Not great

Would you try another book written by Veronica Henry or narrated by Anna Bentinck?

I love Anna Bent ink and I have specifically search for books narrated by her. I have thoroughly enjoyed other veronica Henry books but this one lacked something.

What was most disappointing about Veronica Henrys story?

I think it was the momentum of the story.

Would you be willing to try another one of Anna Bentincks performances?

Think I've listened to most of them as I love the character voices she uses.

It was just lacking something for me.

Very enjoyable, easy listening.

I really enjoyed this book, the writing was very good, moving seamlessly from character to character. The story lines where strong and held detailed information of each person involved.

Beautifully narrated, defiantly recommend.

Summertime chick lit

The way that Veronica Henry brings together several stories portrayed in one venue always makes me enjoy her writing. It's lighthearted brain fluff and just what I need after a few heavy titles. Satisfying endings too. Perfect summertime listening.

It was escapism. Overall I mostly got what I expected

Made me want to travel on the Orient Express before I die. Loved the description of the travel. Very well narrated. Storylines not quite as good as The Long Weekend. But overall a chic lit story that I could escape into. A bit sugary & lack of depth as the 1st one I read. But I was happy enough with it.

Save your time and money

I give the author credit for an interesting premise and carrying it through to the end, but the story is quite lacking. It all plays out from a perspective that cant seem to consider the complexities of human societal interaction. As is so often seen in amateur dystopian fiction, everything seems to fall in to place for the author's voluntaryist vision at first. Plenty of resources and cooperation from all, then people start voting stupidly, entirely forgetting about the reasons they began the experimental utopia. Its very shallow and happens far to quickly. Sadly, this premise could have been better exploited. This is no Animal Farm.

A great Orwellian tale from a smart young author

A great Orwellian tale from a smart young author, Stephen Aaron Grey, his first novel, "Ant Farm" articulates brilliantly the question of how far freedoms should be extended before the concept implodes and causes uncontrollable havoc. Grey's story deals with a group of ants who escape from a brutal, restrictive world ruled by domineering cockroaches. The ants dream of a utopia which ultimately becomes unobtainable. As the satirical tale unfolds, "Ant Farm" addresses issues such as the current global economic crisis, gun control and national security. The book's insights are sure to spur conversation and much like Orwell's "Animal Farm," should become a classic as it intelligently weighs the cost liberty.

Not your run-of-the-mill book

A very refreshing read, unlike any other book I've ever read. The subject is one that everyone can identify with and relate to. I'm going to suggest this book to my book club because its a great conversation starter with thought-provoking subject matter. This book is a reminder of how easy it is to become complacent and obedient when an individual or entity shows force. My kids have almost reached school age, and I am particularly attune to teaching them not to blindly follow authority without questioning and challenging first. I would definitely recommend this book to parents, grandparents, students, book club members, and anyone else!

I would recommend this book.

This book had a lot more characters to keep track of, which was a little confusing at times. I felt it was more descriptive, that was nice as I learned what a honey badger was and learned about some of the other animals and trees in Africa. I liked how Jethro met his end by his own doing, by the animal that he resembled because of his actions.

A Saga Novel

Although it can stand alone, this saga novel is best enjoyed as the third in the series of novels by Suzanne Popp. New characters are introduced and familiar characters from previous novels reappear. As an American I found the cultural differences intriguing and at times baffling. I think the author managed to educate me, unawares, on many of the perils of this foreign land through the magic of story telling.

Awesome Book

I have many astounding thoughts about this book. Within each chapter, I found myself giggling incessantly. A book isn't a good book unless it has sort of comical interference inside of it. Secondly, the book displays much adult content and personifies it in a way that makes you have second, third, and even fourth thoughts about the actual denotation. Being an experienced poet and author myself, I can attest that a lot of professional editing and advice was given throughout the publishing of the book. I rate and review this book as a five-star and would definitely like to see it listed on Barnes and Nobles one day; seeing it made it on the charts for technical-humor! My degree is in Information Technology/Technology Management so it brings much delight when I hear about peripherals and life combined.

Great read I look forward for more from David Fleming

This is a must read. Instead of going into a full mid life crisis buying a sports car, divorcing your wife, start dating the nanny who is half your age just buy David Flemming's book Growing up Wired and avoided this embarrassing scenario. He will take you back not only to remember his journey, but because his style of writing is unique and takes the reader through his eye's, it is a therapy for all you men seeking to wreak havoc in your lives as you can live it over and over in this great book.

Its a great read for young ladies who should read this as a cautionary tail. Even if I were like the young ladies who had the forturne or misfortune?, of running into mr. Flemmings (for ladies they all exist and will fall in love with a tree as long as it has movement in those years their hormones still mess with their young heads) It is wiser to keep your nose in your books and have unrealistic crushes on your professors.

To the rest: I fell in love with this book though I really at first put it on the back burner really wondering could this really be that interesting. I would have missed out greatly hadn't I opened up the book, even with one eye open at first. I found before I knew it I was lost in someone else's world that seldom get me so entranced that my intention of reading a couple of chapters turned into reading the entire book and saying wait...where's the next one it cannot be done really? If you are reading this Mr. Flemming you have an enchanted fan and life long reader now.

Predictable but really well-written

This was a highly anticipated book for me and I couldn't wait to get off work last night to read it. I stayed up way too late to finish it and when it was over, I was left feeling a tad let-down.

Jase's secret is obvious from page one (literally!) but luckily we don't have to wait too, too long for him to make the big reveal to Teresa. These two have chemistry from the get-go, but Jase spends 98% of the book fighting his own attraction. So when these two FINALLY get together, it's sexy, sexy, sexy...of course, Jase has to go and blow it with the obligatory break-up. (Side bar - I felt this was a bit contrived and almost thrown in as an afterthought. And even while my heart was breaking for Teresa, I wanted to throttle Jase for doing this to her!)

I hope J. Lynn does NOT write this same story from Jase's POV - if she wants to tell both sides, she should start writing dual POV novels. I will keep this in my "to read again" pile and look for the print version to read the extra scene between Cam & Avery (possibly their aborted weekend in the Poconos?).

You will not be able to put this book down

After I read this book I felt like I was cheating on Avery and Cam because OOHH MYYY GOOSSHHHH!!!! Teresa and Jase gave me life. I did not think that anything could top how beautiful Wait For You was but this book surpassed all my high expectations. I was definitely interested in this book after learning about Teresa in the first book, but I did not expect to love it as much as I did, even moreso than Wait For You.

Teresa is such a great person in this book. It is obvious that her and Jase a moment together way back when and she has wanted him ever since the scorching hot kiss they shared. But Jase refuses to give in to Teresa since she is his best friends little sister and he has a secret. Jase tries to do everything in his power to keep Teresa at arms length, but she won't give up without a fight.

For Teresa to be as young as she was, she was very smart and lovable to read from her POV.

A great find

If you could sum up Frost Hollow Hall in three words, what would they be?

A fairly traditional ghost story set in the 1880's, " Funny Scary Beautiful".

What was one of the most memorable moments of Frost Hollow Hall?

Just the casual cruelty and indifference shown to the maids by the powers that be when it suits them and the stoic little heroine.

What does Penny Rawlins bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?

A great regional accent and understatement that wouldn't come across in print. Good to have an unusual accent for a change.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Tilly lost in the snow, near death but so calm.

Any additional comments?

Will look out for this author and narrator again, a book good for all ages a nice mystery and sometimes scarier than most books directed at young ones, a nice cosy scary though.

Atmospheric, vivid and charming.

Spannend!

Ich habe am Abend angefangen zu lesen, konnte das Buch bis zum Morgen nicht aus der Hand legen. Das Buch hat mich emotional mitgerissen. Es ist urkomisch und nimmt einen mit in eine fremde Welt.
