooks I have listened to so far.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The ending is a good cliff hanger.
What does Claire Christie bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Clair Christie is a great voice for this. Her voices for all the characters are significantly different and appropriate in the audio description of the character. In addition her voice has great emotion in it..
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A murder mystery turns into a chase through the Mournland.
    Any additional comments?
There are a few things I can say about this. First, it is a good pulp novel. Mark of Death has quite a few interesting twists and surprises that keep it interesting. Second, it introduces you some of the religions, races, nationalities and geography I have not read about in other Eberron books. Its explanation and presentation of them is excellent. Third the pace starts out well but drags out the final scene too long. Finally, it ends quietly and not in a big climax. This leaves you satisfied but not thrilled. Also, you are anticipating, but not excited to read the next book.

it was a very interesting story
it was a good story but I was surprised that it was a Forgotten Relams novel it didn't have the forgotten relams feeling to it but all in all it was a good book.
    CLIFFHANGER
This book is an epic listen a great beginning to a wonderful Empire series this book pairs with the likes of RA Salvatore writings. David Cook produces and wonderful story worth reading more than once Robin blood worth reading is captivating and enticing download the book take a listen and enjoy
    Painful
What would have made Horselords better?
I felt like I was in a running nightmare and my legs kept getting heavier and heavier. The faster I ran the slower I went. This was painfully slow. It was like a soap opera, you could miss a weeks worth of watching and feel like you didnt miss anything.
The book was full of continuous superfluous descriptions of wardrobe, facial expressions, and descriptions, but lacked any depth of character definition or complexity of plot. There was very little plot, action, suspense, and very little of the D&D experience.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not the next book in the series
What does Robin Bloodworth bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
    He does a good job
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Horselords?
    Not cut anything just reworked

    Excellent Product
    Love it works great!
    No Surprises
I usually laugh out loud when reading about Kender & Gnomes, sadly I only chuckled once or twice & the other srories were predictable.
    Decent but a tad disappointing
I picked up this book expecting a bunch of stories about well, the search for magic, but instead they're only a handful and the other stories are about kender and gnomes (which isnt necassarily a bad thing).
But the stories themselves are decent enough and the gnome stories, as always, are hilarious.
I would recommend this only to dragonlance fans.
    Umm.... Yeah
After reading some of the other tales and short stories, I found this boring. Like others have said, there are only a few stories about the search for magic and the use of the magical items, well, ones that had power left in them anyway. i found it dissappointing. I've read better
    Not bad
I was hoping for more, but it was pretty good though.Leaves you with questions, but alright.Try it, you will enjoy it.

Though the fate of the world does not hang in the balance, theirs certainly does. Five Stars
Came as described and am very happy with purchase.
    Conundrum
My son has been asking for this book for a long time. Once it arrived, he read it from cover to cover, with many belly laughs. He said it was a classic gnome story.
    Loved it...
This was a thoroughly enjoyable novel, and a great addition to any DL collection. While some die hard fans may find some inconsistancy between the Conundrum in this book vs. the Conundrum in Weis & Hickman's War of Souls Trilogy, I didn't find anything worth throwing a temper tantrum over. If anything, this book will make you want to pay more attention to Conundrum when he appears throughout the War of Souls Trilogy. Jeff Crook has a great knack for Gnomish humor. As some of the situations the crew of the MNS Indistructible run into make others laugh out loud (or run for cover), the predominantly Gnomish crew takes their scientific expeditions very seriously, making it even funnier. Their Chief Engineer is also their Mishaps Guild representative!
I stopped reading DL novels a few years back but the War of Souls trilogy and books like Conundrum are bringing me back to Krynn. Kinda like visiting an old friend.
The book that drew me in...
This was the first Dragonlance novel I had ever read. It was the cover art that attracted me to this book (...a stupid reason to decied to read a book, huh?). I knew nothing about the characters, their history, or the World in which they lived, but I decied to give it a chance.
Quickly (much too quickly) I became emotionally attached to most of the characters in this book; those foolish, scatter-brained, bumbling Gnomes, the very child-like yet irrepressably curious Kender. They all drew me into the story, and kept me interested in what would happen to them next- all the way to the last page.
Give this book a chance, you won't regret it...
    Great read
A very simple read . If you are at all interested in the Dragonlance series this is a book for you to check out

    An Epic tale!
A fantastic read. The writing and Narration were very colorful and relatable. A wonderful story that has left me enthralled in this Haven Series. A must read or listen.
    Interesting story, but week flow
Would you try another book from B. V. Larson and/or Mark Boyett?
Of course, the Star Force series is a personal favorite
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
There are gaps in the storyline and some interaction between characters just don't flow very well. I would suggest in future that this be improved upon to help the flow of the story should more books be written.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Mark Boyett helps make the book work despite some storyline issues. Anyone else might have impaired the book further, so I was pleased with his performance.
Could you see Shadow Magic being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
    Not in it's current form.
    Any additional comments?
Seems like B.V. was branching out into a line of books he might not normally write. So I give him good marks for another effort to please his fans.
    It finally comes together...
Would you consider the audio edition of Shadow Magic to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print versions of any of Larson's books. So I can't comment.
What about Mark Boyetts performance did you like?
Mark Boyett does a great job. While I still hear him as Kyle Riggs from the Star Force series he does a good job with all of the Larson books he narrates. While I feel his range has limits and he reuses voices throughout the books he narrates it doesn't take too much away from this series and after three books I can't hear anyone else doing these.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The battle at the end. It was more classic Larson than the rest of the series, although I did feel like it could have used more.
    Any additional comments?
After the first two books in this series I almost didn't continue on to the third. I really like the Star Force series and Larson's new Undying Mercenaries is growing on me. But this just felt like it fell flat. Short books, not much character detail, plot lines that don't go anywhere and seem disconnected. But in this book things started to come together and make sense. You really started to get a sense of who the characters are and what their purpose in this world is. I can safely say after this one I'll see the series to the end.
As a plug if you haven't listened to Star Force give it a go. You won't be sorry.
