Our 20-year-old

daughter wants to marry this guy she met on vacation last summer. She says they

are engaged, even though he never officially proposed and has no ring. He says

he plans to buy her one when he gets his bonus from his job later this year. We

have met him a few times and he seems like a nice young man, but we don’t know

him well. She has big plans for an expensive wedding, but my husband and I are

not sure we want to spend all of this money for a wedding she wants to happen

this fall. From what she's already told me, we are already over $25k. My

husband and I were thinking of capping it at $15k. Just curious if anyone else

has been through having an impulsive kid who wants an expensive wedding. Did

you cap the cost? What ground rules did you lay down?

Hi, I wanted to write in about an issue I've been having. My wife and I have been married for about 10 years now and things are pretty standard for 10 year married couples. We often have small fights about money and how much I spend on my hobbies. I try to keep it under control but I've been known to spend around $100 adding to my collection of sports stuff. I recently checked out our shared bank statement and saw a charge of around $225. After doing some investigating in our Amazon account, I noticed that my wife had spent that money on a...how can I say this?...an adult toy. I'm not intimidated by my wife buying it, but is that much money on such an item not a bit excessive? Especially if we have fights about money already? I haven't confronted her about it yet. What should I do? Do I just let it go or do I ask her what the deal is? Or do I use this as an excuse to buy stuff for me? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I need some

help!! I've been dating this guy for 2 months. we have great conversations, i

can be myself when I'm around him, etc. hes everything I have prayed for in a

man for me and my kiddos. of course there is one down fall. he smokes the wacky

stuff. he doesn't do it all the time but it bothers me because that's something

I would never do. he had this been brought up early in the relationship I

probably would have jump ship but we're so deep in the relationship and my kids

love him. I have expressed my feelings about it. He says he does it to help his

pain level and refuses to take any type of pill. I've given him the option me

or smoke... not sure what else I need to do... can you help..

Yesterday, protesters of male circumcision stood along the Lloyd Expressway wearing blood-stained pants and holding signs. The group hopes to raise awareness on the issue but caught many people who've never thought twice about it off guard. I posted a couple of photos on Facebook, not realizing the attention it would get. I figured it was worth discussing this morning. We don't have time to talk about it at length, due to the nature of our show and FCC regulations and commercials and so on and so forth, so this is what we were able to get on the air. One call we received that we weren't able to air is also included at the end. Tonight we

went to eat a local Italian restaurant and a lady took out her entire boob at

the restaurant and fed her son for about 10 min. I'm talking the entire boob

out at the table. Feeding her kid on the side and eating spaghetti with the

other hand. The restaurant was packed. I. Could. Not. Look. Away. I understand

the hide under the blanket option but to have it all out and about at the table

was a little jarring. Is it ok to nurse all out at the table in public? I

mean, I looked it up and it is legal, but is it appropriate? At what point is

it crossing the line? I don’t have children but I can’t imagine being there

with small kids and them seeing that happen.

I’m

wondering if I’m alone on this or if other dads and parents will agree. My

daughter is 20. She’s independent, lives on her own, and takes care of herself.

I’m very proud of the young woman she is. Here’s my issue. She’s dating a man

who’s 45 years old, which is 2 years older than me. He’s a reasonably good guy

from what I can tell. They’ve been dating for a few months. He owns a small

construction company and his own home. But I can’t help but wonder what they

would possibly have in common, and if I’m being honest, I just find the age

difference kind of nauseating. I don’t like someone that old dating my

daughter, but I don’t know if I’m right feeling that way. I haven’t said

anything… yet. Thoughts?

Over the weekend my friend and I went to a

restaurant we like to pick up food and eat back at my house. I paid for it all

with my card and she was just going to give me cash for hers later. As we’re

standing there at the counter, she noticed that I didn’t write in an amount for

the tip and asked me about it. I told her I don’t tip for take-out. She freaked

out and ended up leaving a few dollars herself. I was really surprised and didn’t

know it was custom to tip for a carry out order. Who does that even go to? Isn’t

the host paid a full hourly wage? All they did was put my food in a bag and

bring it to me? I believe in tipping 20% for good service at a restaurant, but

otherwise I don’t really think tipping is necessary. She couldn’t believe I don’t

tip 20% at the nail salon and to my hairdresser too – think of how expensive

that is! What are the rules for tipping that most people agree on? Is it 20%

everywhere you go? Are you supposed to tip the retail worker that tells you

where the toilet paper in the store is? I don’t get it.

Hey guys,

I have a fun

one for you today. I’m currently 6 months pregnant with our first baby, a boy,

and like many couples my husband and I can’t agree on a name. The problem is

that he wants to name our son Bob. The name Robert runs in his family, but he

doesn’t care for it and neither do I. Bob, on the other hand, he loves, and he

feels like it still keeps with his family tradition. I just CANNOT imagine

naming my sweet baby BOB. I don’t think it’s classic or strong. To me, it’s

silly. Alexander, Charles, Benjamin, Anthony, Joseph – I’m okay with so many.

But BOB? It’s just so weird to me and I don’t want to call my son that. I know it

means a lot to him but I just can’t bring myself to agree. But, we need to

decide and move on with our lives. We both listen to the show and I threw out the

idea to let your audience decide. Do you like the name Bob, or at least think

we should name our son that out of respect for my husband, or do you dislike

the name and think we can find a better first name that I like so long as I agree

to give him the middle name Robert?

There is a

guy that lives a couple blocks from me and he is what you’d call “daddy af.”

I’m serious — fit, olive skin, dark hair, perfect beard, gorgeous smile, nice

tattoos, great fashion, everything. Recently while walking my dog he asked me

out on a date to Olive Garden. You’d think this is a no-brainer, right? No,

because he drives an old, beat-up moped. I have never once seen the guy in a

car. I don’t know if he’s broke, has a couple DUI’s, just awful taste or what

the deal is but it is

such a turn off,

to the point that I

don’t think I could date him. My roommate says I’m being shallow and could be

missing out on the perfect guy for being this way. Please back me up on this,

mopeds are a no-go, right? Has anyone else discovered their Prince Charming on

a moped? Am I a total jerk for this?

I’m really frustrated with my girlfriend at the moment and I want to know what

you think. We’ve been living together for six months (she moved into the house

I own) and without having any sort of discussion, she casually brought up at

dinner that she went and made several copies of her keys and gave them to her

parents. I feel like A) yes, we live together now, but the house is in my name

and she definitely should have talked to me about it first and B) she just

threw all our privacy out the window. I like her parents, but I don’t want them

to show up all the time unannounced. Hell, I don’t really even want them to

house sit. I know how nosy her mom is. And now there’s no way of saying that

or getting them back without me looking like the bad guy. She thinks I’m being over dramatic – that if she’s going to live there, she doesn’t need permission

to give out keys and that this is totally normal in a relationship. I don’t

agree in the slightest. We aren’t even married! What are your thoughts?
