Today we talk about how kids often will have favourites when it comes to which parent they prefer to be with and how we are able to handle not being wanted by them as much as the other parent. Adam has often felt sort of useless as a parent at times as the kids have just wanted to be with Rosie, but then as we’ve had more children, Rosie has to focus more attention on the newer ones, which helps the older kids switch focus to their father. Your kids at a young age will have a strong bond with you while they rely on your care, but as they get older, that bond will become weaker and you’ll have to adapt to losing that.

“If the kids have trashed the place, and then they ask me for a treat, I’ll be like, ‘If you tidy up, you can have your treat.’ whereas the kids would purposely trash the place just so Adam would give them the treat. So me and Adam operate in different ways.” 10:10
