  • 796 - 7 Ways To Use The Simple Present Tense
Yesterday I go to the pizza place down the block and I find out they have new owners. And I look behind the counter and they have all of these weird kinds of pizza. They even have one with pineapple and tuna. I don’t think that’s really pizza.

Hey, are you wondering why my story about yesterday uses all present verbs? You may be surprised to know that the simple present tense has seven different uses in everyday English conversation and that's what we're going to do a deep dive into today so, let's get the ball rolling.

  • 794 - Phrasal Verbs And Other Communication Phrases
I’m so glad I called up my buddy Ed the other day. He’s a buddy of mine from high school and last week, out of the blue,  he hit me up in a text message. I’ve been meaning to get in touch with him for a while, and it was so great to have the chance to catch up with him.

Using phrasal verbs is a great way to make your English conversation sound more natural.  That's why today I want to introduce a couple of phrasal verbs and other expressions that you can use, when you talk about communicating with other people.

  • 792 - 5 Ways To Use Always
Always is a commonly used word, and probably one that you learned when you first started studying English. I’m sure everyone listening today  knows that we use always when we talk about something that happens consistently.  Like,  I always drink coffee in the morning.  But what you might not know is that always can be used in five different ways in every day English conversation.

How about this? Let’s look at the word how and see all the ways you can use how to make your English sound more natural. How come? I’m glad you asked that. Because you depend on me to tell you these things. And how!

  • 789 - The End
Today, I have a podcast for your that’s all about the end. I hope you can stick around until the tail end because by the time we are at the end, you’ll know the difference between in the end and at the end. That should put an end to your confusion.

English is a language rich in idioms and figurative expressions. This makes the language both interesting and complicated at the same time. Today, let’s look at some common, conversational phrases that use the word “end.” We’ll start of by looking at at the end and in the end, two phrases that can be hard to get.

  • 788 - It’s Over And Above
Let me tell you a bit about the setup I have here. First off, I’ve got two clocks in the office. One of them is on the wall above my desk, and the other one is above the whiteboard in the teaching area. I keep a sweater over the back of my chair to put over my shoulders when it gets too cold in here from the A/C.

We can use both above and over to describe the position of something which is in a higher position than another thing. However, we use these two prepositions differently. In this English lesson, I’m going to show you how you can use above and over in your everyday English conversations.
