I am the single-father of a wonderful 6 year old daughter. She recently got invited to a classmates birthday party, her first one ever. She's really excited to go and I want her to be happy. My problem is that I have social anxiety when it comes to interacting with people that I don't know. Most of the parents will be there, mainly moms and I'm afraid I won't have anything in common with them. I could drop her off, but by the time I drive all the way home, it'll pretty much be time to pick her up again. I want her to have a good time and I don't want to be the awkward dad everyone talks about. I also don't want to be on my phone the whole time and be perceived as rude. Does anyone have experience in dealing with this? Any tips or tricks?

I’m 26 and

fresh out of a dry, boring, 2-year relationship and have just been enjoying

life. Recently, I met this guy who (to be totally honest) isn’t what I’d

consider attractive

but

he’s fun to hang with and has a lot of

money. He's flown the 2 of us to a number of big cities recently to attend

major sporting events and he’s even let me borrow his Porsche on a couple

occasions. Here's where things get a little weird, he has been very transparent

that he’s been seeing numerous women -- he isn't looking for a relationship. I

was raised very traditionally and am not fully comfortable with the idea

but

my

friends and coworker have told me to just go along with it and enjoy the ride.

They say I’ve “earned the right” to some fun and excitement and that this

is a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel and experience things I never

have. I'm not sure what to do? If I listen to their advice and be one of his

"girls" for a while, does that make me a bad person or are my friends

right? Should I just enjoy the adventure? (P.S. he even mentioned possibly

buying courtside seats at the NBA finals…omg)

All of my coworkers have kids except me. I'm the only one who isn't a single parent or married with kids. I don't mind hearing their stories about what their kids did or said every day, although it's talked about a lot. You know how parents are. I like kids. Maybe my husband and I will have some one day. We haven't decided. The problem is the comments I constantly get from my coworkers can be so belittling and I'm not sure how much more I can take. If I'm tired, "I don't know what tired is." The same goes for being stressed or busy. I've had a few even go as far as to say that a life without kids "must be so unfulfilling" and suggest that I'm selfish for not having kids. Like I'm putting off real life to go out drinking and partying and traveling and whatever else we do. I feel like I can't talk about things happening in my life because they can't do so many of them with kids. Shopping for and buying clothes I want, planning several vacations each year, or going to nice restaurants throughout the week. know this seems extreme, but it's almost as if they see my life as less valuable. Honestly, I know times are changing, but I think a lot of people feel that way. I'm frustrated. I don't want to offend them, but I don't know how much more I can take. Is there any way to approach this to help them understand how I feel or is it a total lost cause? Is this just society and the world we live in?

My question

is pretty straight forward. My husband feeds the dog and cat their food using

our silverware. I have begged him to use plastic utensils, but he still uses

the same utensils our family eats with. It makes me nauseous. The thought of

using a spoon or knife that was used on their slimy, wet and possibly raw food

makes me want to throw up. For what it’s worth, commercials that show cat food

being stirred and plopped also make me feel sick. I have always had a pretty

weak stomach. My husband says it’s no big deal and that the family silverware

is more convenient. All I want to know is do more people agree with me or with

him? Is it gross or not?

I have been

dating this guy for the last year...everything has been going super well! I

stay over there all the time and we're actually looking at places right now to

move in together. 

He has this adorable dog that I just love and honestly, that's a big deal

because I don't usually even like dogs! The dog sleeps with us in the bed too

and cuddles up all night. And I know you probably think you know what I'm about

to say is the issue I'm having.... but wait. It's not. 

The dog sleeping with us is fine. It's just that sometimes when we go out and

have drinks, I pee the bed! It's really embarrassing and my doctor says I have

an overactive bladder, but even with medicine, sometimes when we drink I still

wet the bed! 

I might go to Hell for this...but I blamed the dog for it the first time it

happened. Now every time it happens, my boyfriend blames the dog and he's

embarrassed and feels bad for ME that *his dog* is always wetting the bed! Anytime

he tries to make the dog sleep in another room I tell him no, so as to not to blow my cover, and I

don’t think he’d ever do this, but he’s even made a few comments about giving the

dog up to his family when we move in together. 

I feel horrible because HE LOVED THAT DOG SO MUCH BEFORE THIS. But I am legit

TERRIFIED of telling him it's actually me having the accidents...

A guy friend

I’d been dating for a few months ghosted me for one of my best friends. This

was painful and awkward for a number of reasons, including how he assumed we’d

all stay the same friend group throughout all of this, but mostly because he

threw me aside for one of my oldest, closest friends. My friend hadn’t known

the full extent of our relationship when this happened but still wants to date

him. I’ve basically told her, “Do whatever you want to do. Just don’t expect me

to be happy about it,” which she insists is garbage because I was only briefly

dating this guy. I’ve tried to stay away from them both, but she insists I’m

immature, and our other friends want me to act like everything’s fine. Am I

wrong if I want to stay away from both of them, status quo or not?

When going to bridal shower, bachelorette party, and wedding do u owe them a gift for all 3? What about if ur in the wedding do u still owe them a gift because ur already out a ton of money to be in the wedding? So, my Sister-in-Law deleted my entire family off of FB and insta last Fall. No clue why. We were never close, but we never had an issue with each other that I know of. It's just kind of weird, because she's still "friends" with my friends and my mother-in-law, but whatever. I haven't seen her since she had done it, and I wasn't about to question her, because that sounds so juvenile. Well, this week she had a baby (my niece) and I went to the hospital to see her and my brother, and she acted like nothing happened. So, is that something I should eventually bring up? Or let it go? The same goes for anyone you know who deletes you. I've had this happen a couple times before, and when I run into the person, they act like we're BFFs. I just act like nothing happened, but it's still weird. Do I question deleters? Or is there no way to do that without looking like a teenager? Have you had to deal with this before?

I've been

with my fiance for 5 years now. We started dating in college and about 6 months

ago he proposed. He's attractive, smart, successful and is my best

friend. On top of that, he really is a "good person." He works with

various charities and non-profits and has one of the biggest hearts I know.

Well, last week my world felt like it was flipped upside down when he confessed

that he cheated on me. He bawled his eyes out on our bed and said that since

we're engaged and the wedding is quickly approaching, he wanted to be

transparent and went on to tell me how about a year into our relationship, he

hooked up with an ex of his. He says he hasn't talked to her since and feels

awful about it but he couldn't fathom the idea of marrying me without letting

me know. I don't know what to do. I've always told myself if someone were to

cheat on me, I'd move on and find someone new. I believe that he hasn't had any

contact with her but I also never would've believed he'd cheat. I've always

heard "once a cheater, always a cheater" but if he were going to

cheat again, why would he confess this to me? Please help, should I walk or

stay?

Hey guys,

My son is playing some very competitive baseball. He is 16 years old. His coach is a former professional baseball player and a former college coach. This is baseball where everyone takes it seriously, especially the coach. When my son makes a mistake on the field, the coach berates him. I'm talking in front of everyone. My son got picked off first base to end the game the other night and the coach lit into him. Everyone could hear it. Now he does this to all his players. I just think it's so wrong. I don't think a coach has the right to yell at my kid. Not like that. He told my son to his head out of his ass. I understand that it's competitive but it's just a game. I was wondering if you think I should tell the coach that he can't yell at my kid anymore. My wife thinks this is a terrible idea. She thinks that this is just how sports are when they get this competitive. I don't think the coach has the right to yell at my kid and I think he needs to know about how I feel. Do you think I should say something or just leave it alone?
