From overbearing MOGs  (“men of God”) who demand obedience and loyalty, to pulpits filled with control, threats, and manipulation, we’re exposing the dark side of Pentecostal leadership culture. Using real sermon clips, we reveal how these pastors twist shepherding into servitude, while calling it “spiritual authority.” Then, we open Scripture to show what biblical leadership actually looks like: humble, servant-hearted, and accountable. In this episode, we expose how Pentecostal churches often preach about love while practicing something different. Using Joel Holmes’ sermon from FPCNLR as our example, we break down how “love” is redefined as nepotism, performance, numbers, hype, holiness, and even fear. We contrast each of these distortions with the true love described in 1 Corinthians 13. Love that is patient, kind, humble, truthful, and most importantly, sacrificial, like Jesus. Many who enter Pentecostal churches searching for God’s love instead encounter conditional, performative, or weaponized versions that wound instead of heal. Join us as we reveal the difference between counterfeit love and the genuine love of Christ, which sets us free.
