OMG THIS WAS FABULOUS!!! I love a good vamp series and I have definitely found one!!!
Cherry is a newly turned vamp of 6yrs...and she kind of hangs out at bars and nightclubs to feed and we will say get some male attention...lol She then wipes there mind and they just think they had a sexy night! She is out one night and meets Alex...he is a cop and she is super attracted to him...she goes home with him and after a case of mistaken identity..lol They have a great night together, Cherry accidentally falls asleep, and then almost gets fried by the sun..lol She has A LOT of explaining to do after this....Well Alex has been on a case where young women are disappearing and Cherry just so happens to be part of that without her knowledge..and it all takes off from there...This book also has quite a bit of sexy time...SO ENJOY!!!
100% RECOMMEND AND I AM MOVING ON TO #2 NOW!!!!

    Great Addition to Series....
The Valerie Dearborn series books need to be read in order to understand, they are in no way stand alone books.
I loved this book, the 2nd wasn't nearly as good but this one answers a lot of questions from the first 2. The cliff hanger at the end is HORRIBLE, so I hope there's either Another book or a companion series.
With that all being said, books are definitely worth the credit and time to listen to them!
    After the second book idk
I don't know the first book was little confusing, but I held on and got the second book the second book was knock your socks off good so I got the third book and the third book just seemed a little rushed. The characters stay true to form some of the villains weren't really villains and some of the innocents were really innocent so it had some twists and turns which are really great. And the epilogue left some suggestions for maybe another book. But I don't know it just left me kind of empty like there could've been more there could've been more description and it didn't have to be so rushed in those last few chapters it's like she spent so long getting us hooked into the story and showing us this transformation of Lucas from villain to hero and the love and the yearning and the redemption and then all this buildup to nothing within a few pages maybe 10-15 minutes total was the end how rushed is that?
    Yawn.....
For the first two books to be so good, this one was very drawn out and boring. I mean the first few chapters I had to go back and replay because I would either fall asleep or just tune it out! Very disappointing!
Just a end for the story
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I don't know... like or dislike something is so personnal.... Maybe one day I listeing again and I loved it.
What was most disappointing about Caroline Hansons story?
Is very simple. but I believe she can get better with experience.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
None. For me it was just another book and ready. No feeling.

    Magical Coming of Age Story
Crossfire is a fast paced thrilling story that grabbed me on page one and held me until the end. The characters and world building are well developed and I became quickly invested. Melissa Chatwood did a good job as narrator with easy to understand and distinguishable characters. I look forward to more in this series and from this Author.
Amazonian warriors, gods, demis, & more, gotta lov
Wow, tons of action with all sorts of creatures and a couple of gods keeps your attention in this story. Standard good verses evil with epic battle and love of family are included. The narrator did a fine job, but the recording not so much. The sound at the beginning of sentences was very loud and then softer. It made adjusting volume tedious. I voluntarily reviewed this audio book after receiving an advanced copy.
A very Original Story, Highly recommend
I was given this audible copy in exchange for a Review. After listening to the story I have gone ahead and purchased then next 2 audible book in this series, That is how much I truely enjoyed this authors book!! It is rare to find a story that breaks out of the general genre written now a days, so I found this refreshing!
4.5/5 A Twist on Super Heroes
Summary: Marissa discovers some intriguing powers and finds herself at the center of a much larger conflict.
    Additional Comments:
    - The flashbacks at the beginning were a tad difficult to follow.
    - Fight scenes were excellent.
    - Marissa came across as whiny at first, but by the end, she's pretty cool.
    - Characters: Marin and Steve are also interesting characters. There's a whole host of other Omega Group characters with intriguing powers.
    - I enjoyed the way this story wove in Greek gods/goddesses, demigods, and amazon warriors.
    - The narrator's performance was good.
    - Once the plot settled after the flashbacks it moved forward with great speed and nice tension.
    - Overall, this is an awesome YA story about a young woman just discovering her destiny.
    Conclusion: Quick, entertaining YA adventure.
*I received a free audiobook. The choice to review as well as the rating and words are solely my own.*
    A fun fantasy read
This is not normally the kind of book I read, but I have to say that I rather enjoyed it. I would consider it a YA modern paranormal fantasy. I'm fascinated with the legends of the Amazons, so that is one reason this book appealed to me.

Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 19 votes
Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Paranormal
    Publisher's Summary:
Four years ago, crime beat reporter Riley O'Rourke changed the world. To be fair, it wasn't entirely her fault. Her mentor, a 3,000-year-old vampire, destroyed Tucson police headquarters during a fight with a sorcerer. Footage of the fight went viral on the internet, and the existence of Preternaturals - vampires, witches, and other were-animals like Riley - was revealed. Humans went a little crazy. The cats and wolves were out of the bag, and only an act of Congress stopped the chaos.
But not all the Preternaturals are happy with this new world order, however. The Queen of the Winter Faeries worries that exposing her hidden world will destroy it, and sends the nastiest storybook characters imaginable to kill Riley before she can out the Fair Folk, too. The Summer Queen, Winter's arch-rival, promises to protect Riley if she does her a teeny-weeny favor: break into Winter's castle, sneak past creatures straight out of Riley's nightmares, steal a magical mirror, and return it to Summer. And all without Winter noticing.
Riley agrees to the favor; what choice does she have? But dealing with the Fae is always a double-edged sword, and the Summer Queen neglected to explain that if Riley successfully pulls off this heist, the entire world might end up on the edge of destruction.

talented words crafter and masterful story-teller
Some secrets are best left in the dark; but sometimes they have a way of coming out with a vengeance. Riley ORourke, a crime beat reporter and Jaguar, was present when a bystander video-taped and released proof of supernatural creatures that roam the earth, mixing and mingling with humans. Exposing the preternatural world placed Riley into the lime light making her a spokesperson and specialist of the preternatural. However, not everyone was exposed and those creatures that remain hidden from the human world have an agenda their agenda involves Riley, her boyfriend and Onyx (her vampire friend/ruler of the preternatural world of Arizona).
The fairy world, both the winter and summer courts, are feuding and draw Riley deep into the depths of their war. She must steal a valuable artifact from the winter court. Bargaining with a fairy is a complicated and dangerous maneuver but Riley does so to protect her and her family/friends. The question is not can she do it but will the fairy world leave her alone afterwards? Thats a chance Riley takes with the support of her friends.
Fiona Skye, author, has a well-developed story that brings into it many different aspects of the current myths and legends of vampires, fairies, werewolves, shape shifters and more. The characters grow at a solid pace. The use of myths/legends is well done also. Although it brings in the entire preternatural world, it quickly narrows it down to one section and focuses not on the human element but rather on the preternatural.
The narrator, P.J. Morgan provides an excellent performance. At first I was a bit thrown off because I did not expect Riley to have a Brooklyn like accent but it is explained in the story very well and subtly. Morgan plays all the parts well executing difficult accents and twangs. Very entertaining and a great fit for the book. The emotions were projected very well, drawing the audience in captivating them.
Not only is Skye a very talented words crafter and masterful story-teller, but Morgan is equally talented at narration.

National best selling author Barb Hendee presents a dark, fascinating new world and the story of two sisters who will discover they have far more power than they ever envisioned....
In a small village in the nation of Droevinka, orphaned sisters Cline and Amelie Fawe scrape out a living selling herbal medicines in their apothecary shop. Cline earns additional money by posing as a seer and pretending to read people's futures. But they exist in a land of great noble houses, all vying for power, and when the sisters refuse the orders of a warlord prince, they must flee and are forced to depend on the warlord prince's brother, Anton, for a temporary haven. A series of bizarre deaths of pretty young girls is plaguing the village surrounding Prince Anton's castle. He offers Cline and Amelie permanent protection if they can use their "skills" to find the killer. Members Reviews:
    A really good read...
Where does The Mist-Torn Witches rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
I normally don't write reviews, but someone else had wrote a really negative review, and after listening to the first two books in this series, I felt as though the negativity definitely wasn't warranted. Barb Hendee writes great fiction and I've loved her other series, so I was disappointed when I read the negative review and almost didn't bother to listen to this series. I am glad I chose to have faith in Hendee's writing instead of trusting the review.
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of the characters are well rounded and interesting. The female characters are young, but have matured nicely from the first book. They are more confident and skilled with their powers and definitely hold their own in the book.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I love the tension and building passion between the female and male characters in the book
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I finished the first and second books in two days, which speaks to how well the narrator holds your interest. She has a very pleasant voice that doesn't grate or overwhelm the story. I am a devoted reader, and can finish a novel in written form very quickly, so when I listen to an audio book, I want to forget that someone else is reading the story to me. I want their voice to fade into the background and the story to hold all of my attention. There's nothing worse than a narrator who uses poor accents or tries to make every single character have a weird, annoying voice. Subtle changes in tone accomplish much the same thing, and the narrator for this book does a great job telling the story without trying to make her reading the star of the show.
    Any additional comments?
If you are looking for a deep, spiritual book, this isn't it. If that's what you want, go read Homer. If you are looking for fun fantasy fiction with a bit of mystery and romance thrown in, Hendee always delivers.
    GOOD! WELL WRITTEN AND PERFORMED
I am glad that I decided to give this series a try. I was not disappointed at all.

    Wow...Loved it
Would you consider the audio edition of The Haunting of Sam Cabot to be better than the print version?
    Never read the print version.
What did you like best about this story?
    The whole storyline....
Which character as performed by Daniel David Shapiro was your favorite?
No favorites....I guess the lead character.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    The Furnace Repair Man

To be honest, I thought this would be the usual 'ghost' story....but....it wasn't. I am near the end of the book...with my head phones on and all of a sudden I say...."Wow"...my husband looks at me like I'm crazy....Truly enjoyed this fairly short book....will listen to it again. for sure...to get all the nuances. Well worth the price/credit.
    Gripping read!
    Any additional comments?
This story had me glued to my earbuds - the story arc is thrilling, and the twist at the end is totally unexpected!
    Excellent Book
This is one of the better books I've read. Listened to it all in one day. Had me sitting on the edge of my seat! Thank you Mark!!!
    What just happened?
I'm being generous giving this 3 stars. This book was really weird, and kinda built up to make me think something more original was going to happen. Then it just ended really strangely. I'm giving it 3 stars because it held my interest for the first couple of hours, and should have given it 2 stars because it seemed like the author got tired of writing and just pulled this ending out of a hat to end things.
    Delightfully Frightful
I enjoyed this book very much. The characters were evolved enough to make me care about what happened. The twists were unexpected not written to fulfill a writing script. I highly recommend it and will definitely be looking for more from this author.

I think this book was great! I enjoyed the characters, all the witches and Weir and all the cats, and the story line had me coming back for more. While it took a little while to get into the story, once it started, I really loved it! I can't wait for the next chapter of the adventures of the Echo Park Witches!
Amber is a wonderful narrator, in part because as also the author, she really understands not only the characters but the theme as a while!
What did you like best about this story?
The depth of characterization of all the fully rounded people that inhabit Echo Park.
What about Amber Bensons performance did you like?
    Great Voice!
    Any additional comments?
Can't wait for the next one!
    Predicted this
It was Too predictable, it was boring as ever and to slow to climax then echo park fizzles out. Won't read this one again
    Awful
I'll be returning this book. The story line was all over the place. The characters wee scattered. Did. Not. Like.
