Good Mourning: The Many Faces of Grief – The Impact Of Murder On A Family
She was a stay-at-home mom, providing day care in order to remain at home raising her own children until the unthinkable happened. A knock on the door one evening shattered her dream life. In a single moment, her life changed forever as she learned of the murder of her 18 year old son who was robbed and shot to death in October of 1991.
Lost in unrelenting grief and fearing for the survival of her family, Beckie Miller, of Phoenix, Arizona found hope by getting involved with the national organization, Parents of Murdered Children. (www.POMC.org) Using her grief as a catalyst, Beckie has become a voice for victims services and has worked tirelessly for the past 20 years providing a place of sanctuary, hope and healing for the families and friends of those who have died by violence.
Join me as we meet Beckie, an activist in grief support services, a bereaved mother, a writer and someone who has found a way to move from survive to thrive.
