  • #30 Dr. Andrew Hopkins – optimal health through fitness and nutrition education

You guys are in for a treat today.  That is because I have a special guest Dr. Andrew Hopkins.

We will be discussing optimal fitness through nutrition and education.

Dr Hopkins — or “Doctor Andy,” as we all call him — is from Southern New Jersey. He attended Stockton College, and while pursuing his Bachelors in Human Biology with a minor in Biochemistry, he developed ulcerative colitis. While in chiropractic school at the National University of Health Sciences, he did the traditional treatments like prednisone and medication. However, after graduation in 2000, he lost all his hair and developed psoriatic cirrhiosis that abraded his hands and feet badly. His doctors kept telling him that it wasn’t about nutrition, but he thought, “Maybe I should find out for myself.” Through workshops and self-directed research, he learned enough about nutrition to get his autoimmune conditions under control. That gave him a passion for health through nutrition, so he pursued it at the Natural Healing Institute of Naturopathy, graduating as a Clinical Nutritionist in 2004.

  • #29 Stefan Cox and Adam Fernandez – Misconceptions about crossfit, what it is, and why it’s for everyone

You guys are in for a treat today.  That is because I have two special guests and we will be talking about misconceptions about crossfit, what it is and why it’s for everyone.

Adam Fernandez – When he discovered Crossfit in 2006 he found my passion. Since then, he spent nearly every moment of my spare time seeking perfection in movement. As he continued to develop as an athlete, he found that helping others gave him just as much excitement as performing the workouts.

Stephan Cox – He’s been an athlete most of my life, playing tennis, golf, soccer and lacrosse all throughout his younger years, and he was fortunate enough to play golf at the collegiate level.  he has been both an athlete and a coach for many years, but it wasn’t until he found CrossFit that the fire in his belly was stoked once again.
