Many of us have been tricked into believing we are valued for what we do, not who we are. And this creates deep anxiety.

And in some of Jesus’s final words, Jesus made sure we knew that we are valued because we are God’s friends.

And as friends of God, we have been chosen by Him.

We are loved by Him.

We matter to Him.

That’s the foundation of our lives.

As you listen to this meditation, I pray that you will be reminded that you are loved because you are a friend of God.

And even when you fall short, because we all will, you will not let the enemy use that to create fear and anxiety in your life, but you will release this shortcoming and turn back to God in love.

Because, as a true friend, you have nothing to worry about.

John 15:14–17 NLT

You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
