    Different, yet somewhat incomplete
If you could sum up A Song for No Man's Land in three words, what would they be?
My personal opinion of this book is probably irrelevant. I didn't like it, yet I loved it. This is truly a sci-fi twist on World War 1. I truly hope there is more for me to love/hate! :-)
Tim Gerard Reynolds is a top 10 narrator all the way!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I had the time I would have probably listened to it in one sitting.
    Any additional comments?
Despite my "tongue and cheek" comments - I would recommend this to anyone who likes an "alternate" take on historical events.

    staying true to the characters
Mary E Twomey does a great job, of creating difficult situations but not lingering and drawing out the angst while the reader loses interest in all other story lines. Thank you Mrs. Twomey, we've all read those books and then just skipped to the end of the situation before walking away. What a horrible, horrible place for Lucy to find herself in without her Tom. And Foss, this is just creating all sorts of problems. I loved, loved, loved dissecting the characters on this one. They are so rich and all their psychological parts are so well put together, it is almost text book. Mrs Twomey is definitely staying true to who they are.
This is one of my favorites in the series. ...
This is one of my favorites in the series. Foss started out as such a big bossy character but you get to know a bit more about him and see a little of why things are how they are.
The interaction between Lucy and Foss is very entertaining!
Cant get enough of those Undrans!!
Oh Foss, how I love/hate/adore/loathe you. And I kinda wanna kiss/punch you. What a beautifully gorgeous, yet detestable/sexy character. He is a contradiction in terms, and Twomey's ability to develop such a complex creature is astounding. Reading is "ma thang", so I've been around (don't judge), Lucy and the gang are so well developed I can easily see "who" they should be on screen. THAT is the beauty of an excellent author who knows and loves her own characters and is willing to share exactly who they are with us. Phenomenal third book. I've never been so pleased or involved with a series. Thank you, thank you, thank you Mary E. Twomey!
    Fantasy horror
My son (14) and I (former librarian) are reading this series together. Book 1 leaves you at a bit of a cliffhanger. If you choose to keep reading, buy the combo packs. There are 9 books in all. It's definitely a series intended for younger readers, but... Beware, there are a lot of serious adult concepts in this series, including death, rape, torture, emotional torture, abuse, domestic abuse, slavery, mutilation, depression, suicide, and murder.

Enjoyable continuation of Quincy Harker escapades
Quincy takes on the Four Housemen with nicely developed companions wrapped into a neat novella. Still more foul language than I prefer or that is needed, but I recommend this as terrific escape entertainment.
Fast paced, action packed, funny as hell!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
    Oh absolutely!
You get to cross many genres with these, have fun doing it, and make references to pop culture in the weirdest places, but somehow it makes sense!
Who was your favorite character and why?
You'd have to go with Quincy Harker, I mean, he's the titular character. If you don't like him, then you probably won't like the book.
What does James Foster bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Charm, snarky voicing and wonderful comedic timing!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not really, it was all just a quick roller coaster ride that was fun to listen to!
    Any additional comments?
Kept me entertained on the long boring treadmill runs during my IM 70.3 training. Where else can you find references to NWA's Four Horsemen, Monday Night Raw, and Star Wars??
A Super Fun Urban Fantasy,New Favorite Character!

Top 1% The Author is a National Treasure! Its the kinda gritty that i look for in a story
What did you like best about this story?
This mashes up a couple story lines i like, Basically Immortal Wizard Vampire with a potty mouth
Have you listened to any of James Fosters other performances before? How does this one compare?
No but i just bought Raising Hell and Scattered, Smothered, and Chunked because if this audiobook
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yeah,so i'm on my morning walk with this audiobook playing laughing out loud like a psycho scaring the locals, It don't get any better than that
    Any additional comments?
I received this book free for an honest review, but i had no problem spending more money with this author, the narrator was also amazing, Clearly hand pick for the Character.I will be keeping an eye out for more Quincy Harker in the future!
The Series Gets better every time!
Quincy Harker, Son of Jonathan and Mina Harker, "Nephew" of Dracula, and all around badass demon hunter, is facing off with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalyse, or at least their avatars, which are pretty badass themselves. Working with his former nemesis in the Police department for a shadowy government agency, they need to basically stop the end of the world. No pressure though. The plot is fast paced, the action sequences are excellent and pulse pounding, and thecharacters are well written, with the dialogue between characters being snappy, serious and hilarious in turn. Any fan of urban fantasy should really enjoy this series.

What made the experience of listening to Southern Gothic the most enjoyable?
    Each chapter has more suspense
What was one of the most memorable moments of Southern Gothic?
The addition of Cissily Hall as the only female relitives of the Hall but that the family still does not want to accept her as the matriarch
Have you listened to any of Stuart Jaffes other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to some othe narration by Stuart Jaffe and find that this is every bit as good as the preceding.

The book did make me laugh on several occasions
    Any additional comments?
The story centers around Cal Backster the Backster house and the lost Hall gold.
The addition of Cissily Hall is fascinating, although she is a woman of the Hall family she is every bit as ruthless as the men. Trying to find the Gold, Max, Sarah and Drummond face a lot of unforeseen events. The story always keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to hear more. The Max Porter series is a must have

    Members Reviews:
    Exciting addition to the series.
Talon is back and as bad ass as ever! In this edition, he has to battle an evil physic and his force of ghosts. He needs some special equipment though, so we get to see some awesome new additions to his armory!! That's about all I can say about the plot because I don't want to spoil it, so I'll get down to my thoughts.
There isn't much more I can say about Talon either, that I haven't already. He is such a bad ass!! Here we get to see him dealing with something totally new, ghosts. To do that, his mentor and benefactor has created. It's always nice to see Talon with machines, but to experience the newness with him was awesome! He was enthusiastic about them, as was I ;).
Everything about this series rocks. It's hard to review each separately because of spoilers, but each one brings something new to the table. Poor Talon has so much to deal with, yet each time he never fails to try. He is a hero through and through!
Added extra to this one is a bonus book called Coffin Collector. This was quite a creepy one because of the buried alive in the coffins!!! Lol. A great novellete and bonus, but so short!!
In all this book was so good. Action packed, intense and brilliant. This series is a must read!!! I do so hope that the author will expand the books and make a novel rather than a novella. I want more from this world and characters and would love to read a longer version. Saying that though, even with the length, each of these read like a novel! They are always packed full and entertaining, I'm just being greedy!!!
James Foster has captured my attention already with some of his previous works, and this just cements it. He is absolutely fantastic. So easy to listen to!! He tells the story perfectly and always delivers. He is quickly becoming one of my go to narrators.
*I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review, via Audio Book Blast. All thoughts and opinions are my own*
    Another solid listen
Another great listen by William Massa. I loved the fact that our main character is now sort of working with a team. He was more of a lone wolf before. But, now he's working with others more closely in his battle against evil. This was another fast paced, action packed ride.
And, I love that the same narrator, James Foster, is used. The consistency is great. He really makes the reader feel these characters he's come to know so well, as well as new characters. Another solid listen.
    here be nightmares!
This book consists of 1 novella and 1 short story, both well written, and both with high scary factor. In the novella, the author uses paranormal technology to excellent effect, and it adds enormously to the chill factor. While these are certainly not character driven stories, the author develops his important characters, including his villains with enough care to make them interesting.

Fair Tales with a adult vibe
A twist on same old same old fair tale it was kind of neat to listen to the cute little fairy tail people saying all the bad words. It was a good story with lots going on . It was a great way to spend the day listing to these books I so hope there books to listen to by Christine
story is fast paced and easy to follow
Reading all three in one made it to difficult to know where one book ended and another started. The different fairy tales give a bit of a clue. As the stories progress so do the fairy tales. There are actually quite a few nods to different tales in this.
This starts out very weird. It's not that I did not like the story but many things about the character did not add up.
The story is fast paced and easy to follow so it did make me curious about book two but the main character, Kayla, does things that seem out of character. Even though I have just started reading about her!
Kayla seems like she wants to be a strong individual and at times that characteristic comes out, but for the most part she reminds me of a damsel in distress. The fact that she still lives with her crazy mother even though her mother is constantly putting her down, is one issue for me. Being that this is a short story I was able to go with it and got the feel for the character.
The way the fairy tale was told was a bit of a twist on the older version. Very different from other stories that I read and that came through nicely. The three books have three main fairy tales that they shoot off and the second has many parallels with The Three Little Pigs.
The third story was much better than the first two.

Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Paranormal
    Publisher's Summary:
The death and destruction wrought by Teutates, along with Allie Mae McCormick's deadly rage against David Hobbs and his family in Tennessee and Colorado, has almost been forgotten. The renowned "lovers' lane" ravine in the heart of Cades Cove rests quietly below moonlit skies at night, and John Running Deer can once again enjoy the seclusion of his Smoky Mountain residence - almost. Ever since the previous hauntings ended, a ghost known only as Galiena has made her presence known to John on an increasingly frequent basis. As a former spirit guide to John's grandfather, Two Eagles Cry, Galiena has kept watch over the deity siblings of Teutates buried in another ravine - this one near Cherokee, North Carolina. Having guarded the bones of these entities for the past millennium, a recent Supreme Court judgment has allowed a ruthless land developer to capitalize on his ancestor's claim to this ravine and the surrounding hills nestled below a majestic mountain disdained by the Cherokee as Tsvsgina Odalv, or "Devil Mountain". The Native Americans' loathing of this place dates back to the Iroquois settlers from before AD 1000 and coincided with the arrival of the skeletal remains belonging to the four entities that Galiena has successfully shielded from harming the innocent. The Cherokee Nation rejected the land for a very good reason long ago - but Simon Blankenship is not a reasonable man. Still, John hopes Blankenship will listen to him before an unforgivable mistake is made by laying a proposed pipeline through the heart of the ravine. Ancient deities have awakened from the construction of luxury cabins already completed in the area and are thirsty for fresh blood after such a long slumber. Can John, with the help of his granddaughter, Evelyn, and David Hobbs persuade a bull-headed man to withdraw from the ravine before it's too late? Or will similar violence to what happened in Cades Cove be visited upon new unsuspecting residents living near this other ravine? The death toll climbs as John and his companions race to cure the tainted land of its violent tenants, hoping to prevent worse carnage from spreading beyond the realm of Devil Mountain.

A Welcome Return to Cades Cove
"Nearly six years have passed since trouble visited Cades Cove". After hearing just the opening sentence of this story, I was hooked. The Cades Cove books are some of my very favorite by Aiden James, and Devil Mountain does not disappoint. It is the first book in the new Cades Cove Mystery Chronicles and is told from the viewpoint of John Running Deer. Many of the characters from the original books are back, and this time they find themselves up against the brothers and sisters of Teutates. The story was fast-paced and at times terrifying. The narration by Timothy McKean was first-rate and kept the story smoothly moving along. This is the second book that he has narrated that I have listened to, and I hope to come across more. His smooth voice and style are an asset to the story. Now the only problem is waiting to see what happens to this group on their next adventure. I am ready for the next book now!

Once, Xhea's wants were simple: enough to eat, safety in the underground, and the hit of bright payment to transform her gray-cast world into color. But in the aftermath of her rescue of the Radiant ghost Shai, she realizes the life she had known is gone forever. In the two months since her fall from the City, Xhea has hidden in skyscraper Edren, sheltered and attempting to heal. But soon even she must face the troubling truth that she might never walk again. Soon, assassins stalk the skyscrapers' darkened corridors while armies gather in the streets. But Shai's magic is not the only prize - nor the only power that could change everything. At last, Xhea begins to learn of her strange dark magic, and why even whispers of its presence are enough to make the Lower City elite tremble in fear. Excellent story for YA fantasy
Book 1 tells a great story, ends on a clutching scene, then book 2 picks up with even more character depth. The action scenes tend to be far apart but when it builds to great suspence the imagination of the author rockets you sky high with fast paced scenes and amazing depth to the story overall. Loved both books and I hope the 3rd one doesnt take too long to come out.
