Members Reviews:
The stories were interesting but the author wrote so poorly and amateurishly that I can't recommend this book to anyone
I was extremely disappointed in this book. It really needed a professional editor. The author wrote poorly (unlike some of the characters in his stories who were brilliant writers) and there were so many typos, misspellings (ACM instead of ATM; cubical instead of cubicle), punctuation errors (missing quotation marks); wrong words (jacked for jacket; overheat for overhead; for example) and even names (Rogers became Williams in one paragraph, then went back to Rogers in the rest of the story; same with the name Bolton as a mistake for the actual name, Bancroft); just to name a few of the numerous errors. Sometimes there were several on just one page. The mistakes were so distracting that it took away from the plots, some of which were quite interesting. The errors really cut down on my enjoyment of the entire book. Some of the stories were meandering, often sounding like travelogues, more than a spy thriller. I was going to recommend this book to my mother-in-law, but in all honesty, I can't. As most educated people, she would think I'm crazy for recommending to her such a poorly-written and apparently unedited book.
A heart-pounding peek behind the secrecy
Although the 3 stories are fiction, you really get your fill of being exposed to arrogance, deviousness, and narcissism. Based on this authorâs personal knowledge, he compresses a bunch of experiences into gripping dramas.
Stories 1 and 3 show you how some CIA managers are incompetent, resulting in worthless analysis. Story 2 would make an emotional, action-packed movie. The story is so much better than the mundane plots coming out of Hollywood. If you love âthrill-rideâ stories, this book is for you.
If you like good writing, this isn't the book for you.
Just awful. I should have paid more attention to Mr.Raichle's comments about extremely poor writing. Not only are there typos, but also completely wrong words are used. Moreover, at least up until 14 percent of the book, where I had to give up, it is nothing but unrelated anecdotes that are not even very interesting. I wish I could get a refund. Start with a sample download and see if you agree.
It is full of stupid misspellings, left out letters in words
I had trouble writing a comprehensive review because the book is unreadable. It is full of stupid misspellings, left out letters in words, poor punctuation etc. With his purported background, you'd think Mr. Grayson would have a better command of basic English. Obviously, the author didn't bother with a proofreader or an editor before sending his manuscript to the printer.
