Chuck Becker is a retired Lieutenant from the Pomona Police Department. He worked for 30 years in law enforcement and has experience as a SWAT Commander. Chuck and I have umpired college baseball together over the years, but we also have a few connections that show just how small the world can be.

Scott Root is an NCAA football Referee in the Big Sky Conference. He will discuss his path to get to Division 1-AA (FCS) and share some stories from his time on the Gridiron. Scott has been officiating football for nearly 30 years and is a proud member of the Foothill Citrus Football Officials Association. We will also talk a little baseball with Scott in regards to his coaching days at the high school level.

Billy Haze is a two time College World Series umpire (2016 & 2019). He is also the assignor for the SCIAC, GSAC, and Cal Pac conferences out here in the west. Additionally, Billy runs the Black & Blue Umpire Camps and has helped multiple guys advance to various levels of college baseball. We will talk about his umpire journey and discuss the challenges for college baseball moving forward.

Bill happens to know a lot of those who were involved and breaks down two very wild real life stories. One involves a Sheriff Deputy falling in love with a murderer. The other is about one of the biggest bank robbery shootouts in California history.

Mike Salas has been officiating high school basketball for a long time. He officiates women's college basketball as well. Mike is a life long Rams fan and has been a season ticket holder since they returned home in 2016. He is also a huge Dodgers fan and an avid golfer. Mike has a great passion for sports, but above all, he is most proud of his three daughters.
