Full Hour | In today’s second hour, Dom brings things local on the Dom Giordano Program, telling that the family of slain Temple University officer Chris Fitzgerald has called for the death penalty for his killer. This leads Dom into a conversation about the death penalty, explaining why progressives are so vehemently against capital punishment, even when things seem as clear cut as this case.
Then, Dom welcomes in Dr. Joel Fitzgerald, father of fallen Temple Sergeant Chris Fitzgerald, to hear why he and his family have called for the death penalty in the case against their his son’s murderer, who seemingly came to Philadelphia for the sole purpose of committing crime. Fitzgerald is also joined by Carlos Vega, a longtime mainstay in the District Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, until he was let go by current DA Larry Krasner. Vega and Fitzgerald tell what they’d like to see out of both Krasner and Governor Josh Shapiro, and explain why this is much deeper than solely receiving justice for Chris, with a deeper impact for all citizens of Philadelphia.
