Billy Blade is a hardworking, hard-living, razor-sharp musical force. Mysterious behind his dark shades, the rough-around-the-edges Texan mesmerizes with his haunting harmonica and tantalizes with his dangerous looks and smooth country charm. His latest album is topping the charts. He's the newly crowned King of the Bacchus Krewe. He's definitely living the rock star dream.
Exotic Creole beauty Thyme Bellerose couldn't be more content. She has it all. An adoring grandmother. A handsome Tulane medical student beau. A satisfying job in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter. Her life is as rich as the ice cream she creates. She's got everything under control.
But control is an illusion. Dreams can turn into nightmares. And now, during Mardi Gras, otherworldly powers stand ready to shape their destinies in ways they could never imagine.
Shadow and light, magic and mystery, reality and myth: all come together in a place where rules bend and lines blur- even those between life and death.
Please note. This is part one of a two-part novel. It does not stand alone.

    A Magical Listen, Part 1 of 2
This is one of the best books Ive ever read. Its got everything I could want in a novel characters I love, the struggle between light and dark, themes of integration and discrimination, a great love story with almost-insurmountable obstacles, and Greek mythology (which I never thought Id like, but I love in this!), all set against the magical backdrop of New Orleans. Each chapter begins with either a quote or a stanza from a poem, which sets the stage perfectly, and this is backed by haunting music that reflects the tone of the story.
Rocker romances are my guilty pleasure, but this book is really a paranormal story. The country/rock star aspect is secondary and a minor detail to get Billy to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I discovered Michelle Mankins Raging Tempest series a few months ago and fell in love with it. I didnt think she could top it. But this, this is genius.
Some people may need a trigger warning for one scene. Its actually glossed over and not graphic at all but happens at the end of the first part and gets talked about in the second part, again without details. There is graphic violence in the first part. If youre squeamish or easily grossed out, you might want to skip ahead, but the story is definitely worth listening to.
Of course, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross do a fantastic job with the reading. They both put the perfect amount of pain, joy, or resignation into their voices, depending on the scene. I love the way both their voices sound when they read the quote at the beginning of each chapter. It's perfect.
    An Unexpected Adventure!!!
What is already an epic story bringing an exciting adventure with Magic, Mythology, and Love, plus a raw Nawlins flavor, is truly brought to life by the amazing narrators, whose dual narrating makes you feel like you are right there with the characters, not to mention they both have very pleasant, attractive voices. I could listen to them all day. Good thing this is only part one of the story. I am gonna listen to part two, now, and you should absolutely join me in enjoying this epic tale!!!
    WOW
Would you listen to Strange Magic again? Why?
I loved this book, I hope there are more to come in this series.Kai & Wen are the best duo I have heard yet. Keep up the good work.
    auto i review
i am looking forward to part two of this book.

    Bardsley at her best!
This is a great short story collection. Ms. Bardsley has a way of telling her paranormal vampire stories in a romantic and sexy way but with humorous and touching parts as well. These story won't disappoint on that front. They will have you smiling and outright laughing while hoping for true happy endings.
2 Thumbs up for this must read collection!!!
    gotta love vampires and holidays!
I have always loved Michelle's books and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the three stories of holidays, vampires and their mortal women. As a matter of fact I would enjoy full length books about each story. The women are all strong and driven in their own rights. The men are sexy, caring and undead. Talk about your great combinations. The stories revolve around Christmas, Valentine's Day and Halloween and the characters intersect in each. I very much enjoyed following the thread of characters between the three stories. This is a quick and fun and very sexy read!!
    great quick read!
I really enjoyed these 'quickies'! Hmmmm maybe a few more would be nice. I like reading little story bites that flow into the next one without dragging the whole prior story along for the ride.
    Fantastic Bites
I enjoyed these stories immensely, but wanted to know if there were any follow-ups to all three of the relationships.
Thank you for such great stories
    Nice selection
Short but sweet. Would love to find out what happens to everyone. Liked all the main characters but wish we got to know all of them better. Enjoyed this collection as well as other of Michele's work.

    Fated Eternals Book 1
This was an interesting concept about immortality and souls. The story is quite slow at first and everything moves at a very slow pace until towards the end when things pick up and there are a few unexpected twists and turns.
Narration was good and brought the story to life. The female voices needed a bit of work.
The story is told in Jacks POV. There is some mystery and a bit of romance. There is some action at the end. I would say this is a YA fantasy and very light on the romance. This is a fairly good book but I wish there were more things going on throughout the book instead of just picking things up around the conclusion. The conclusion was excellent though and wrapped everything better than I expected it.
"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."
NEW/YOUNG ADULT BUT DEFINITELY NOT MATURE ADULT
I hate book bashing but sometimes you just don't know why a book didn't work for you, the Summary sounded great and I really tried but somewhere in the hours of listening, that dragged on and on, I eventually gave up hope of ever finding the elusive thing that would finally capture my attention.
Immortal Jack is now 170 (but looks and acts 20) he was once a Vicar's son who lost his soul mate Lydia back in 1800 and something and he's been mourning the loss ever since. But when he sees Leah it's like seeing the spitting image of Lydia again. He tries not to get involved but he just can't help himself.... his soul is drawn to her and little did he know hers was calling out for this nameless stranger too. However, he's not the only Immortal and suddenly he's put people's lives in danger just by being their friend.
It should've worked, the writing was very clever but I didn't feel the romance... oh they gave each other pecks on the cheeks or skimmed their lips together but Jack was an old fashioned type of guy who wanted to wait til he had a ring on Leah's finger before taking things further..... so no sex. Only at the very end, when he was willing to give up his immortality to save her was there any real action and danger, yes there was mystery as this was a whole new concept of Immortals but nothing stood out for me.
Told from Jack's POV by a narrator who made it very difficult to follow who was talking and couldn't really do female voices.
Worth a credit? No, this is not a listen that's grabbed me in any way so I won't be following it even with the teaser of an Epilogue.
    Great!
Great story with fantastic characters and unique storyline.

    Atonement (The Six Saviors)
Exciting story, Blake`s story has a little of everything. His addiction lost him a lot but also found him something he never thought he wanted. Sophia has not had a very good understanding of life on earth, she was one of the females sent to reproduce their race, and has led a very sheltered life with her 3 yr. old daughter. Micha`s hatred for the Saviors has escalated and he's done some awful things to try to bring them down, but now he's aligned himself with a colonists. Things get very interesting and there's some serious things happening in the Silo. Blake is trying to come to terms with Annis choosing Cohen and his addiction has made him hard and vengeful. He's made to leave the Silo and spirals even further, getting himself captured. That's when Sophia comes into the picture, she don't know whether to trust him or not but circumstances force her to. Will their attraction save them both? Will Blake finally get his happy ending? Well it's a exciting read , so pick it up, you won't be disappointed.
    Road to redemption...
As a fan of the Six Saviors series, I've been looking forward to Blake's story for quite some time. He's fallen pretty far since losing Annis to Cohen. It was hard seeing his decline, but that just made it better watching him rise again and find his way back, finding stability in Sophia, the heroine, and Megan her adorable little daughter. Of all the Six Saviors books, this one was probably the most suspense and action focused, and to me it was more focused on Blake's journey than anything else. However, I found Sophia to be an endearing character and an essential part of Blake's journey, which made her an important character. The romance was sweet, and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat.
It was also nice seeing the other characters, as always.

    Drama!!
I should've listened to this book first, it answered a lot of the questions that I had when I listened to Artemis' story.
I really enjoyed the characters, their struggles, and determination to overcome their obstacles.
The narration was very creative and on point throughout the entire books which I greatly appreciated because there were so many characters and emotions coming and going throughout the whole book.
    Great read and listen..
In some ways I liked this one a little better that book #1. I really liked Ty and Ashlynn BUT there could have been more story and less sex. In book #1 there was one sex scene and a lot more story but in this one there was like 3 or 4 sex scenes, and thats a lot in a 240 page book. Although, I dont believe there was a full 240 pages to the story. It ended at 93% and at location 1740 of 1883, and it did seem to be over awfully fast.
Anyway, I liked that Ty was flawed and tortured after been held by Garrick, the evil brother, for a time that was to terrible for words. And he didnt trust women no-way no-how. Except for Ash, that is.
This story was built around Ash having to prove Ty was not guilty of murder, or he was going to be put to death by Zeus. Ty couldn't remember much of anything so he really thought he'd killed Elizabeth. What I didnt understand was Eros wanting Ty dead because he thought Ty killed his daughter BUT when Zeus said he was innocent of all charges Eros attacked Ty. That was silly. I mean, Ty actually had witness but Eros wasnt going to accept it, and Zeus read his mind. You can't get any better proof than that.
So, this had swearing and the F-bomb was used 45 times. And, like I said there was 3 or 4 sex scenes.
As to the narrator: Michael Ferraiuolo does everything right, most of the time! My favorite is he really, really laughs when the book calls for it. AND woman sound like women. AND all the men have sexy voices.
    Great second book!
If you read book one of the series, War's Passion you knew this one was coming--Ty and Ashlynn were giving off some major vibes from the very first time they met, for all of Ty's serious hangups with women.
Though never has a guy had more valid reasons to have hangups where women are concerned...betrayed by two, permanently scarred--both mentally and physically (and almost killed)--by one of them, he wants nothing to do with females.
    Ever.
    Again.
    And he means it.
But then Ash comes along...and his dragon has other ideas. Ideas which Ty tries to resist, which of course is futile.
At first Ash hides her true purpose in seeking out the Sons of War, which is to decide Ty's guilt or innocence in the death of the daughter of a god.

Yes, I laughed, cried and very much enjoyed those steamy hot sex scenes between Jonas and Audray.
    Any additional comments?
I'm looking forward to hearing more from Sharon Hamilton and where the Underworld goes from here.

fantastic end to the first SPECTR series
i love Spectr, and in the other audiobooks, Brad did a fantastic job. in this one, however, he kept messing with Gray's voice. I know that tends to happen, but i hope once SPECTR Season 2 starts, that Gray is back.
What a rush! Fantastic end to a great 1st series!
I can't believe it took me so long to listen to this series. It's a fantastic twist to the supernatural/m-m romance genre. The narrator was excellent portraying the various emotions and cadences, My only slight problem was I couldn't clearly hear enough of a difference between the sound of Caleb's and John's voices I absolutely loved the voice he gave to Grey, though, and how he slowed his speech pattern for this character...perfect!
Can't wait for the next series!

    AWESOME!!!
This my third time through this series. And listening to it brings the story to life even more!!
I was spellbound from the first
Having read this wonderful story many times it was even more amazing to listen to. Fiona does an excellent job with the narration which added that extra edge of your seat feel to it. It is an amazing love story that knows no limits. Alex is what every woman dreams of and together him and Valeria are just amazing. I am a fan of Greek mythology so to combine such a wonderful love story with immortals and oracles in such a loving setting as Greece is a perfect combination. This is only the beginning, these characters take on a life of their own and they have so much left to tell us
    Boring story. Great Narration
Well, this story just seemed to go on and on with a lot of filler nonsense. The concept was good, but the story was just MEH.... Sort of boring immortals, nothing special about them to speak of.
Really, all in all nothing happened throughout this book. There was lots of dialogue in the entire book, so there is that. (Love lots of dialogue).
There was zero sex in this book and just a couple of "stolen kisses". This book is rated G.
The narration was fantastic! Love Fiona Hardingham's narrations. She has a great reading voice, gives everyone their own distinct voice and the men sound like men.
The only reason I finished this book was because of the narration. If I had only been reading this I would have quit it.

    Love Transcends Time
This is a charming, uncomplicated time travel romance set in South Carolina during present day and the American Civil War eras. The romance between Keldon and Arianna not only has to overcome everyday relationship situations, but also has to deal with the limitations of a different Century, along with trust, betrayal, and doubt issues. It is a lovely Southern story and has just enough history (the good and bad of the civil war) to delight history lovers.
So, sit back with some sweet tea or lemonade and enjoy the travel back in time.
    Enjoyable Story
An unusual twist of a time travel story. I am surprised at myself but I really liked this story.
I enjoyed the listen. Don't regret the credit for the book.
