Season 9 has been such a joy! Thank you so much for coming alongside me in celebrating my new album “Captivate Us: Live from Keeper’s Branch.” I have so loved sharing the stories and seasons behind these songs and it’s been good for my heart to remember God’s faithfulness, all through the years!

Today we will come around the song The Purest Place and what it looks like to actively, even fiercely, guard the purity of our hearts…so that the Kingdom of God might advance in us, and through us!

It has been such a joy to spend this spring with you on the podcast, as we’ve come around my new album, “Captivate Us; Live from Keeper’s Branch!” I’ve loved remembering the stories and truths behind these songs! And today, we’ll come around one that Nathan and I wrote as a genuine prayer for our family during an election year! 

“A Mighty Fortress” has been an anthem for our family in learning to set our eyes on Jesus, especially when the distractions and confusion set in! I hope you’ll join me as we look to God together today…our Hope, our Stronghold our Fortress! I’ll talk to you soon!

In celebration of the full ALBUM RELEASE “Captivate Us” (available tomorrow, everywhere you listen to music!) we are going to come around this tried and true song that still carries so much heart and history in my story! This song is very descriptive of who Jesus is, even describing His face, His eyes, His hands, His loving arms—and though we don’t see Him now in the physical sense—I wonder if it helps prepare us for the day that we will see Him face to face! This song is really a “glorious in the mundane” kind of prayer, that I believe like 1 Peter 1 says, “guards us through faith, for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time!” I’ll talk to you soon!

It has been SO beautiful to get to share these songs (and stories behind the songs!) but most importantly, the truth imbedded in them! Today we are going to look at “For Your Splendor,” a new version of a tried and true song that is deeply personal to me. I’d even venture to say that it’s quintessential when it comes to my sound and heart as a worshiper!

It is from Isaiah 61, and we’ll come around the vital posture of being planted in the Lord, and staying deeply connected to Him at our roots! Even though we might feel small, even cold and bare, we can be assured that we’ll still be standing in the storm! I’ll talk to you soon!

I have LOVED this spring series so much! God has been reminding me of truth that He set in my heart, so long ago, knowing that I would need that truth to wash over me again, TODAY! We are going to remember together, that God always knows where to find us. Though there’s much temptation to just skip being made in the secret place (especially when we see the world around us charging forward!) God is preparing us, protecting us and will promote us when we wait in trust for Him. 

We will also look into the connection of God’s presence being one of the central ways that we are able to remain in the love of God, as Jesus commanded us. It’s going to be a beautiful time to even receive His love over us once more! I’ll talk to you soon!

Today we are celebrating the release of another EP called “Knees to the Earth,” which is the next three songs from the "Live from Keeper's Branch" album  that we are unfolding this spring! Not only are these songs so sacred to us, many of them have very sacred stories behind them and today’s song emphasis, “Knees to the Earth,” is definitely one of those kind of stories! You don’t want to miss it! 

And you know me, it’s never just about the song or its story, but it’s always about the truth that’s set in them! Today we’ll keep coming around what it looks like to bloom where we are planted, even when it’s hidden and hard! We’ll encourage each other in waiting on the Lord, as we also learn to look for the ways He is speaking to us, leading us and is with us, as we’re being “made” in the secret! I’ll talk to you soon!

Okay so…somehow this episode got really personal! Did I actually just reveal what I want my “Grandma” name to be, someday? 

Or, maybe it feels personal because this song, “Lord, I Need You”, that we’ll come around today, is very dear to me! I’ll talk about being a part of writing it around a table of dear friends, who have been more like brothers to me. But, I’ll also give you some insight into being the only woman at that table, and in that community, for a very long time. It was both a privilege and a pruning ground that God used to grow me as a woman, songwriter and leader. 

I’ll also begin a narrative that I’ll carry throughout some of the other episodes this spring, about the very beginnings of God calling me to songwriting and worship leading. Rather than doors flying open and me, running with momentum, it was more a still—even sometimes silent and hidden—beginning. It was more that God had given me a deposit and a promise of something that was to come. But, of course, the way in which He’d have me carry that out, was to wait on Him to unfold the story in the way that only He could! I’ll talk to you soon!

I am so excited to continue this spring series, coming around my new EP,  “You Revive Me”, available everywhere you listen to music! Y’all know me by now, that these songs are simply a diving board for us to plunge into the deep together! Into the glorious things of God…right in the middle of our mundane!

Today we will do just that, as we come around the beautiful offering that each of us have to bring, in worship of our King. In each episode, we’re taking the time to put into practice the truth we’re remembering together. 

Today we’ll ask God to help us visualize— and therefore, hopefully value— the offering that our lives and hearts truly are to Him!

It has been so beautiful to get to release some new, yet familiar—even tried and true songs—in this season! One of those is the song, “Breathe” paired with another beloved song, “Let it Be Jesus.”

Today, I’ll take you back to the seasons I was in when I first began to sing and lead both of these beautiful songs. They were very significant seasons in my life and in my spiritual formation, and to merge them together on this new album is such a joy. It’s amazing how songs can truly become guideposts and guardrails in our journey, even a gateway to surrendering more of our heart to God’s heart! 

We’ll kind of walk through that gateway together, using these two songs, and talk about how God wants these proclamations we sing to become realities in our hearts and lives. “God, I breathe Your Name above everything,” is more than just a beautiful lyric! It’s a posture of resolve and rest, and a deep trust that everything we need is found in Jesus.

Today we will kick off a spring series in celebration of NEW (but familiar!) music—my EP “You Revive Me”, releases THIS WEEK wherever you listen to music!

I’ve named today’s episode “Up ‘Till Now”, because this album (that will continue to unfold throughout the spring) feels like an Ebenezer moment, to stop and say, “Up ‘till now, the Lord has been our help!” He has been so faithful, so kind and true, even through some of the hardest seasons in life.

Also, as promised, today I will share with you what I wrote and read at my precious Mama’s celebration of life! I hope that it will help remind you of your own legacy that you are leaving, or perhaps even help define it!
