This week on the podcast we’ll come around God’s beautiful invitation to REST. This rest isn’t just the gift of sleep or the pause of a Sabbath day—it’s the deep, soul-stirring rest that only comes when we surrender to God’s unfailing love, who is Jesus. 

As long as it is called “Today,” God beckons us to lay down the weight of our own efforts, and to find our peace and our pace in His way, His heart. And even when wrestle or get it wrong, His mercies are endless, His invitation still currently just as present as the air we breathe! I’ll talk to you soon!

I was a bit reflective this week on the podcast, and for good reason! Nate and I are celebrating 30 years of marriage while also walking into a new season of the house growing quieter. I’ll share what I’m learning about the quiet and what the quiet stirs in us, if we’ll let it. 

I’ll also share the story behind the song Tick Tock (God of My Days) — a lullaby for every age, a rhythm of belonging— 🕰️✨It’s about remembering that our moments, no matter how small, are threaded with purpose and are a gift from God. From sunrise to sunset, our days were made for the praise of His glorious grace!

Today we will let several places in Scripture remind us of all the reasons that we have to rest in our King and His Kingdom, especially when it’s time to lay our head down on our pillow at night. Why is this so often when our minds race, our worries stir, and our doubt rise? 

I share about some of my own struggles with sleep, but how learning to shift my mind and heart to truth (in addition to a couple of practical habits that partner with the truth!) I have experienced significant breakthrough! I’m so grateful that Jesus is holding this big, broken world (and anything broken in our own little world) so we can just  b r e a t h e.  I’ll talk to you soon!

If you need to be encouraged today that God really does care about the details of your life, that He really is better than we know, this episode is for you. He’s working, even when we don’t see it. He’s good, even when we don’t feel it. He is sanity, clarity and calm, right in the middle of our chaotic pace. And when we ask Him for His Kingdom perspective, order and life, He answers! We live in a world that runs at an unsustainable pace. As a result of this, you and I end up hosting this deep weariness and fatigue in our heart and soul. If we’re not careful, we’ll burn out and miss the beautiful opportunity of bearing witness to God’s goodness, grace and love to those around us and under our care.

Today we’ll talk about inviting God to bring His “Kingdom Order” over our lives, our days, and even our to-do lists! When we invite Him in, He really does show up on our behalf. When we surrender to Him, we find His strength and capacity flowing through us once more. I’ll talk to you soon!

Today we will remember together the incredible calling and identity that we have as God’s “witnesses” to this broken and hurting world. And it’s more than just about telling people about God, in fact, I don’t know if that was ever really the plan…

God‘s presence with us and in us, has always been the plan. And because this is experiential and transformational, we end up bearing witness to the beautiful, personally nuanced, “withness” of God…the One who knows us and loves us …right in the middle of our mundane! I’ll talk to you soon.

Today we’re coming around my release of Fly the Nest Song (Carry You) which is a song that has truly helped me mark this moment of our kids “flying the nest.” There’s a lot to hold in this bittersweet season of letting go! We can hold truth or lies, peace or anxiety, freedom or fear. 

Even if you’re not launching kids into this world, we can all still learn to grow in the letting go of things we want and people we love. And if we have eyes to see it, God is always leading us and inviting us to release with freedom and trust that His way is better than we know!

Okay wow, I bawled through the preparing of this one, y’all! Get ready to hear about a moment of great celebration in our family’s life together. But my prayer is that in the telling of it, you are deeply encouraged today that you have a God who knows you and loves you and CALLS you.

It is wonderful to be back with you this spring as we explore together what life in God looks like, even on our most ordinary days!
