    Publisher's Summary:
Xhea has no magic. Born without the power that everyone else takes for granted, Xhea is an outcast no way to earn a living, buy food, or change the life that fate has dealt her. Yet she has a unique talent: the ability to see ghosts and the tethers that bind them to the living world, which she uses to scratch out a bare existence in the ruins beneath the City's floating Towers. When a rich City man comes to her with a young woman's ghost tethered to his chest, Xhea has no idea that this ghost will change everything. The ghost, Shai, is a Radiant, a rare person who generates so much power that the Towers use it to fuel their magic, heedless of the pain such use causes. Shai's home Tower is desperate to get the ghost back and force her into a body, any body, so that it can regain its position, while the Tower's rivals seek the ghost to use her magic for their own ends. Caught between a multitude of enemies and desperate to save Shai, Xhea thinks herself powerless until a strange magic wakes within her. Magic dark and slow, like rising smoke, like seeping oil. A magic whose very touch brings death. With two extremely strong female protagonists, Radiant is a story of fighting for what you believe in and finding strength that you never thought you had.

    Excellent characters and storytelling
Best thing I've listened to in a long while. The story was interesting with wonderful world building; the characters were realistic and the main characters enthralling. The narrator had a flexible and pleasant voice that made for easy listening and the writing was very poetic. Highly recommended!
Fabulous new trilogy from a promising young author
If you could sum up Radiant in three words, what would they be?
    immersive, provocative, exciting
What was one of the most memorable moments of Radiant?
The moment in which the protagonist swears her protection and devotion to another. This not only marks a watershed in her life, but forever cements what is one of the more profound relationships I've ever come across in genre fiction.
What about Jeena Yis performance did you like?
The tone of her voice is perfect for the protagonist. Most of the time I thought she was bang on in her interpretation of the dialogue and narrative, but occasionally I felt her to be a little too monotone.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Like Game of Thrones, Radiant foregrounds systems of power and control that privilege some at the expense of others. The exploitation of Radiants was truly horrifying. Try as I might, I could not dismiss this as only fiction - it resonates too powerfully with human history.
    Any additional comments?
Part way through, I realized that this was the first genre novel I have come across where the main protagonists are both female, and the key relationship is one of friendship, not romance - a refreshing, and deeply insightful variation. Radiant defies generic categories, mixing elements of magic, zombie-culture, post apocalyptic literature, quest-based story-telling and science fiction in a truly engaging tale. You won't be able to put it down once you start, and it will stay with you afterwards. I can't wait for the next two!

    OMG I Love Ava!
What did you love best about Next on a Very Special That Ghoul Ava?
I love Ava meeting new characters and learning her new skills. I loved Muffy and the descriptive way TW has to show when she is in either of her forms. I thought it was genius introducing all the characters found in the basement and I could really see them in my head with all the descriptions.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the basement and all the new creatures that Ava found there - and saw the zombie making kid as Spicolli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Not a care in the world ;)
Have you listened to any of Pamela Lorences other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first book I have listened to that Pamela has read and I really enjoyed her acting as Ava. She really gets into character and it sounds like she has a lot of fun doing the book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This book would have been great listening to it in one sitting. As it was, I broke it up into about 6 parts and found myself waiting to get back to the book!
    Any additional comments?
I am blown away that TW - a man - can have so many insites into a woman's world. He is hilarious!
Clever and Fun Paranormal with a satirical twist
AudioBook Review: Stars: Overall 4 Narration 3 Story 4
The fourth title in this series is a turning point for Ava: she has to decide, hero or villain. Until this point, she has been straddling that line as she learns about the various denizens of the supernatural world, their histories and their battles. She discovers more about her own alliances and purposes, discovering true friends and finding more new powers and abilities.
This is the point at which she has to learn to choose, and then to live with those choices: waffling between guilt and not giving a flying Frisbee about her own choices and actions just wont work for her anymore. Tired of the baby spoons of information she has been given by those in the know, her decision to get her answers, her way, unearths powers and abilities she did not know existed, and perhaps no-one wanted her to discover.
In terms of the story trajectory this fits perfectly in the arc and again furthers Avas growth, both elements feel perfectly acceptable and natural. Humor isnt lost in this, even with the more serious topics under the microscope, and not unsurprisingly, Avas adaption to the new changes in circumstance are handled with her snarky asides and her do whats needed approach.
Pamela Lorence returns to narrate this installment, and her performance is growing on me: still carrying that Barbie doll overtone, shes incorporated the rather matter-of-fact deadpan delivery that notes Avas particularly humorous observations: particularly apt as Ava does not seem to realize she is funny. Another wonderful installment in this series.
I received an AudioBook copy of the title via AudioBook Jukebox for purpose of honest review.

Vampires, Witches, and Intrigue, OH MY!
Shawna is an intriguing heroine with a truly unique lineage. Her father is a psychopathic vampire and the man who wants to protect her is also a vampire with an agenda.
How can you not love the concept, creation, and execution of such an amazing storyline?
Claudy consistently makes you love even her most vile characters. She makes them so evil, that you love to hate them. And she makes the heroes and heroines so amazing, that you wish you could be part of their world.
I am a huge fan, and am slowly addicting my daughter to her work as well!
Thank you once again, Claudy, for delivering an outstanding story. You always keep me salivating for more!
Intriguing first book in the series
This is a really interesting read. There were a lot of eh moments, but plenty of great spots as well. My biggest gripe about this book is it was confused about how much of a romance it wanted to be. Mostly it was a great Urban Fantasy read, with patches of romance. The romance felt awkward in the first half of the book. Too much coming at you, I guess. Later it evens out, but the heat factor is odd.
I loved the mix of legends. There are a lot of great elements here pulled from other paranormal, supernatural and fae legends. Little bit Vamp, little bit Highlander. I loved the marriage of these elements and cannot wait to see where the series leads. There are many pots cooking here, which can also be a touch confusing. You have loads of information to sort through, not always pertinent to the present story. I am sure it will come into play in later books, but right now it was a lot to take in at once.
I loved Shawna and all her sass! She is a great character to read and mostly had her stuff together. Only a few moments where she forgot her common sense at home.
It was great trading POV with the leads and even getting insight into the big bad. It is always great for the reader to be on the inside and know everyone's motivation. It really makes the whole story more engaging.
There is a bit of steam, open bedroom door, but not full on erotic play by play. Plenty of heat though.
The big battle was a little but of a fizzle for me, so much build to have ended with a whimper.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Valerie Gilbert, who is fabulous! I love her voice on this series, a perfect fit. She adds great energy to the story and some very delicious accents as well. I loved listening to her and she keeps the story moving at slower moments.

    Entire Book was Incredible
Would you listen to Reckoning again? Why?
I devoured this book and finished it in a day. I was captivated by the story line from the start till the very end. It has enough twist and turns to keep you enthralled. Totally like all the characters but love Emma, Zack & Kallistos. Of course, I want to see Emma & Zack together but understand why they are not due to the curse Demeter put on Emma. I sympathize with Emma due to what Demeter has and continues to put her through. Kallistos character can be a callus bastard but I can totally understand why. I do like that you get to see why he is this way but you also get to see the good qualities he has. In the end I must say this entire book was incredible. The only thing left now is pray that there will be a 3rd book to the Fallen Siren series.
    Any additional comments?
Again have to say Johanna Parker does a great job narrating this book.
    Solid story
Solid story line and great narration. Like that each book continues with many of the same characters introduced in previous book.
    Very enjoyable!
I find the plot getting very interesting. The growing awareness of Armstrong that there is something between them and that he cannot understand why the distance towards him. I am sad that the curse is still there and. I hope the next book will be available soon.
    Great
I love these books. They kept my interest, can't wait for the next book in the series because it can't end here there has got to be more. The narrator was excellent . Most of you will remember her from the true blood series
    Awesome second book!
I love, love, love this series!!! There is so much going on and so many awesome levels. It has been a little while since the last book in the series, and I have forgotten a few things about the last book. There are plenty of reminders along the way, so if you did not read the first book, you will get caught up. But I definitely recommend reading the whole series in order.
Emma is a fabulous kick butt chick. I love that she is a Siren, I have always been a big fan of Greek mythology. This gives new levels to the myth and adds it to a modern setting. I kind of wish there were some of her sisters' stories as well.

    worst book this year
This has been the worst book I've listened to this year. I now have come to the conclusion all kindle unlimited books with audible for 2 dollars are absolute garbage. I suffered through to the ending because I can't read a book half way.
    Let cheesiness begin
So I was a little bored with this story. There wasn't much emotion expressed by the narrator and the instant attraction and the stuff the h & h had me rolling my eyes and laughing several times. eeks
    Diary of a Bibliophile Review
I thought this book was an excellent start to a fun YA series. The history of the town is really cool, and I can see how this can feed into many fun plot lines with unique characters. I almost wish more was done with the whole carney thing, but this is just the first book, and I'm sure we will get more of that later.
The love story between Tas & Michael was a little rushed for me, but that might be because I am a little tired of the whole "soulmates" thing. But teens do tend to fall in love quickly, so maybe I'm just being a crotchety old lady. I do have to say that the author did a great job of creating an emotional chemistry, while still keeping to a heat level that is appropriate for a YA audience.
Best of all, the writing of this story was really solid. There is nothing worse that poor editing pulling me out of a story, even in an audio format. That never happened here.
I hope the rest of the series makes it to audio!
    Overall, I give FEARLESS...
    Plot - 4 1/2 bookmarks
    Character development - 4 1/2 bookmarks
Love Story - 3 (Sorry, I'm jaded. You kids better get off my lawn!)
    Narration - 4 1/2 bookmarks
    Concept - 5 bookmarks
Dream Cast (otherwise known as who I pictured while reading) - Sophie Turner (Tasmyn), Hunter Parrish (Michael), Madalina Diana Ghenea (Ms. Lacusta), Lucy Hale (Nell)
I will not be bothering with Book II !!!
Is there anything you would change about this book?
    Just about everything
Would you recommend Fearless to your friends? Why or why not?
No....unless they were about fourteen years of age
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She read the book as if it was an English assignment. She garbled her way through the whole thing like she wanted to get it over and done with as soon as possible to go out to play!
Did Fearless inspire you to do anything?
    Apart from switching it off....no
    Any additional comments?
This book may have been endurable if it had a narrator who had some feeling in her voice and who took her time over reading it.

If you haven't heard all 3 books---
Would you listen to Ravaged again? Why?
Yun's don't know what your missing.
Yes, definitely would listen to them again. highly entertaining, great characters and having spent some time working/living in western PA the references to lingual and geographical areas was a bonus.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did, took one night of work to start and finish
    Quirky Characters
    Any additional comments?
This is a fun series full of quirky characters, and I love quirky characters. Ravaged ups the stakes for the characters and has a lot more action than other installments in The Hunger. Ravaged also involves some interesting character development and fully introduces some newish and definitely awesome characters.
Not your ordinary apocalyptic zombie story!
Would you listen to Ravaged again? Why?
I usually don't listen to anything twice!
What did you like best about this story?
I liked how the main characters are very believable - they behave like real people would. There's lots of books like this out there, but this series stands out because the author really develops the characters you can almost anticipate what they'll do next since they have real personalities - unusual in this genre.
Have you listened to any of Wayne Junes other performances before? How does this one compare?
Wayne June's delivery brings forth a certain air of believability and honesty to the character dialogue - I'd have a hard time listening to these stories with another narrator, since he really gets into the characters.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Don't be a dumbass!
    Any additional comments?
This book ties up a lot of loose ends, it almost seems like it could be a series finale, but who knows? That said, I'd recommend the entire 3 book series to anyone interested in a great story, believable characters, and pure entertainment. Top notch!
One of my top 5 favorite zombie series
If you could sum up Ravaged in three words, what would they be?
    awesome, badass and fun
What did you like best about this story?
The characters, the twists to keep things fresh and the narrator
What about Wayne Junes performance did you like?
All of it, he makes the characters come alive in my imagination
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    not really
Cass & her axe continue to carve a path!
Book 3 picks up roughly 1 month after Book 2 ends.

For generations, the Lenore women have manufactured a fragrance unlike any other. Hidden in the quiet rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, their perfumery guards unique and mysterious ingredients. A secret known only to a select clientele of movie stars, politicians, artists, and CEOs, the Lenores' signature elixir is the key to success for the world's most powerful women.

    A magical yet human story
I enjoyed this book. It was about a magical lineage. I found it to be quite interesting. 3 women, their lives, the challenges. It was a really good storyline. The narrator was also very professional. I liked it and it was worth the credit but something I cannot put my finger on was missing. I have no idea what. I listened in one sitting. The beginning captured me.
    Kind of a weird story...
This was a weird story. I feel like it had great potential, but it took some strange turns and I'm not entirely sure what the message was supposed to be in the end. The daughter who has trained her whole life to take over the family business ends up not being "the one" who is meant to. And then she triggers a curse with her actions (doing something that was forbidden by great great grandma) which results in a whole lot of punishment raining down on her. The other daughter who never cared for the business and has been away from home for 15 years ends up taking over because she's the one who's actually meant to, and then there's a weird twist where suddenly it's time for everyone to find a partner and procreate? But don't worry, they all end up happy in the end!
    Didn't want it to end.
I loved it. The story made me want to start making perfume. I wanted to hear more about the lives of the characters, it had a great ending, I just wanted more.
    Great Story: Not Great Characters
What did you like best about Season of the Dragonflies? What did you like least?
The storyline was imaginative and interesting. However, what was tough about this book was that most of the characters were just not very likable.

What a creative imagination! This author just floors me with her stories. This last book of the series I listened to straight thru today. This story is edgy and exciting & a definite page turner! Kudos to both author & narrator for a job well done!
What an ending to this series!
This book is absolutely crazy good! Nancy Straight certainly doesn't hold back the punches in the finale to this great series. This book definitely takes the reader to a darker place as Lauren and Max have to find a way to destroy Samael. He is an evil influence on those he possesses. The guilt Lauren and Max feel from the knowledge they released him onto the world is almost too much to handle! They strike out to destroy him with help from old and new friends. Will time run out before they can keep more innocent lives from being destroyed? Can they get the Council and the Committee to work together for everyone's greater good?
