In this tale, the chaos of Christmas Day has come and gone, and now everyone in this big house is asleep. That is, everyone except you and your husband's father. Your husband is lying beside you on the couch, drunk and snoring away, and perhaps that's for the best. You haven't been best pleased with him lately. You've been trying to get pregnant for years, and while you know you're fertile, he's too proud to admit he's not.

That's why it's difficult to just sit here beside your father-in-law, your one-time English teacher. He's always been such a good listener, and you've always had a crush on him (something you don't think you've hidden very well). If only there was something he could do to help you. You just want to crawl into daddy's lap and let him make it all better...
