    Jill is furious at Tim when he puts a huge hole in the floor trying to install a central vacuum in the basement. Tim is spared from her wrath when his brother Marty comes to visit -- but when Tim learns that Marty is thinking of leaving his wife just six months after she gave birth to twins, he's so upset at him that they have a terrible fight. In conversation with Wilson, Tim realizes that he's always been like a brother and a father (or frother) to Marty, but what Marty really needs now is a brother and friend (brend) who will listen to him. The next time he sees Marty, Tim sits and listens to his troubles, and is able to give him helpful advice about marriage and childrearing.

Finally, Mark fesses up to Brad and Wilson about what the problem is: he can’t see the board from the back of the class, and he probably needs glasses - which will make him look like a dork. Brad and Randy pledge to beat up anybody who makes fun of Mark for wearing glasses, which gives him the confidence to ask Tim and Jill to take him to an optometrist.

  • The Eyes Have It
    When Tim and Jill receive a letter from Mark’s teacher saying that she wishes to speak to them, it turns out that she is concerned about Mark’s attentiveness in class. Unsure what could be the cause of this uncharacteristic problem, Tim and Jill take turns trying to coax an explanation out of Mark. Initially resistant to talk, it eventually comes to pass that Mark cannot read the blackboard at school and fears getting glasses will make him look like a dork.

That day’s shoot is an on-location segment about construction cranes, and Tim’s insistence on being allowed to operate the crane results in him accidentally dropping a three ton beam on Jill’s car. Tim tries to keep this a secret from Jill until the car can be repaired, but she ultimately finds out - forcing Tim to confront his pathological obsession with cars.

  • Don’t Tell Momma
    When Tim discovers that Jill has tried to conceal a scratch in the paint job on her 1955 Chevy Nomad with nail polish, he demands that he take it into the body shop to have it repaired. 
    However, when he drives the Nomad to a location shoot of Tool Time, where they are demonstrating construction crane operation, Tim negligently takes over the crane operation and accidentally crushes the car by dropping a steel beam on it.
    Meanwhile, the turf war in the boroughs Hamtramck middle school heats up with a new opponent in Vinne Magurn (sp?) who Brad and Randy must defeat in order to retain dominance in their territory.
