Pentecostal worship culture often teaches that losing control is proof the Holy Spirit is moving, and David’s dance seems to be their main justification. In this episode, we break down what Scripture actually says about David’s worship, why “undignified” doesn’t mean chaotic, and how the Holy Spirit never produces disorder or self-promotion. We examine how David’s wife, Michal, has been unfairly demonized to shame anyone who won’t participate in performative worship. Prayer is a beautiful privilege in Scripture. But high-control, Pentecostal churches often twist it into a quota, a ritual, and a fear-based performance. In this episode, we expose how church leaders distort prayer into a work, a weapon, a decree, and even a “doorway” to miracles and breakthrough. We play clips that show just how manipulative prayer teaching can get, especially when it’s used to control behavior and keep people tethered to the system. January is open fasting season in Oneness Pentecostalism. Complete with promised breakthroughs, pressure from the pulpit, and guilt for anyone who doesn’t participate. In this episode, we walk through what the Bible actually shows about fasting, and why it was never meant to be a bargaining chip with God. We look at the dangers of transactional fasting, superstitious promises, and the shame many believers carry when they “don’t do it right.” Then we contrast that with healthy, grace-centered fasting rooted in humility, dependence, and wisdom. This end-of-year episode pulls together everything we’ve exposed throughout 2025 about pastors. It isn’t to relive the damage, but to show how predictable abusive leadership really is. We walk through the repeated patterns of spiritual abuse in churches we’ve seen: unquestionable authority, emotional manipulation, spiritual fear, loyalty tests, and relentless image protection. Using clips, scripture, and real conversations, we demonstrate how the same blueprint keeps resurfacing across churches, pastors, and platforms, and why recognizing it matters. We also talk about how Jesus leads very differently, offering grace, truth, and freedom rather than fear and control.
