With only 2 matches announced for World War 3, this go-home episode of Thunder does the heavy lifting to get people excited for 60 men inside 3 rings only on PPV! Does it succeed? Not really, no. The two factions of the nWo collide when Konnan faces The Giant in the main event.

Thunder heads to Virginia for it's first live show since Halloween Havoc and they make up for the pre-taped dud from last week. Eddie Guerrero wrestles Rey Misterio Jr. as he continues to try and recruit Misterio into the LWO. Konnan drops a music video for his first single "Psycho." The NWO Black and White are united again when they come out in support of Horace, Scott Hall, and Scott Steiner. Booker T makes his return to Thursday night. But the biggest news that the commentary fixates on is that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan is planning to announce his candidacy for president as a reaction to Jesse "The Body" Ventura winning the governorship of Minnesota.

In the aftermath of Halloween Havoc '98, this pre-taped Thunder did the biggest rematch in the history of wrestling no favors calling the PPV and the Nitro that followed it the "greatest 48 hours" in the history of professional wrestling. This episode features zero members of the nWo Wolfpac although we do get to see Scott Hall's new vest. Sonny Onoo courts Ernest The Cat Miller. The midcard steals the spotlight with matches between Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho and Disco Inferno, and Kidman and Chavo Guerrero Jr. The Giant and Raven face off in the main event but they do not get the Michael Buffer treatment.

With 3 days left until Halloween Havoc and the biggest rematch is wrestling history between "Hollywood" Hogan and The Warrior, does this go-home show give us Warrior on a Thursday night? Ric Flair is back on Thunder and this time it's with the newly reformed 4 Horsemen and, boy, did these wheelin' and dealin' sons of a gun have something to say. Yeesh! Just yeesh. If you're in a crowd while someone admits to multiple crimes, don't cheer them. Saturn wrestles a non-Flock member for the first time in what seems like forever. Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Disco Inferno wrestle in a #1 contenders match for the WCW Cruiserweight title. Norman Smiley and Alex Wright have themselves a very competent and technical match that the crowd is not here for. Goldberg defends the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the main event against Kanyon.
