    Publisher's Summary:
Angie Redlantern is the first to spot the boats - five abreast, with men in metal masks and spears standing proud, ready for the fight to come. As the people of New Earth declare war on the people of Mainground, a dangerous era has dawned for Eden. After generations of division and disagreement, the two populations of Eden have finally broken their tentative peace, giving way to bloodshed and slaughter.
Angie must flee with her family across the pitch black of Snowy Dark to the place where it all started, the stone circle where the people from Earth first landed, where the story of Gela - the mother of them all - began. It is there that Angie witnesses the most extraordinary event, one that will change the history of Eden forever. It will alter their future and reshape their past. It is both a beginning and an ending. It is the true story of Eden.
    Critic Reviews:
"The Eden trilogy is a remarkable achievement: with wit, insight and invention Beckett has imagined a scientific Genesis not just about a society, but about the culture and myths that sustain it. It is both politically astute and theologically compelling." (The Guardian)

    Surprising ending
This book unlike the other two left me feeling somewhat sad. It also makes you do a lot of inner searching about life, social order, science etc. It wasn't the ending that I was expecting from the trilogy, but the ending I was anticipating would have been just as sad. I didn't like the one person only narration. I preferred the earlier narrations by multiple people. Overall it wasn't as entertaining as the first two books, but the final message was stronger.
not as good as first two books
pathetic compared to the first two books, you can predict the plot from less than half way through the story
Interesting take on the events on Eden
My slight downgrade from 5 to 4 for Story is around my difficulties in getting through the first half and a bit of the ending. The timing of this novel has the beginning overlapping with the latter part of Mother of Eden and then moving onto events subsequent to that timeline. One interesting aspect is the addition of new perspectives on how life is actually proceeding on Eden.
Prior to listening to this the description was that this was the completion of a trilogy. While that is accurate and this book acts as a bookend of sorts to the first two, it also makes it clear that if the author so desires he can pick up the day after this novel ends, or skip a few generations as he did before. Some convenient timings (to the author) of events means plenty of issues are internally still very much in play.
Unfortunately let down by the narration...
A decent finish to the Eden trilogy, still full of interesting characters and thought-provoking themes but, unfortunately, as an audiobook, it is rather let down by the narrator. Her accents were inconsistent, acting often over done, and the choices made about which accents to use were, at best, lacking cohesion with the earlier books and, at worst, a bit socially dubious. In a world where previously everyone had an accent stemming from the UK, all of a sudden (only ten years on from the previous book), there was a whole host of different accents and the choices of which to use for which group were worrisomely cliched (for instance a small tribal group sounding like some stereotypical assumption of an African accent).

    Thrilling from beginning to end!
I love sci-fi but I'm not big on a lot of technical facts & I usually skim through all the mechanics but this book really kept me enthralled. I listened to it on Audible & at one point found my whole body increasingly tensed like I was on the ship feeling the g's!
Really loved the main character & the fact that he NEVER gives up even when he does!
The other characters are interesting & add to the story, especially the alien characters, very cool.
While the main character is a guy, there are plenty of strong woman characters as well. In this story it seems that true equality exists.
Can't wait to read the next book!
    Excellent story!
Would you consider the audio edition of Eternal Frontier to be better than the print version?
Yes, it brings the story to life.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Eternal Frontier?
The first alien sighting. The author has a really vivid imagination and uses his science background to create some crazy aliens.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Action and science in space!
    interesting book
it was a very interesting read full of twist and turns. i believe if you like scf-fi you'll enjoy it
    Amazing space story!
This was an amazing story. I loved the job the narrator did, as well. I hope the audio version of book 2 comes out soon, as I am really looking forward to the next one!
Just as good as Melchiorri's Tide series
I am not a fan of space adventures but this book was exceptionally interesting and I hate to be trite, but it was hard to put down (turn off at bedtime). Excellent characterization. Fascinating setting. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

    Weird West in Space
Very enjoyable series beginning. I loved the characters. I loved the setting. I loved the world-building. My rough impression is that this is the sort of story that might happen if a world (very vaguely) like Dune were found in the Firefly universe. Highly recommended.
    AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY
Engaging story with excellent world building
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely, and in fact I have. I think anyone interested in Sci-Fi or Fantasy would love this book.
    Any additional comments?
All in all Hunger Makes the Wolf was a fun that tells an fast paced and engaging story that leaves the reader desperately hoping for a sequel.
    Funny and captivating
It has the feel of an old western, and just a hint of a 1970's distopia on a world millions of light years away. The stage is set for what promises to be an amazing saga. I can't wait for the next one!
Is Too Young-Sounding of a Voice a Thing?
I hate to give such a low rating to Ms. Rawlins, who is obviously very talented, but her voice just didn't fit this story to my ears. She sounded too young for most of the voices, and while she is very talented at doing accents, they served more of a distraction than keeping me focused on the story. It's a hardened Western in a SciFi setting, but her voice lacked the depth and age that the story wanted to tell.
    Good luck trying to finish.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It could be if the narrator did not put me off instantly, narrator comes acroos like a child pretending to mockingly put someelses voice on and its horrible.
Would you recommend Hunger Makes the Wolf to your friends? Why or why not?
Maybe the non audiobook version as the premise was promising.
What didnt you like about Penelope Rawlinss performance?
The main characters voice was fine but when ever she attempts to do any other character is just painful to listen and completely made me lose focus on the story eliminating immersion.
Do you think Hunger Makes the Wolf needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No idea was never able to finish
    Any additional comments?
Maybe bringing in another narrator or or additional support actors would have made this more palatable, as it is i could not recommend this to anyone.

With their home overrun by madmen, R, Julie, and their ragged group of refugees plunge into the otherworldly wastelands of America in search of answers. New Narrator Breathes New Life
What did you love best about The Burning World?
The story expands upon the best things about its predecessors - the characters are deep, introspective, and feel like more than "survivors." The expansion beyond the airport and the dome into the greater world make the story vast, with luscious descriptions that deepen as the story progresses.
What other book might you compare The Burning World to and why?
This book is more comparable to it direct predecessor, Warm Bodies. While R is not so much the struggling, angsty protagonist of the second (nee first) book in the series, Marion does a fantastic job of allowing R to develop beyond the zombie savant of Warm Bodies, and into a fully realized and confident protagonist worthy of being the reluctant hero.
What does Jacques Roy bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
The narrator's storytelling skills do a fantastic job of making the tale immersive in a way that reading words on a page may not. While the writing itself is both technical and lush, Roy's telling of the tale lends considerably weight for those who get bogged down by good writing that affords no coddling for light readers.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
    There are several, but, "Spoilers."
    Any additional comments?
While Roy's narration is very well executed and enveloping, my one criticism is that the main characters are voiced in a largely similar manner. The accents and vocal inflections used by Kenerly in Warm Bodies is sorely missed. That said, he does an excellent job, overall.
    Captivating
Jacques Roy does a phenomenal job delivering Marion's captivating prose and bringing the characters to life without absurd octave changes for the women.

Fifty years ago, Mira, humanity's last hope to find new resources, exited the solar system bound for Proxima Centauri B. Seven years into her mission, all transmissions ceased without warning. Mira and her crew were presumed lost. Humanity, unified during her construction, splintered into insurgency and rebellion.
Now, an outpost orbiting Pluto has detected a distress call from an unpowered object entering Sol space: Mira has returned. When all attempts at communications fail, a search and rescue vessel is dispatched from Trident Station to intercept, investigate, and tow the beleaguered Mira to Neptune.
As the marines prepare for the journey, uncertainty and conspiracy fomented by Trident Station's governing AIs, begin to take their toll. Upon reaching Mira, they discover they've been sent on a mission that will almost certainly end in catastrophe.
The Derelict saga is a suspenseful mashup of hard military sci-fi, space opera, and mystery.
    Some mysteries shouldn't be solved.

    Aliens meets Event Horizon
I'll start with the negative. If you don't like cliffhangers and absolutely must know what happens, this may not be the book for you(Or at least until the entire saga is available of course).
I found that the story read and generated the same atmosphere and feeling as Event Horizon. That is to say it is a Sci-Fi romp that gives enough interesting science and theory to established a believable world on the surface, with cool technology and history. Don't dig too deep(in science) or you'll encounter the horror/fantasy underbelly(which is not a bad thing in my opinion). This IS NOT hard Sci-Fi, don't unfairly rate it for not being something it isn't aiming for.
Characterization is superb. He accomplished what few do and gives you a world with character. Sure it's cold and unforgiving, even plotting against you, but you feel the danger waiting in the dark.
In short, don't come here for a WH40K space marine world. Instead explore the darkness of space in a cruel world to find a dead ship.
    Tension Builds Steadily... Mira Approaches
STORY: I was impressed with Paul E. Cooley's venture into deep space with this first book in the Derelict series. A massive exo-solar exploration ship, missing for forty-three years, returns as an out of control derelict. The Sol Federation Marines of S&R Black are thrown into the breach to recover everything they can with very little preparation. A handful of marines to stop the largest ship ever built, complacent from constant training and boredom at Neptune station, they must quickly gel as a team to confront the unknown.
Arriving at the derelict, the recovery will not be as simple as their orders implied. Artificial Intelligence systems are used in station and shipboard to "assist" with the recovery. Or?
NARRATION: Mr. Cooley narrates his own book as comfortably as if I were reading it myself. He knows how expressive he wants each character to be. His voice range provides a distinction between each character that is pleasing to the ear.
Will be looking out for book 2!
    Good story so far
I liked it. Interesting universe and vision of the future. I found that the book went by rather fast.
Not what you think it is....
This book is great if you love a long build up with a small amount of action.

    Brilliant world building!
The first thing to catch my attention about this was it's cover. Very intriguing!! Then I saw who was narrating and I definitely had to listen. Andrew Tell is such an amazing narrator. He always delivers and is clear, concise and has a range of tones and cadences that always make the book come alive. Thoroughly enjoyed his performance in this one.
When I first started this, I was a little put off with the POVs. It felt disjointed and I wasn't sure what was going on. But the story came together and clicked and I realised that the author set an amazing scene and had me gripped from the get go. I thought the POVs was switched from Earth to the Space Ship, but I was confused because they were on about Earth being destroyed. But it finally clicked and I realised who Tev was. It's a nice change of pace when humans are the aliens ;) Lol.
The world building was awesome. I loved finding out about Tev and his world, I also loved being on the ship and following those characters and finding out their story. The world building is expertly written and developed and I really hope we see more!!
The characters are another major bonus. Each were well written and developed, and I was rooting for each for different reasons. I don't want to go into too much detail about them as this is a story that's best experienced first hand, but I will say that I loved Tev. In fact, there wasn't a single character I didn't like.
Even though a whole lot didn't happen in the book, it was still a fast paced and entertaining read. I listened to this in a day and didn't want it to end. I really hope there is more planned for this and it will become a series. Highly recommend.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
WOW, just WOW, what a action packed story!
Would you listen to Primal Dawn again? Why?
Normally I never re-read but yes, and I would love to get the next book!
    Any additional comments?
Primal Dawn (Primal #1) by Ryan Kirk (Author) and Andrew Tell (Narrator) was one heck of a book! I absolutely enjoyed the heck out of it! A group of scientist space explorers are sent to a planet that may have life. Oh, it has life alright, human life! Primitive but human and they don't know what to make of these beings. So they attack with their bows and arrows. Nothing can hurt the super armor of the suits they wear but astronauts, who has some PTSD from battle, goes nuts and shooting... it was downhill from there. An action packed story that gets better and better as the story goes. Wow, surprises, twists, and lots of action.

    Critic Reviews:
"Brilliantly imagined and beautifully written, Tregillis has created a perfect end to his series, filled with heroism and horror all the way to the finish." (Christopher Farnsworth, author of Blood Oath)
    Members Reviews:
Excellent finale to an epic series
I fell hard for the writing of Ian Tregillis with Bitter Seeds, the first book in the Milkweed Tryptich, so when The Mechanical (the first book in the Alchemy Wars series) came out, my expectations were high. And met, thoroughly. Tregillis does a remarkable job blending alternate history, science fiction, dark fantasy & steampunk into his own unique form of genre. I would put Ian Tregillis in the same high tier as Paolo Bacigalupi for unique, trailblazing fiction.
The Liberation is a wonderful conclusion to the series; my only regret is that it's over. And I'm glad the publisher stayed with Kris Kayser as narrator throughout the series. He was fantastic in his own right, but anyone who can repeatedly say "The Sacred Guild of Horologists and Alchemists" multiple times throughout the series, so succinctly, as well as emulate mechanical characters in such a persuasive way that we can distinguish one from another...well, he deserves an Audie! Great combination of author and narrator.
    Feeling a little disappointed
I felt like this was the weakest book in the series and that the author forgot a little bit who the characters were between books because the characters didn't feel consistent.
    Worthy capstone to the series
I enjoyed this book with the grim knowledge that it was all coming to an end.
In the early sections, and even through the middle, I thought that some of the ideas were being needlessly repeated and returned to. Eventually, I thought that this may have been intended to convey how difficult it is for a person to see facts that don't line up with their perceived reality. It may take more than one harsh slap in the face from reality before a person can change their world view. Maybe a fitting lesson to learn in these times.
Other than that, there was plenty of action and things were well paced. There is more room for high-level thought than simply the fights and intrigue.
It has been a while since I finished this book and I find myself still thinking back to the characters and wishing there were inserted into other stories around.
    amazing...
this is an amazing series. I wish there were more book series as original as this.
    Clockmakers die
Didn't like the crude language at times expressed by Berenice. Otherwise it was a great book!

    Space Opera at its Best
No sophomore slump here. Everything I loved from the first book is still here and just keeps building and getting better. The characters are getting more fleshed out as well as their interactions with the rest of the crew. The same for the story line, more threads are being introduced and woven into the plot. Rescuing her daughter is getting more and more complicated for Captain Marchenko. Kate Reading' narration is as awesome as always.
    Run fight
Mostly for fans that just enjoy the spending more time with these characters. Daughter is not found where expected but one clue leads to new arch. So running/fighting continues with intermittent character dumps. Readers can pick up plot in third book without missing much. Filler book that hardly advances plot.
Haven't read third book yet - reviews imply that that doesn't finish series either.
    GREAT story!
I highly recommend Honor's Flight: Fallen Empire, book 2. The enitre series is great fun., full of action, adventure, and really good characters that draw you in. Kate Readings performance is excellent!
amazing story... still waiting for the romance
again.... the is listed as a science fiction Adventure as well as romance. I was beginning to wonder if this whole story was about one battle...
as far the relationship building it's formed form barely tolerating each other to a mild flirtation . I enjoyed story enough that I've downloaded the third book they are a total and I'm hoping they get better as they go on this book was not as good as the first.
    fun read
This story picks up where the first left off. the saga continues on with some new twists.
Once again an excellent narration Kate Reading brings life and of course good characterisation and depth and believability to the stories very unique individuals.
Lindsay Buroker has become another one of my favorite authors a great story writer I look forward to the rest of the series.
To me this is an excellent example of what a space opera should be. Yes it does remind me of "Firefly" just gritty enough to bring in real life.
And believability to all aspects of the tale.

    Publisher's Summary:
It's the master tactician of the ruthless Galactic Empire versus the Free Planets Alliance in Japan's greatest space opera epic!
In the 36th century, humanity has conquered the galaxy and colonized countless star systems. The Galactic Empire, modeled along Prussian lines, and the democratic Free Planets Alliance are at war, and the fate of every human being in the universe hangs in the balance. This classic Japanese space opera, adapted into a legendary anime, is finally available in English for the first time.
A grand scheme for retaking Iserlohn is delivered to Reinhard, who, with renewed determination, seeks to become ruler of the galaxy and to fulfill the oath he made with a dear departed friend. But what are the aims of Phezzan, the third force at work behind the scenes? Meanwhile, no sooner is Yang breathing a sigh of relief when Julian returns from his first combat mission than he is summoned to an inquest and departs for the capital of the alliance. As if waiting for this opportunity to strike, however, the imperial military's secret weapon appears right at the gates of Iserlohn. The battle begins! Who will endure?

    I simply loved it.
Somehow, this book is just as entertaining as anime series. I especially liked the moments which weren't included in the anime. Like Yang being irritated by having coffee instead of tea.
    Amazing story!
Where is the next book in the series???
I need more Legend of the galactic heroes in my life!!!
More like a book two: continued than a book three.
As a the third audiobook of the "Legend of Galactic Heroes" series, "Endurance" is an example of a scenario where one could accidently listen to it before the second book and not even notice until near the book's completion. The tone, story's focus on political corruption, and characters positions don't really change from where they were in the second book. New events happen, some of them interesting, but the entire thing feels more like a prolonging of book two than a third story.
This dragging out of book two themes isn't helped by the continuation of the incredibly slow pace that has also carried over. Tim Gerard Reynolds is a very talented narrator and he continues his good work here, but there is only so much he can do before the a achingly slow story arcs start testing a listener's focus. This story also ends somewhat inconclusively without really wrapping up any loose ends, character arcs or even changing the setting much and leaving the impression that another entry into the series lies just around the corner.
This audiobook is recommended to listeners who enjoyed the second "Legend of Galactic Heroes" audiobook and want a more-of-the-same experience. This audiobook is almost interchangeable with book two, but listening to book one first is still necessary to understand it.
