Going from 0 - 0.1 is even harder. Just beginning is tough.

Let's talk about how I'm experiencing this right now with my super secret Twitter account.

Visual Twitter is exploding right now: people are setting up accounts everywhere that are mostly made up of visuals.

I think it’s one of the most positive trends to happen to twitter in the 12 years I’ve been using it.

I want to show you how to start your own visual account (even if you’re not a designer), why you should, and what you can learn from Visual Twitter even if you don’t fancy it.

Some of you may remember I decided to start podcasting daily again.

It’s been 2 weeks now so I thought it was about time I gave you a bit of a review.

What can you learn from creating something every day?

Every second there’s around 6,000 tweets written on Twitter. That’s 350,000 tweets per minute, 500 million tweets per day and 200 billion per year.

That’s a lot of tweets.

Trying to make your 1 tweet stand out amongst 6,000 is hard. Trying to make your 1 tweet stand out amongst the other 350,000 that got posted that minute is even harder.

So what do you do?

In short: create a value tipping point.

I have a theory I want to share with you. 

It’s quite controversial.

Here it is: I don’t think it’s a good idea to grow your Twitter account quickly.

I think it’s better to grow true fans slowly than creating followers at all costs.

Let me explain why.

When I say the N word people shudder.

Niche.

Other than talking about invoicing, niche is one of the only words I can say to my clients that makes them nervous.

They look at me funny. Like I’ve just asked them to sell their babies or kill their dog.

I don’t want you to sell your babies or kill your dog. Or any other animal for that matter.

I want to talk to you about nests, anvils and feathers.

How many times have you said any of these things? 

“I have no ideas”?

“My mind has gone blank”

My personal favourite is: “I just can’t think of anything to say”.

I call it Blank Page Syndrome (so do other people—I didn’t invent the term).

It really annoys me when people say “I have no ideas”. It shouldn’t annoy me I _know_, but it does. It annoys me even more when I say it _to myself_.

Why does it annoy me more than the last season of Game of Thrones?

The simplest reason is: you saying “I have no ideas” isn’t true. 

It’s never true.
