    Addictive story.
My only issue is that it's too short. it might work for books, but with audiobook they could have compiled these as chapters...
    The Minus Faction, Episode 1
Overall this was a pretty good story and was presented very professionally by the narrator. I enjoy books less when they are laced with profanity. On that note, it could have been worse. Still, there is Episode 2!
The main character, CPT John, has a unique power and a secret he must hide at all cost. You don't want to miss it.

Its the story of the blisteringly intelligent computer programmers behind the rise of these bots. And its a timely warning that as artificial intelligence gradually takes over, we could be on the verge of global meltdown.

    interesting read
Absolutely worth its cost and time. Well written and well narrated.
The book definitely gives better understanding of how global markets work these days
    Much better than Flash Boys
As a participant in the field of automated trading over the last 15 years, I found this far more balanced, interesting, accurate and less emotive than "Flash Boys".
    Educational insight
An interesting insight into the very technical world of quant trading that so many retail day traders struggle to understand. A great read if you know nothing of algo trading.
An excellent piece of research into the matter
Well written and full of details about ever aspect of algo trading. As a trader I found it very well placed and not full of the usual marketing hype included in such books
    Fantastic book and narration
interesting story, really well written and researched. this is as good as the flash boys. thought the narration was excellent

    Publisher's Summary:
Three years have passed since Edward Schuett woke up in an abandoned department to find that the Zombie Uprising has come and gone while he has been a zombie for 50 years. With the help of his gun-toting friend Rae and the scientist Dr. Bloss he has established Seven City, a colony for Z7s like himself that were once considered the walking dead but now look and act human. They live in secret, knowing the outside world will look on them with fear and panic if it discovers they exist. Then they discover Sandra Wolfe. A rebellious teen, she is a Z7 but different. She is more feral and less in control of her Z7 powers.
Her presence couldnt have come at a worse possible time, as Dr. Bloss has just died, leaving no one else who understands what might be wrong with her. Even worse, someone from the outside has finally discovered their colony. The world is about to know who they are and what they are capable of doing. Now various outside forces are looking in on them - a mysterious man working for a shadowy government agency, a group of diplomats trying to negotiate with Seven City, and a nearby town with a religious hatred for all zombies. Edward and Rae must get a handle on Sandra quickly or else she might accidentally turn the world against them all - and cause irreparable damage to everything Edward has worked for.

    Read the first one first
This is definitely a continuation of the first book so, if you haven't read The Reanimation of Edward Schuett, read that one first. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Wasn't sure how the story was going to be strung for another book (much less two), but Mr. Goodman keeps coming up with new twists and this novel is almost as fun as the first. Definitely worth reading if you're a zombie "enthusiast."
    Meh
I really liked the first story in this series. However, it almost felt like this one was written by someone else. I was not a huge fan of the narration either. I didn't like Sandra Wolfe as a character and overall, just don't like the direction that this 2nd book is taking the story. Unsure if I will continue to the 3rd or not. I didn't think this was a good follow up to Edward's story and was disappointed overall.
    Pleasantly surprised with this one
Pleasantly surprised with this one. It has a Sci Fi twist that goes very well with the zombie apocalypse.
Sandra is just like any other girl that just woke up. Except for the fact that she looks like a zombie and smells. And she can do things other survives of the zombie plague cannot even think of two weeks after waking up, much less two hours!
Whats interesting about this is that people really do not know why they woke up. They have memories of when they were human but cannot really remember turning zombie. Or can remember just a few glimpses that horrify them too much to delve into. The majority of the population still hates zombies, obviously) so the Z7s are in hiding, worried what the world will think of them.
Then Sandra comes in. Her abilities are far beyond what anyone has every seen. Shes just a teenaged girl that is confused and upset. And frankly doesnt know how to make good decisions. This is one of those books where I was a tad worried how far the author was going to take the drama. There is just so much of it! It all makes sense though and surrounds Sandra and her abilities.

    Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Sci-Fi: Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
Nicholas Lyndhurst and Vicki Pepperdine lead the cast of the BBC Radio 4 sci-fi sitcom set on a shiny new planet, as it returns for a second series.
With the leader of the interplanetary colony expedition dead, his Number 2 - Brian - is now in charge. He's a nice enough chap, but his desire to sort things out with a nice friendly meeting infuriates the colony's Chief Physician Lillian, who'd rather everyone was walking round in tight colour-coded tunics saluting each other. She's also in charge of Project Adam, the plan to conceive and give birth to the first colony-born baby.
Adding to the joie de vivre are an entirely unscrupulous Chief Scientist and an idiot maintenance man, who believes he's an "empath" rather than a plumber.
In these six new episodes the contents of Lillians freezer threatens to make the colony's men unnecessary for ever more; a dangerous snuffly cold is let loose; a pub quiz and a talking yam spell disaster; election time arrives; the discovery of a poet amongst the colonists sets off trouble; and a dangerous search-and-rescue mission is launched on the planets surface. Also featuring Tom Goodman-Hill, Phil Whelans, John Dorney and full cast.

Can not wait for the next one.
An exellent scifi story from BBC. Very good actors and a nice story. This is how it would be to start over on a new planet.:-)
This series hits its stride in Season 2!
Would you listen to My First Planet again? Why?
Yes. It's a funny premise and the characters are really getting into their personalities.
What was one of the most memorable moments of My First Planet?
The talking yams episode is one of the funniest episodes I've ever heard.
Not as good as series 1, but still OK
Other reviewers have commented that this series is an improvement on Series 1, but I don't really agree -- there isn't enough new material to distinguish it from Series 1. It's not bad, but "inept spaceship crew" isn't a new idea. Series 1 introduced new characters and situations into this venerable format, but Series 2 is really more of the same. It's competently written and performed, as we should expect, and it's witty in places. However, I found myself not really caring whether I listened to it all or not, which isn't a good sign.
LOL funny! A brilliant show with great characters
An expedition out in space has its toothing problems which makes an excellent listen.Nicholas Lyndhurst stars as Brian, the reluctant commander,.
    Series 2 better than 1
Characters and writers really started to get sorted out in this series. Series 3 should be better still.

I would have given it 5 stars, but.....
    Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book. Up until right before the end, I was going to give it 5 stars. Something that I'm so tired of hearing in post apocalyptic books, is sadistic torture of women. It was just a small bit in this book, but still, it was there and it could have been left out. It brought nothing to the story.
This isn't a zombie book. It's more like "28 Days Later" except the enraged crazies rip out their eyes and then try to kill everyone.
I'll be continuing with the series, but I'll take it one book at a time. I'm a little hesitant to spend money on the next few books. So I'll be getting the next book on Kindle, since it's only an hour long audiobook. If that goes well, I'll go ahead and spend the money on audiobook 3.
    Good Book; INCREDIBLE Reader
Would you listen to Panic again? Why?
I would hesitate to listen to Panic again because the excellent reader makes the experience so terrifying, I had to turn the audiobook off twice. I just could not take it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Panic?
There are so many memorable moments in Panic, I just don't know which event I would choose. If I were forced to choose, I would say the attack on a sister and brother by their mother was probably the most breathtaking.
What does Craig Beck bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
OMG! Craig Beck reads flawlessly and knows how to modulate his voice and build the terror to crescendos. The peaks are plural - Beck repeatedly builds the tension to a fever pitch. If I were just reading the book, I would skip over many unpleasant details, and I would have missed how carefully the author chose all his words. The book is very nuanced. Yes, this is an action packed zombie novel, but the author's writing and reader's reading make Panic a unique experience.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
As I said before, the attack of the mother on her two adult children was most upsetting.
    Any additional comments?
I will probably listen to the rest of the series, but I am not strong enough to do it right now.
    panic
slow to start. gets better as the book goes along. now on to book two
Bio Warfare and Zombie like human.
This was a gripping story with some elements of gore. Just the right amount to gross you out without going to far. I enjoyed this story very much. If you like zombie type stories you won't be disappointed.
    Good!
Slow start! But once it got going good! Why get supplies from bunker? Very good already starting next book!

    Publisher's Summary:
Xander MacNamaras adventure continues when he is placed in charge of a civilian colony outside Barstow. Things heat up fast when Sonya, a mysterious stranger sent by a secretive benefactor, frees him from enemy captors. Once again, Xander and Felicity find themselves fleeing for their lives from a never-ending series of new threats as well as old ones. A hidden enemy within the military is hell-bent on creating a secret weapon: genetically engineered super zombies! Friends and soldiers are pitted against each other, as one side races to spread the cure while the other battles to gain ultimate control over the fate of mankind. Zombie Attack! Army of the Dead is filled with pulse-pounding undead action from the very first chapter until the bittersweet end. Child celebrities, reality-television stars, nightmarish zombie clowns, bikers, ninjas, warlords, and more - this book has it all! The story takes off like a bullet and doesn't slow down until the last sentence. You won't be able to put it down!
    Members Reviews:
    Pretty good in perspective
I had to start rolling my eyes again as Xander was acting all childish like in the last book, but he actually goes through character development and starts maturing. Much of this book has a teen tint over it, you have to put it in the perspective of younger readers to accept many of the pretenses it has. I mean, Xander is the military commander of a base? What is he, 16 or something? Yeah, you have to swallow some unrealistic scenarios.
So yeah, good book once you realize the target audience of the story.
    Great story line
I loved the story line in both books one and two. Narrator was awesome. I have one complaint.....this guy is LONG WINDED!!!! Damn. So many times right when you get to the climax of the story this guy goes off on some stupid rant about something unrelated to what's going on in the book. SEMI SPOILER COMMING UP.... For example....The story is cooking along at a pretty good pace. Xander and Moto are about to be hung for treason and the author stops the story and starts talking about childhood memories. I actually fast forwarded through several places just to get back to the storyline.
I am now sold on this series
After listening to the first book in this series, I found it to be a no brainer to listed to this book 2 in the Zombie Attack! series. While book 1 was pretty good, I am really hoping that Sagliani can grow his story telling from pre-pubescent to at least mid-adolescent.
Dont get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed Rise of the Horde. But from there, there is so much room for growth.
My hat is off to Devan Sagliani for doing exactly what I wanted him to with this story. I wanted growth and I got it. He was able to create dimension and depth within his previously shallow characters.
A couple of things really surprised me here. First that somehow Sagliani was able to create a squeal that is closer to double the length of the first book than it was to the same length. More often than not I find that the second book to a series becomes shorter than the first.
Secondly, how the powers that be could have totally managed to split this into two separate stories. As I mentioned it was well long enough to do so.

It's all fun and games until the mysterious death of a local hacker shatters their surefire plan, sending them on a fast-paced adventure through the city's seedy underground, where they hope to salvage what's left and avoid capture by the Board Agents at all costs. Nobody comes back from that. Nobody.
    Members Reviews:
    Just plain fun!
What did you love best about Going Shogun?
Listening to Going Shogun was the most fun I've had in ages. I love Ernie Lindsey's sense of humor and his ability to tell a story so vividly I feel as if I'm there. I was totally entertained by the adventures of Chris (aka Brick) and his best friend Forklift and their world dominated by a controlling government agency called The Board.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Going Shogun?
When Chris (aka Brick) realized what was really important in his life. It wasn't social status.
Which character as performed by DJ Holte was your favorite?
I liked all the characters. DJ Holte is so talented he makes them all come alive. Maybe Forklift, with his invented slang was my favorite.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Comic joy ride.
    Any additional comments?
I highly recommend Going Shogun with a warning: Every audiobook you listen to afterward will seem mighty dull.
You will either love or hate this
You are either going to really get a kick out this book or hate it. Lindsey has put an enormous amount of energy into creating a strange and lighthearted dystopia. The world sucks, but everyone finds a way to make it work for themselves. It was tough going to at first, but sticking with the story was worth the effort. One of the main characters, Brick has created a language that no one understands, even you dear listener. Can that get annoying? You bet. But keep going and you will understand, eventually.
The plot is purposefully ridiculous. Three losers are bent on stealing the recipes to the wildly popular restaurant where they work(ed). But as the plot unfolds, you the listener, learn that Going Shogun is not really about that at all; it is love story and a bromance. Which clearly saves the book. This is a book about young people stuck in their parents nightmare society. How do they fit in, how can they make it their own? It is funny, and gently poignant. Something like Generation X in the 21st Century. Lindsey has clearly stuck his neck out, you will either bend forward and give him a kiss or take a whack with a sword.
The narration is by DJ Holte who does an outstanding job. All the characters are clearly differentiated. They sound like what you would expect. His range is wide and he brings a lighthearted dystopia to life without a flaw.
One can sense the possibility of a sequel or a series based on the characters or plot. There isnt one as of this writing. But if you enjoy this book, you will likely want to continue on.

    Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Sci-Fi: Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
This audiobook combines the three postapocalyptic adventure books of the Solitary Man Series. Look around. Millions of preppers are working feverishly every day to get prepared for what they fear is a disaster about to happen in America. The motivation for preparing differs for each person. Donald is getting his farmstead prepared in case a predicted solar storm takes out the electrical grid. Some folks might call what Donald is trying to create as a bug-out location. Other people consider his little rural house as an effort to become more self-sufficient, like a homesteader. Donald can agree with both lines of thinking, but the way he sees it, it is going to be his own safe haven or refuge from the NASA predicted solar storm.
This book focuses on building a bug-out location from scratch, with permaculture and disaster psychology.
    Members Reviews:
    Badly Constructed Narrative
I do owe Foster a thanks for introducing me to the world of 'preppers', and giving me something to chew over when it comes to why there are so many people looking forward to the apocalypse. However, as a novel, this is poorly constructed.
As with many fetishists, Foster makes the common mistake of believing his readers will share his obsession with preparing for the looming apocalypse. Consequently, he offers no insight for the mainstream reader into the hows or whys of people who have caught the 'prepping' bug. There's no context to the characters. In fact, there is very little effort to examine any of the characters' motivations. The plot flits around, clumsily interrupted with recipes, hints on prepping, and long digressions on different types of ammunition. The whole novel is dripping with a curious sort of schadenfreude towards the non-prepping majority, and there is no sense that the author was even aware of this.
Consequently, I was relieved when it was over.
    Packed with facts
    Any additional comments?
While entertaining, the story was not a blockbuster. However, this book was packed with excellent information which is a must have for the prepper bookshelf. I look forward to more from Mr. Foster.
Done with Ron Foster Prepper Books
This was a painful, had to force myself to listen book. I had purchased one other of his short books that I didn't love... but my brother wanted to try this one... my brother is the prepper. The writing is just so poorly constructed, plot all over the place... he needs a better editor or to reread Strunk and White a few times. I found no new information here that I hadn't read elsewhere... and was miserable the whole time it was on.
    Outstanding
Once again you have write a great book packed with a wet of information and tips. I have already learned much from your book and now doing alot of research. Thank you Ron. one day I hope to meet you. I also live in Alabama.
Great stories destined to become classics!
