Going West: True Crime

In November of 2021, a 39-year-old man vanished in Los Angeles during an Uber ride across the city in broad daylight. He texted 911 for help along his way, but when the dispatcher reached out, he didn’t respond. He never arrived at his destination, and was never seen again, despite his driver claiming he had been dropped off. But as of this week, some answers have come to the case. This is the story of Beau Mann.

In March of 2023, a young mom of two dropped her children off at daycare, returned home, and then seemingly vanished from inside her own house. The father of her children, with whom she shared the house, borrowed her car to run errands, and claims he returned to find her gone. But if that really is how the day went, as he described, why was her car seen driving down the highway in the opposite direction of their home? And why has he refused to assist in the search efforts? This is the story of Madeline Kingsbury.

In April of 1994, an 18-year-old woman was abducted from her job in upstate New York. After rumors spread that she had been buried in the woods, and the potential wrongful imprisonment of the prime suspect, police revealed that the young woman was hiding pertinent information from her inner circle that may have led to her death. This is the story of Heidi Allen.

In July of 2020, an 18-year-old man was run over by his own truck in a supposed “freak accident”. But when none of the evidence at the scene suggested that that was what had actually happened, suspicions fell on his father. Disturbing information about his father has come out since that fateful day, as the family continues to fight for justice for him, as well as what happened to his sister. This is the story of Grant Solomon.

In June of 2011, a young man fell 17 stories to his death out of his Oklahoma apartment window. Surprisingly, his pregnant wife admitted to pushing him out, but claims it was an accident. After being put on trial and imprisoned, she was found dead in her cell, and although her death was ruled a suicide, her family strongly disagrees, and believes it was a murder. These are the stories of Amber and Josh Hilberling.

In July of 2015, an 18-year-old woman ran from her parents’ New Jersey home during an argument, and never returned. Just hours after being captured on a security camera heading in the direction of the woods, her remains were recovered on a nearby train track. Although it appeared, at first glance, that she had been hit by a train and killed, her family believes that this was a cover up for her murder. This is the story of Tiffany Valiante.
