We're trained unfortunately to give people what they want to see and tell people what they want to hear.
Just enough, that they won't see the thoughts, the questions, the fears, the doubts, the insecurities, the grief, the anger, all of the REAL that we're actually carrying at any given time.
The logic is that this keeps us safe and empowered, but the opposites are true--it shuts down our feelings and power.
Even after trauma, positive growth is possible and actually expected. While it can be facilitated through counseling, it doesn't have to be.
Until next time,
Stay blessed!

Rationalizing....oooooweeee, it sounds good right? We can be so convincing when we tell people exactly what they need to hear to leave us alone, or we create an excuse for why we didn't show up or follow-through.
What we're really doing though...we're partnering with lies and oddly surprised that we're not getting the outcomes we desire in different areas of our lives.
Rational lies are subtle, just like how the enemy likes to operate.
Keep this in mind:
The frequency of fear reduces our lives in so many ways.
The frequency of faith and partnering with God's vibes levels up our lives.
When them enemy tries to tempt you to go low and play small, go higher.
This Spirit-Filled Real Talk episode is gold. Block time to take it on your walk, listen in your car ride, whatever you gotta' do. Bless yourself and make it happen!

When we think of changing our lives, we often thing we need a mighty vision or a list of big goals.
Often, we radically transform our lives by overcoming the limiting patterns that were holding back, by the smallest degree each day.
What's the smallest thing you can do to support yourself, to accomplish that mission or to follow-through today?
Ask that consistently and you'll start to develop a daily consistency plan. It's not a huge list of goals, it's showing up for yourself and honoring your word.
Changing your approach starts with changing your focus.
Whatever you focus on you will magnify and whatever you magnify you will empower.
Take 10 minutes and reflect on what you've been magnifying in different areas of your life--for better or for worse.
List 10 ways you can change your approach.
Choose 1 and be consistent with it for the next 30 days and watch what happens!
Until next time,
Stay blessed!

Leaving the self out of your spiritual development results in a spirituality that is not well grounded in experience.
Focusing on God while failing to know ourselves deeply may produce and external form of piety, but it will always leave a gap between appearance and reality.
Self-knowledge that is pursued apart from knowing our identity in relationship to God easily leads to self-inflation. It can also lead to self-preoccupation.
Unless we spend as much time looking at God as we spend looking at our self, our knowing of our self will simply draw us further into an abyss of self-fixation.
It's also quite possible to be stuffed with knowledge of God that does nothing to help us genuinely know either God or self. Having information about God is no more transformational than having information about love.
Deep knowing of God and deep knowing of self always develop interactively.
What have you learned about yourself as a result of your experience with God?
And what do you know about God as a result of genuine encounter with your self?
Self-discovery is an invitation to move beyond objective knowledge to personal knowing. It's an invitation to deep personal encounter and to truly know God.
Until next time,

Are you living with passion and purpose?
Would you say your relationships are full of passion and purpose?
Interestingly enough, the very things we want to create and experience in our lives are what we live completely disconnected from. Sometimes we don't know better and sometimes we do, we just choose not to do the work and use our tools.
A hard heart is often what blocks us from receiving and flowing in love. Without love, we choose fear (high-achievers call this stress) and experience results in our life that look quite the opposite of what we deeply value and desire.
Today, we're breaking down your next breakthrough. Go listen, re-listen, take notes and share with a friend!

Shame is NOT something you'd consider to be positive in any way.
It's often an emotion we want to deny or annihilate when we experience it.

This is a BIG one. Go give it a listen and share it with a friend or two!

All the feels...
Emotions are powerful, we know this by personal experience. What's also powerful is developing the awareness to recognize that there is a lot more going on in our insides that's driving the emotions we experience.
While it's easier to blame other people and circumstances for the way we feel, it's a lie.
The truth is, when you develop a practice of thinking about what you're thinking about and renewing your mind with truth, you can see all of the ways you've been giving your power away and get back on the path to freedom.
Let's start today!
Until next time,

We don't need facts to create thoughts and feelings...
Often when we feel overwhelmed in life, it has a lot to do with what we are making "true" and a "fact" in our lives. While feeling and thoughts can feel true, they're usually not at all.
Overwhelm can indicate that we haven't been consistent with consecrating ourselves or disconnecting.
With healthy space in our lives to reflect, process, examine, explore, create and be...we begin to see things differently and change not only our thoughts and feelings but the "facts."
Until next time,
