Four years after a devastating injury, short track speed skater Kristen Santos will make her Olympic debut this February. Fresh off a dominant performance at U.S. Olympic Trials, Kristen caught up with “On Her Turf” co-hosts Lindsay Czarniak and MJ Acosta-Ruiz about how that 2017 injury helped her shift her goal from wanting to just qualify for the Olympics… to wanting to win an Olympic medal. Plus, Kristen shares the catch phrase she uses to calm her nerves before races.

This June marks 50 years since Title IX passed into law. While many advancements have been made, issues of inequity continue to persist in women’s sports. Ahead of the anniversary NBC News and NBC Sports have launched In Their Court, a five-part podcast hosted by U.S. Olympic medalist, Ibtihaj Muhammad, that explores the evolution of Title IX through the eyes of one, pivotal sport: women’s basketball. This series will feature the stories of the women who, over the past 50 years, fought for Title IX, advanced it, and are now using their voices to pay it forward on and off the court.
