We chat with 32 year old Janosch Kowalczyk from Stuttgart, Germany fresh off his third place finish at Black Canyon which earned him that sought after Golden Ticket to Western States 2023.

Janosch describes his unique entry into ultrarunning and how he quit his job as an Engineer to pursue his dreams.

He is no stranger to challenging races having won MIUT, Mount Fuji Trail, Mozart 100 and more.
