Groundbreaking anatomical research with Dr. Frank Scali

Dr. Frank Scali graduated from Logan Chiropractic College and continued his education to receive an MD degree. His current work as an educator and researcher at the California University of Science and Medicine's School of Medicine has led to his most recent publication titled: The Posterior Atlantooccipital Membrane: The Anchor for the Myodural Bridge and Menigiovertebral Structures.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • how Dr. Scali began his work studying the craniocervical junction
  • previous publications, his work describing the myodural bridge, and the history of myodural bridge research
  • plastination technique for specimen preparation and the novel dissection approach for distinguishing tissue layers in the meningovertebral structures
  • clinical application in  both surgical and manual therapy approaches
