In this episode, I share the journey of losing my Grandma, my Lola, and what it’s been like to be in the Philippines with my family for her funeral. Along the way, I’ve been connecting with traditions I never knew, asking questions, and learning so much about my culture. But most of all, I want to honor my Lola by sharing the lessons she left us: to give generously, to keep the faith, and to never stop dancing.
I also open up about grief, how it comes in waves, why their love never truly leaves us, and how talking about the people we’ve lost keeps their spirit alive. If you’re going through grief right now, I hope this episode brings you comfort and a reminder that we’re never spiritually separated from the ones we love.
