To the senior men, he says to be sober, serious, and healthy. To the senior women, he admonished them not to be given to gossip and to be sober-minded and to teach the young women how to love their husbands and children and to be Godly keepers of the home. To the young men, he also says to be sober-minded. All this brings us to verse seven, where he tells them that to implement these things, they have to demonstrate a life that exemplifies it. To live a life that is pleasing to God. It is not enough to have a checklist of good works, but we must have a life that shows young men the rewards of living a Godly life. It is this pattern of good works that present a life to people that cause them to wonder what we have, and how they can live a life like that too.
