In this episode, I’m talking about BTS’s “SWIM.”
Released as the title track of their 2026 album ARIRANG, this song feels like a powerful symbol of BTS’s new beginning as a group.
The word “swim” seems to carry more than its literal meaning here. It feels like a metaphor for continuing to move forward through the waves of life, without stopping.
Then on March 27, KEEP SWIMMING, a remix project built around the same song, was also released, featuring reinterpretations shaped by each of the seven members’ individual musical sensibilities.
In this episode, I talk about the background of “SWIM,” the meaning of its lyrics, and what KEEP SWIMMING adds to the story of the song.

In this episode, we explore “2! 3! 셋!)” by BTS — a song filled with love for ARMY.
Released on the 2016 album Wings, this track is one of BTS’s early and most meaningful fan songs dedicated to ARMY.
The title “둘! 셋!” is a phrase fans will instantly recognize from BTS’s greeting.
In this song, it also carries the meaning of “Let’s smile on the count of one, two, three.”
Back when BTS had not yet become global superstars, they were still a group from a small company facing criticism and pressure.
To the ARMY who kept walking beside them through those times, they sang:
“I can’t promise you only flower paths ahead,
but I hope there will be more good days.”

今回取り上げるのは、BTSの「Dimple(보조개/えくぼ)」。
#085 Dimple (보조개) — The most beautiful scar in the world, made by an angel’s little mistake
In this episode, we explore “Dimple (보조개)” by BTS.
Originally released in 2017 on the mini album
LOVE YOURSELF 承 'Her', this track is a special unit song performed by the vocal line — Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
The theme of the song is simple:
a dimple.
But in this song, that small feature is described as “illegal.”
So charming that it feels like a crime.
Existing like that should be illegal.
“Dimple” is a sweet love song with a playful yet slightly dangerous tone.
In the lyrics,
a dimple is described as “a mistake left by an angel”
the singer knows it’s dangerous, but can’t resist being drawn in
and ends up wanting to drown in that irresistible charm
Altogether, the song captures that overwhelming feeling when you fall in love and lose control.
In this episode, we talk about:
the background behind the song
the meaning of the key lyric “illegal”
the unique metaphors surrounding the dimple
and where this track fits within the LOVE YOURSELF series
It may sound cute at first, but there’s actually something a little more mature and dangerous beneath the surface.
Let’s explore the world of this song together.

タイトルの“Whalien”は、Whale(クジラ)とAlien(エイリアン)を組み合わせた言葉。
#084 Whalien 52 — The Loneliest Whale in the World Singing in Its Own Hertz
In this episode, we explore BTS’s song “Whalien 52.”
The title “Whalien” is a combination of Whale and Alien.
The song is inspired by the real-life story of the 52 Hz whale.
Because it sings at a different frequency from other whales,
its voice is said to be unheard by others—even though they share the same ocean.
In Whalien 52, BTS uses this story as a metaphor for the loneliness of raising your voice but feeling like it never reaches anyone.
Why did BTS choose this motif?
What message is hidden in the lyrics?
In this episode, we talk about the story of the 52 Hz whale, the themes behind the lyrics, and the background of BTS during the HYYH (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life) era.

今回取り上げるのは、BTSの「Embarrassed(이불킥/Blanket Kick)」。
『DARK & WILD』
#083 Embarrassed — Blanket Kick Case: My Bed Is My Punching Bag
In this episode, we’re diving into BTS’s “Embarrassed (이불킥 / Blanket Kick).”
You try too hard in front of someone you like.
Then later that night, you replay everything in your head and go, “Why did I say that…?”
And suddenly your blanket becomes your punching bag.
This song perfectly captures that “cringe-after-midnight” moment we all know too well.
There’s definitely love in it — but it’s not overly romantic.
Instead, it embraces the awkwardness, the clumsiness, and the very human side of having a crush.
It’s sweet, self-aware, and full of playful humor.
In this episode, I’ll talk about where this track sits within DARK & WILD, the charm and wit that make it so lovable, and the meaning behind the Korean word “이불킥” — literally “blanket kick.”

In this episode, we focus on BTS’s Japanese original song “Lights.”
Released in 2019, it marked their first Japanese original single since “Crystal Snow” and drew significant attention, later earning million certification in Japan.
Recently, some of you may have unexpectedly heard it again through Japanese TV commercials or broadcasts and thought, “This really is such a beautiful song.”
Carried by its warm electro-pop sound, “Lights” is more than a simple message of encouragement.
It doesn’t deny the darkness or anxiety of the night. Instead, it gently says, “Because you are there, I can keep going.”
This isn’t a story about saving or being saved — it’s about illuminating each other.
In this episode, we explore:
• What it meant as a Japanese original release
• The symbolism behind the movie theater setting in the music video
• The world “Lights” creates
• The message of shared light woven into the lyrics
Together, we reflect on why this song continues to resonate so quietly and deeply.

This episode features “24/7=Heaven,” a track from BTS’s DARK & WILD.
There’s a moment when you fall in love and the world suddenly looks brighter—like the colors turn up and everything starts to sparkle. “24/7=Heaven” captures that feeling perfectly: a warm, feel-good song packed with pure happiness.
The key phrase is: “These days, I’m Sunday.”
Just being with you makes every day feel like a day off—light, easy, and a little bit unstoppable.
As we follow the lyrics’ scenery and imagery, I’ll also share the story that made me choose this song for Episode #81—how an ARMY Bomb moment sparked it, plus a quick overview of its history.

#080 00:00 — The Moment the World Holds Its Breath
In this episode, we explore BTS’s vocal line song
“00:00 (Zero O’Clock).”
There are days when your mood sinks for no clear reason.
Nights when you feel strangely left behind.
This song gently sits with those unexplainable emotions.
Midnight in this track is not a magical recovery.
It’s a quiet line drawn at the end of the day —
a pause that allows you to stop, even just for a moment.
Not a dramatic reset. But space to breathe again.
In this episode, we look at:
The background behind the song
The meaning of “zero o’clock” — less a reset, more a boundary
Stories from the song’s creation
This is not a song about sudden optimism.
It’s a song that allows you to stand still.
When the clock turns to 00:00, a new day begins.
For anyone who feels a little tired tonight.

今回取り上げるのは、BTSの楽曲「Make It Right」。
In this episode, we take a closer look at “Make It Right” by BTS.
This song is about someone who quietly lit the way
when everything felt dark.
Because you were there,
they were able to come this far—
and that gratitude seeps into every line of the song.
A place that once felt like a desert
slowly turns into an ocean,
simply because someone stayed.
“Make It Right” is a song about remembering who supported you,
and wanting to give something back in return.
Ed Sheeran participated in the songwriting, and in this episode, we also explore how and why that collaboration came to be.
It sounds like a love song, yet it can also feel like a letter to ARMY.
That’s why this is a song you keep coming back to—
BTS’s quiet, sincere song of gratitude.

In this episode, we take a closer look at “Born Singer,” one of BTS’s true songs of origin.
Written right after their debut, this track captures the raw mix of fear and determination they carried at the very beginning—
that quiet, honest question:
“Do we really deserve to be standing here?”
The moment their dream became real, joy arrived…
but so did the weight of it all.
And still, through trembling voices, they try to say it out loud:
“I’m a born singer.”
In this episode, we explore:
This isn’t a song about success.
It’s a song about a story that has already begun—and the emotions that come with taking that very first step.
