Alright friends, as much as we love the State Fair here in Minnesota it’s also sort of the unofficial end to summer. Not sure about anyone else, but we are still over here wondering where the summer went! Time really seemed to fly by this year and we’re still trying to squeeze in some of our favorite summer things. Change of seasons also tends to mean a shift in the real estate market, but we’ve seen a little less of that in recent years here in Minnesota. The real estate market has cooled slightly, but we are still experiencing a lot of buyer demand in spite of the rising mortgage interest rates. When you couple that with rental prices and rental demand being extremely high there are still not a lot of signs that we are headed for a major downturn. In fact it still looks far more likely that we will see home prices continue to rise. We know a possible recession is still being thrown around, and understand some of the fears around that, but the market conditions in real estate are not setting up for a major fall. We still have buyer demand, sellers are sitting on equity, and there is not enough supply in a lot of areas. This week’s show is going to break it all down, update you on the facts and figures and make sure you’ve got all the info you need to be an educated buyer, seller or Realtor. Let’s dive in!
If you are running a brand, a business, or you’re a solopreneur, these days it can feel like all you are doing is writing or creating content ideas. We feel you! The creative work that now goes into running a successful online brand is a lot. Between social media, emails, and the emergence of video we are constantly looking for new and creative ways to package our content, and stay relevant in the online space so that we can try to break through the noise, and show up and best serve our clients with valuable information. So with all the work that can go into writing one post, or coming up with one video we obviously want to get as much mileage as we can out of everything we create. Repurposing content across multiple mediums and platforms is the best way to work smarter instead of harder, so you can spend more time working with clients and growing your business. On today’s show Kristi is going to share with you how to take one single idea and use it in 10 different ways so that not only do you not have to come up with 10 completely separate pieces of content it gives you a much higher percentage chance of that information actually finding its way to your targeted audience. Alright, if you’re ready let’s dive in!
Just about everyone has had to be brave or courageous at some point in their lives, and recently we had bravery come up a couple times in our personal lives for different reasons, and it got us thinking, what does being brave or courageous look like? A lot of times being brave gets attributed to doing something physically dangerous or frightening, but as women many of us will do things that aren’t physically dangerous and yet still require courage and we don’t give it a second thought. Maybe you are afraid to go ask your boss for a raise, to start your own business that you’ve always dreamed of, to quit your job and be a stay at home mom, or maybe it’s being vulnerable with a friend or partner. As women there are many ways that we display courage in business, as mothers and in our personal lives that don’t result in medals or trophies, but we do them nonetheless. In this weeks episode we are talking all about what bravery and courage looks like to us, and we’d love it you’d reach out to us on social, in our DMs or in an email and tell us what bravery and courage looks like to you. Let’s dive in!
One question we probably get more than any other right now is “Do you think the housing market is going to crash?” With inflation remaining high, and the stock market continuing to see a lot of volatility there has been no shortage of speculation that the real estate market is going to be the next domino to fall. Real estate has been on a historic run of appreciation over the last couple of years and at some point that does have to slow down, but in spite of the fact that it makes for good click bait, it doesn’t mean a real estate crash is what’s to come. What looks much more likely to happen is a shifting market from a sellers market to a more neutral market, and with time we see a shift back into a buyers market. On this week's podcast episode Beth is going to look at some of the facts and figures that are out there and give you her take on why the real estate market in 2022 is different from 2008, and why it is in fact still a good time to buy a house. Let’s dive in!
It’s Kristi’s birthday this week, so of course we are having a birthday celebration episode for her! Woot woot! Kristi turned 40 last year, and this year we are checking in on what her first year in her 40s was like. Kristi’s year has truly been an emotional rollercoaster. What started out with a 40th birthday bash as we were coming out of the pandemic, and getting ready to welcome a new baby in 2022, turned into a series of losses for Kristi that rocked her to the core. We talk about motherhood, recurrent miscarriage, marriage, and surviving what turned out to be a very difficult year as a mamapreneur. We also dove into what growth has looked like for her this year, what she’s looking forward to most during her next trip around the sun, how she’s working on staying grounded through it all.
You might need a tissue or two for this one, but we hope you will find some inspiration in it and join us in celebrating one amazing woman! Happy Birthday, Kristi! Let’s dive in.
We are just going to come right out and say it, repeat clients are the best clients. It doesn’t matter what business you’re in, working with people you know and like makes business so much more fun. In addition to making work feel like you’re just going to see friends it also maximizes your marketing ROI. Whether it’s real estate, or another industry it’s all about relationships, and if you want to increase your marketing ROI you want every relationship you build to become one where they come back to you again and again. But how do you get clients to become friends and work with you again and again? The first thing you’ve got to do is keep in touch. And we don’t mean some phony mailers to try to reel them in for the next sale, we mean checking in about what they’ve actually got going on in life, and keeping up with what they are doing and forming a genuine relationship. If you can actually create an authentic connection you won’t even have to sell them anything. For us it’s all about quality over quantity. This week we talk about how to actually build relationships that last and give you some ideas on how to keep in touch. Let’s dive in!
If you know us at all you know we love the Gram. It is probably our favorite social platform out there. We are halfway through the year already, and we are not quite sure how that happened?!?
We would love to come on this week and share all about how we are crushing our goals and owning 2022, but that’s not exactly the case. Instead we are here to give ourselves some grace and give you a gentle reminder that it might be time to give yourself some too, if things haven’t gone exactly as planned this year.
Today we are sharing what has happened in our lives personally and professionally, what we have enjoyed this year, why we are feeling like things just haven’t clicked for either of us and how we plan to get ourselves back on track. There is no reason to give up just because life has thrown some curveballs your way and you aren’t where you wanted to be with whatever your goals are.
You’re still here, you’ve got today, you’ve got the whole rest of the year and there is no reason you can’t make the most out of the time you have. We hope we can hold some space for you today and give you some encouragement to keep going.
Let's dive in!
You don’t have to look very hard these days to realize the economy has taken a big shift in recent months. Inflation is running rampant, prices on just about everything have gone up, the stock market is down, and of course real estate is not immune from the macro market forces at work. Mortgage interest rates have gone up over the last couple months, and housing inventory is increasing, and the historic hot market we have been in is starting to cool off a little bit. The housing market cooling down is not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you’re a buyer. Yes, you are looking at higher interest rates than a year ago, but inventory is inching up, prices are decelerating, not decreasing, and there is less competition. Instead of competing with 15 offers buyers are only competing with 2-4. And guess what? Home inspections are back! This is great for buyers. Sellers on the other hand, you are going to have to do a little more work to sell your house than a year ago. You’re going to have to make sure it’s cleaned up, it presents well, and it’s priced right. All that being said, we are not seeing signs of a major downturn, the market is just moving back to a more neutral place than it has been the last few years. Have no fear, we are here to give you some tips to help guide you to success whether you are buying or selling. Let’s dive in!
Here in Minnesota our summers are pretty short, and we cherish them deeply, so we are doing a little happy dance over here now that summer has finally arrived. We know summers bring busy schedules with kids out of school, summer vacations, weekends on the lake, and happy hour with friends. It’s easy to want to slack off and let your business fall to the back burner, but in real estate summer is obviously a busy time for buying and selling, and you’ve also got to keep working on building your business.
We know checking off that summer bucket list is important, as it should be, but as entrepreneurs we still have to find ways to stay productive, not hit that summer slowdown, and make sure we are continuing to fill our pipeline for later in the year when things start to cool off a little bit. One of the biggest things is just simply keeping in touch with clients, making sure you keep yourself on people’s minds, so that even if they don’t need a Realtor this summer when they do need one later in the year you haven’t been forgotten. We hope everyone has had a great start to their summers, and we hope to see you at a happy hour or barbeque somewhere, but for now let’s dive into the show!
