Evening Meditation
Love is something we all long for—and yet, it’s easy to make it all about what we receive. In tonight’s reflection, Kyle Norman challenges us to consider love not as a feeling, but as an action—a life laid down for others, just as Jesus laid down His life for us.
Reflecting on 1 John 3:16, Kyle writes:
“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for each other.”
He reminds us that the deepest experience of God’s love isn’t just about feeling it—it’s about living it out. It’s about serving others, showing grace, and sacrificing our comfort to bless those around us. In a world that often measures love by what we get, this passage calls us to express God’s love in tangible ways—a love that is humble, selfless, and redemptive.
🧭 Main Takeaways
Learn that true love isn’t just about what we feel, but what we do—how we serve and sacrifice for others.
Discover that the fullness of God’s love is experienced as we give it away, just as Jesus did.
Be challenged to see love as a calling, not just a comfort—a divine invitation to live like Jesus.
Find hope in knowing that God’s love flows through us, reaching others in ways we might never imagine.

🙏 Your Nightly Prayer
Dearest Jesus,
Thank You for the love that You show me through Your sacrifice on the cross. Thank You for the love that exists for me, always, in all places. Your love for me is steadfast and true, as You are faithful to Your love.
Lord, You know that there are times in my life when the pressures and weights of this world seem to quench my own reception of Your love. May Your love captivate me. But Lord, I pray this not so that I can rest easily in Your love, but so that I can feel Your call to lay my life before others in loving service.
Help me to see the places where Your love calls me to reach out to others, to serve as You served, to bless as You blessed. May Your love move me past my zones of comfort and give me the boldness to incarnate Your love in this world.
This I pray in the name of Jesus, my example, and my Lord.
Amen.
