    Publisher's Summary:
It is so far into the future that Oprah's papacy is but a bizarre footnote in the history books. The invention of the Flitzdrive has shrunk the mind-numbing magnitude of the galaxy down to less than a year's travel from edge to edge. Thousands of sentient races that once didn't know each other existed now intermingle and irritate one another on a regular basis...
When the most notorious space pirate that ever lived disappeared for the final time, his ship was rumored to carry a plunder of legendary worth. So when the crew of the starship Incorrigible gain a clue to that ship's location, it begins a star-spanning quest battling the forces of nature, time, space, and society - not to mention nettlesome outbreaks of sex - to retrieve it.
It is all waiting for you aboard the Incorrigible.

In the tradition of Hitchhiker's Guide
Sci-fi comedy has to be one of my favorite genres, and Bowersox knows what he's doing. His timing is sharp, the characters unique, and the plot delightfully improbable. Douglas Adams fans will enjoy this one, bearing in mind that includes some sensual humor and intermittent strong language. I've already recommended it to some of my friends. I would read more from this author.
    Hilarious
Liked the science fiction references and demonstrated absurdity of some of our contemporary issues. If you like Douglas Adams' work, Charles Stross' Laundry novels, Terry Pratchett's Discworld or the Red Dwarf TV series you may like this as well.
    Good Book
Kind of a hard book to get into because of itâs crazy characters but glad I did because it was very funny. The author has a good imagination and conveyed it well.
amusing, fun for a sci fi buff
Makes fun of some of the silly conventions of tv and movie sci fi. Some amusing characters. Worth a read if you like that stuff.
... of the old Craig Shaw Gardner books that I loved from back in the 80's
This book reminds me a lot of the old Craig Shaw Gardner books that I loved from back in the 80's, with the added bonus of pointing out the sheer dumbness of religion.
Funny, smart, slap-stick, full of puns. A fun little book that may trick you into thinking deep thoughts when you are done reading it.

History shows that such will probably not be the case.
There is still a Rome. There is still a Russia. This book deals with a handful of people and how they survive the virtual elimination of the entire population of the continent of North America. We become victims of our own technology. This could happen....

A hilarious audio book not to be missed!
What made the experience of listening to The Bikings the most enjoyable?
    David Radtke's stellar narration
Which character as performed by David Radtke was your favorite?
    Alec Baldwin (sorta)
    Any additional comments?
Bikings is an odd-ball tale of multiple absurdities that kept me chuckling from start to finish. More than just being a strange story, it's a well-written tale that keeps the reader engaged. The idea of vikings on bikes in the post apocalypse is fun and never once failed to make me smile. And I can't get enough of the flesh-eating babies. Here's hoping they get their own sequel.
    Expect the unexpected
The title of my review says it all. It's bizarre, but in a very good way. Just when I thought it couldn't go any further, it actually did. Very well written and read. This is one of Mr. Douglas' best works.
I don't want to say anymore. I'll just let you experience it for yourself.
How to train your dragon for adults
    Any additional comments?
Part How to train you dragon, part Heavy Metal, part Akira, "Bikings" is a raucous romp through a post apocalyptic world where psychic bicycles, cybernetic celebrities, and hordes of flesh eating babies are commonplace.
The book is expertly narrated by David Radtke, whose natural voice lends itself perfectly to the title's protagonist. David also provides numerous distinct and memorable character voices to add to the fun. Not for the faint of heart or family oriented due to the graphic imagery and coarse language, this book is still loads of fun to listen to during a long commute.

One of the Best Books I've Ever Read!
I really enjoyed reading this book! The characters and the story are great! I have read many books and this is definitely one of my favorites. I can't wait for the next book to be released in the series!
I would suggest you check out Anthony's website, Magnetic Memory Method to learn more about him and memory palaces, which is the method he teaches on how to remember just about anything. He is an awesome teacher and his memory methods are great and really work!
If You Like Sci-Fi, You'll Love This!
Lucas Parks and the Download of Doom! (Seems ironic that this read would become available in the midst of the recent HeartBleed computer security scare...'download of doom,' indeed...) The book is a funny, engaging, extraordinarily quick and provocative read. I look forward to the next installments.
    Crazy...
Did you enjoy Terry Pratchet and his discworld? Lucas parks meets the unique silliness of his iconic work and then some. Successful mix of a discworld, star wars and doctor who is no easy feat, but somehow author managed it anyway.
Now don't get me wrong, the story is very unique in its own, but it also means there is nothing that really compares to tell you what to expect. Are you in for the wild ride?
    Mesmerising!
Anyone who likes science fiction, will love this book. Stylistically, a blend of The Matrix and Terminator with an added twist of humour. The story is an epic battle of humanity against out of control technology, with computer viruses spreading and infecting humans. The book is a real page turner, easy to read, leaving the reader with a burning desire to know more. A must read book!

    Publisher's Summary:
One hundred years after a terrible disaster a powerful church has risen to take control. The Church of Progression, led by the Cardinal, crushes the spirit of all on Hestonia beneath an iron-shod boot. With the aid of the Inquisitors, highly trained church operatives that have access to magically powered technology the church ruthlessly oppresses all who stand in the Cardinal's way. Amongst the church's targets are magic users, wizards, descendants of the original powerful beings known as the Anshada.
The church is rife with conspiracy and even its own internal strife threatens to doom it. Power plays come from within and without as the Arch Inquisitor Roland, his lackey Inquisitor Gwillis, and disillusioned Inquisitors and other powerful agents of the church clash for control.
There is one agent of the church that remains steadfast: Kalon Rhadon. He is Fate's Hand, the most dangerous of all the church's weapons. Yet even he begins to doubt the established order of things when he is sent to recover a dangerous magical artifact that contains the teachings of the demonic Anshada.
In Kalon's quest for the book there is a young Stealer, Spry, who is instrumental in Kalon's understanding of the events to come and the role that Fate herself has planned for him.
Fate's Hand is a dark fantasy novel set in an original universe that has elements of technology and magic in a decadent society. It is a steampunk Renaissance novel that couples the swashbuckling traditions of the Musketeers with a powerful narrative.

Layered Magic System, Complex Plots, Enjoyable Characters
I flew through this book fairly quickly the first time I read it and when it was over it made me keep trying to find more content on the next page (click, click, click!)...sadly with Kindle books you don't know when the end will come and extra clicking doesn't make new content magically happen.
I wanted more! So I read it again, more slowly, and found I enjoyed it even more. The characters are diverse, interesting and, developed. The world and magic are deep and rich. If you like math/science you get an added layer of goodness in the 'magic' system. I highly recommend it :D (It also has cool things like naval air ships and werewolves.)

    Publisher's Summary:
This is the story of a Space Cadet named Clay Stone who completed his academy training and is assigned to Space Center as the first Starship Captain to embark on a stellar mission to a red dwarf star called Alpha Proxima 4.2 light years away.
The trip is a disaster and the trials and tribulations are many, but the mission is almost doomed near the end. The story is packed full of humor, romance, action and adventure.
You're going to love this one. If you do, you will also love Red Dwarf II.
But, PLEASE, don't tell anyone the ending.
Based on a true concept, Quantum Entaglement.
They tell us on the one hand that near speed of light travel is possible. They tell us that, on the other hand, if one were to depart and achieve near speed of light travel, they would arrive back here to find that while only a few months have passed, back here on Earth decades would have passed.
Next they say that star travel isn't practical because it would take years to get to the nearest star, Alpha Proxima at four point two light years. If you combine all the facts and theories, it would take about ten months round trip for the astronauts, and about twelve years for the people of Earth to hear back from them.
Knowing that the hearts of people and governments never change, we have to wonder what the socioeconomic implications will be. How would the payroll work? If we get a week's pay every week Earth-time, that would be a week's pay every three hours or so as perceived by the astronaut. The Government would never pay that way.
There are bigger problems than that. You leave when your son is nine years old and come back in two years and have a beer with him, leave again and come back in fifty years to visit him in the old folk's home, and your only thirty seven years old. Star travel will make your personal life interesting and your economic life very complicated.

Shows Great Knowledge of Space Travel
Red Dwarf is a space story. The plot revolves around the first command of Clay Spear. The plot is intricate, and Spear ends up having to deal with ship saboteurs and someone on the ship selling drugs.
The novel contains many interesting details about space travel and life onboard a space ship. The issue of the time difference between space and earth (you age faster on earth in this novel) and the isolation of space travel help keep the plot fresh and compelling. Also, the main character, and a few of the subordinate characters, are well-developed and engaging.
The novel shows a good deal of potential. The author needs to learn how to slow down the narration by developing his scenes more fullyâby adding more dialogue, and more description of the characters and the shipâs environs. I also think the ending wasnât really organic to the rest of the novel. But itâs a good start, and I think this writer will develop into an interesting, solid sci-fi author.
    Mistaken Identity
I foolishly assumed this was the book by the creators of the BBC TV series, which it is not. I will assume I was not deliberately deceived.
Mr Stetson has made an honest attempt to cook up a Sci Fi plot flavoured with the usual romance, intrigue, science fact or quasi-fact, etc, etc., but unfortunately the result isn't very memorable. Understandably the editing is a little wanting: concepts repeated at different points, uncorrected syntax typos, use of the wrong homophone and so on.

The President, the cabinet, and the Congress merge to form the Council of 12 and foster the oppression by which we live. She must overcome the betrayal of one she trusted and launch Empress III to keep the Sun's fiery message from scorching the Earth as One Imix-the time of new beginnings-arrives.
    Members Reviews:
    A very entertaining short story!
Dr. Flaire Haiche and a handful of her students are the only ones who truly believe that the Sun is trying to communicate with Earth. The massive solar flair of 2012 killed billions and another such massive flair is predicted to occur very soon. Flaire and her team race against time to figure out how to divert the forthcoming disaster.
For only 38 minutes, this story really packs a punch. It has great characters, a solid story line, and that sense of impending doom that our heroes may or may not be able to slip out from under. Flaire is the most developed character. She is driven by her past. Her parents were the first to notice a pattern to the solar flairs. She grew up in their laboratory in New Mexico, listening to their scientific arguments and theories on the subject. When the 2012 Mayan solar flair event happened, stealing her loved ones from her, she became all that more dedicated to not only discerning the pattern, but convincing the US government of it.
The thing that I loved about this short story is that we the readers step right into the middle of things. Flaire has her personal history. But there is also this history of tried and failed experiments at communicating with the Sun, convincing the government, and developing and fine-tuning their methods for communication. At this point, it is just a theory they are testing out. They send up a message and then watch the solar flairs in detail for a distinct reaction. Of course, each person on Flaires team has their own theory about this action-reaction they are seeing beings that live within the Sun, the Sun itself being somewhat conscious, a natural measurable phenomena. Its all very intriguing. I was swept into the story from the beginning and thoroughly enjoyed the tale.
I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.
The Narration: Tiffany Williams was great. She sounded exactly like a driven scientist. She had distinct voices for each of the other characters, including light regional accents for some them. Her male voices were totally believable.
    Perfect Title
Would you consider the audio edition of Solar Lullaby to be better than the print version?
My first and only experience with Solar Baby was as an audio book.
What other book might you compare Solar Lullaby to and why?
Solar Lullaby is reminiscent of Liz Coley's Out of Xibalba in the way that Fendley deftly worked in her love of Meso-American cultures to cement her unique mythos within the Science Fiction community.
What does Tiffany Williams bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
The narrator's feminine tone was suitable for the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was left reflective and contemplative upon the story's end.
    Any additional comments?
The idea of sentient communication through solar flares is an incredible idea, one I've not run into before in SF.
