Trent Tcheng is the Director of Recruiting for the San Gabriel Elite Volleyball Club, one of the top club teams in all of Southern California. He is also the Head Coach at Flintridge Sacred Heart and has worked throughout the sports industry with a wide range of experience. Trent has contributed behind the scenes previously to Cal State Fullerton Baseball, USA Track & Field, and the Kansas City Royals. His love of sports has taken him on quite the journey, and he also spent some time competing in Debate during his time in college. Trent discusses what it takes to make it in SG Elite and how girls volleyball has really taken off the past few years.

On this special episode I recognize the anniversary of D-Day and offer my thoughts on why June 6, 1944 is so important to remember. My challenge is that each of us should show just 1% of the courage that those brave men displayed when they stormed those beaches that day. I also vent about the concept of "unintended consequences" and why it means you weren't paying attention in the first place. Other topics include gamesmanship vs cheating, only certain humans being allowed to show human emotions, and solely taking notice of negative traits. There has been over 100 college baseball playoff games throughout the past 4 days, and I would argue that it just might be on the medal stand of annual postseasons in sports. In the bottom of the 9th segment, I translate why the phrase "rabbit ears" is used on the baseball field and why it is actually ridiculous. In addition, I define what a bunt is and why are you called out for fouling one off with 2 strikes. 

Bill Barnes makes a surprise return to the show after a lengthy hiatus! He picks up right where he left off five months ago by sharing his strong opinions on the daily chaos and calamity occurring around the country. Random topics today include Bill's tactical breakdown of law enforcement in the Uvalde murders, his first crush growing up, recent interactions with a few celebrities, and voting out those who hurt your life. Bill also tells some stories from his days as a Police Officer that are both serious and humorous. He continues to vent about high gas prices, masks, and gun control. We have missed Bill Barnes and are excited he has graced us with his presence.

I recap a long Memorial Day weekend with plenty of random topics. We indulged in some amazing food which included a backyard BBQ and a new brand of healthier cookies for the oven. I discovered a very interesting new TV show called "The Food That Built America" which combines two of my favorite topics. I also watched many innings of college baseball as the conference tournaments started off what should be a very promising postseason. We have witnessed multiple tragedies the past few weeks, and I have some thoughts on the various reactions from politicians and public figures. In the Bottom Of The 9th segment, I explain what the only two types of Umpire Interference are and translate the phrase, "0-2, BBQ."

JT Parker is the Head Coach for the Rio Hondo Prep baseball program. He led the Kares to their first CIF Southern Section Championship in school history back in 2019. JT is also a talented singer who has traveled all over to perform on stage with various musical groups. In addition to coaching multiple sports at RHP, he directed the school musical this year and helps lead the worship songs at Kare Youthchurch on Sundays. JT looks back at his time growing up in Kare Youth League and those who've had the most influence on him. He shares his vision for the future of RHP Baseball and talks about his incredible parents.

Kyle Corral is the Site Director for Kare Youth League in Upland, CA. He was instrumental in KYL expansion over 15 years ago with his unmatched passion for building character in young children through sports. Kyle was also a big part of a special era in Rio Hondo Prep Baseball where the Kares were incredibly close to a CIF Title in three straight years but fell short each time. He chats about the current state of KYL and how the organization has rebounded well from the obstacles over the past few years. Kyle and his family have a big announcement about owning a new local establishment that will feature some amazing tasty treats.

Chris Albaugh has had an amazing career as a Public Address announcer in college and professional sports. You will recognize him as the current voice of Cal State Fullerton Baseball and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in Minor League Baseball where he has been a fixture as the eye in the sky for many years. Chris has previously worked fulltime for the Oakland Raiders and Lake Elsinore Storm while also filling in occasionally for the LA Clippers, LA Dodgers, and Anaheim Angels. He loves all sports but is most passionate about the great game of baseball for its uniqueness and traditions. Chris and I worked together in the booth for countless games when I was a game operations assistant, and we have been great friends who share a similar outlook on appreciating the atmosphere of athletic competition.
