Cielo Glamping Maritime in New Brunswick Canada, is a success story from the Americas. Pat, together with his partner Emilie, is the co-owner of a four-season eco-tourism accommodation site that opened in January 2019. Since its launch, they have enjoyed fantastic reviews from guests, abundant coverage from the media and a social media following to be admired.

But how did they do it?

About Cielo

Cielo is located on the shore of St. Simon's Bay where guests can enjoy the sunset from one of the five luxurious domes, which they have nicknamed the 'Pearls'. They each offer full facilities for guests and local activities, together with the creativity of the Hub, which completes the guest experience.

The glamping site also includes an ample garden space where they produce vegetables, berries and edible flowers to be transformed in the kitchen at Cielo, making it a destination for tourists and local people who want to explore their menu featuring delicious creations.

Their vision was always to demonstrate the amazing location they feel privileged to call home and showcase the local businesses, producers and creators they partner with. Very few people talk about this when starting a unique outdoor guest accommodation or glamping business. This is step one and if you get this bit wrong in your start-up journey you will constantly come across barriers when trying to achieve early business success.
