I realize that humility is not a lesson one is most eager to learn. I know it's not a very pleasant place when you identify areas of pride in your life.  It's not very pleasant, but it is OH, SO SWEET that God would take us here and that He would do this work in our lives. If we would just yield to Him and let Him have His way, our lives would be changed forever.

If ye continue in My Word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free... IF the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:31-32, 36).  

Your freedom is not conditional on whether God wants you to be free or not. It's not conditional on whether Jesus makes you free or not. Your freedom is conditional on you - whether you choose to receive His truth or not, and whether or not you choose to continue in His Word.  

Please don't dismiss this, thinking, "I am already free. I'm saved. This scripture isn't for me." If you look at the scripture, you will see in verse 31 that Jesus was speaking to Jews that believed in Him. This Word was for believers - not for sinners (though they can benefit, too!).

Because pride is so self-absorbed, it is often difficult to identify in oneself. Thus, it is easy to think we are walking in humility when we really are not.  

In this Bible Study session, Katherine shares some indicators of pride. As you listen, locate yourself. Humble yourself before the Lord and allow Him to work on you in the areas He quickens to you. God is faithful. Faithful is He Who calleth you, Who also will do it (I Thes. 5:24).

Many times when God calls us to do something, it can be scary. But did you know that as children of God, we have the right - the AUTHORITY, POWER, AND PRIVILEGE (wow!) to totally depend on Him??!! Selah! (See John 1:12.)

We are created in God's image. We're created just like Him. We can operate just like God. Adam lost that in the Garden when he ate of the fruit, but Jesus got it back. I think a lot of Christians missed the memo: JESUS GOT IT BACK. Thus, we have the authority that God gave us.

Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh (II Cor. 10:3). We are to operate in the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm supersedes the natural realm!
