Podcast #12 - The Higher Abilities of Neurodivergence in Emotional Intelligence
In this podcast I cover Emotional Intelligence (EI). EI has been co-opted by our workplaces. EI should focus on you and how you use your emotions to navigate the your life. EI should focus on how you use your emotions to better understand the world around you. EI should focus on getting you to the best place you can be for you. Instead we have made it into another Narcissistic tool to control those of us with higher empathy. However, the Gifted Neurodivergents (NDs) are born with enhanced EI functioning. Gifted NDs possess Embodied Cognition. Our science recognizes that children and animals have this ability. But it claims adults have two separate kinds of intelligence, EI and CI (Cognitive Intelligence).
My emotions and intellect work as one. I have embodied cognition. It is not a bad thing. It is a great thing. It is an advantage that will be highly valued in our near future. I believe many neurodivergents posses this and it keeps us from ever being fully conditioned by our system. It will also be a huge benefit as the amount of change in the world start to increase. We will be apart of the few who will be able to get ahead of what is coming if we embrace our embodied cognition.
In this podcast I reference the book, A Primate's Memoir by Robert Sapolsky

A great set of articles can be found on Neuroclastic explaining why people with autism can not be indoctrinated.

Here's how the recognition of emotions can relate to the highs and lows associated with emotional intelligence in the context of Brené Brown's books:
"The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are":
"Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead":
"Rising Strong: How the Ability to Reset Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead":
"Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone":
