Jamie just slid over 140m on his wakeboard to smash a world record, and while that is impressive, it was a much easier trick than he initially wanted to do. We dive deep into what it takes to put together a big Red Bull production like this, and how plans have to change when you can’t legally do what you initially wanted to. Few riders have battled as many injuries as young as Jamie has, and that hasn’t seemed to slow him down much, because when he’s on the water he’s a weapon. The growth and legitimization of wakeboarding in Germany cannot be tracked to one individual, but a group effort, and Momo has been at the forefront of that push for over a decade. Mikayo Mundy could still be technically be considered an up and comer on the cable scene, but he’s been around for over a decade. Recently, Mikayo has just been getting back into riding after taking some time off due to injury, and his journey to rediscover wakeboarding, and what it means to him, is a fascinating one. Benni Suess has done more for the sport of cable wakeboaridng in Germany than just about any one individual. Benni and his family opened up one of the first cable parks in Germany, and they have continued to expand their operations since the parks inception in 1976. While Benni got his start at 4 years old on a pair of skis, and did pursue competitive waterskiing, it was when wakeboarding came around that he felt at home.
