  • Gratitude

Gratitude. Yes this is a topic that almost is cliche but there is a reason everyone talks about it.

At the time that I am shooting this podcast, it's Thanksgiving time.

And of course this is a time when thankfulness and gratitude are in full force.

BUT just like that...it's Black Friday and we might find ourselves with full on road rage as we try to find parking at the mall....and we forget all that wonderful things we were thankful for the day before.

Over the last few months, my health has really created a lot of stress and anxiety for me...and I have found that by INCREASING the amount of gratitude I have for the things in my life has been one of the main reasons I haven't pulled my hair out.

In this podcast, I explain what I do and why and why you should too!

    7. 4: Movement = Freedom, with Dr. Logan Spangler

Today my special guest is my chiropractor, Dr. Logan Spangler.

For quite some time, I had back issues. Given that I will do what I can to avoid surgery if possible, finding a good chiropractor was super important.. After doing an MRI and discovering I had degenerative disc disease, I knew I had to get serious about getting out of pain. So my wonderful husband did some research and found Dr. Spangler. Right away I knew was in good hands as he asked me TON of questions to get my history as well as my current situation down. Since I started going to Dr. Spangler, I have not thrown my back out and I have gotten stronger in my workouts. I now go to him monthly just to make sure everything is in order.

Dr. Spanlger is a certified clinical chiropractic neurologist. And is also Titleist Performance Institute certified. He completed his undergraduate at Kansas State

University Studying biology and life sciences. He then went on to Receive his Doctorate from Parker University in Dallas. He Started his own practice 6 years ago right out of School, working with athletes and rotational sports. Dr Spangler uses his knowledge of neurology and biomechanics to help as many people as he can
achieve their goals whether that means playing their best round of golf or being able to pick up their kids.

To get more info on him and his brother, go to spanglerchiropractic.com.

You can also find them on Facebook, instagram and youtube.

I wanted to interview my chiro because for me personally, being in constant pain definitely took a toll on my happiness and mood. It’s way harder to stay positive when you are in pain all the time. And that led me down a path of weight gain which I am STIll working on losing. So if you are struggling with an injury or just don't feel quite right, schedule a consult with Spangler Chiropractic and don’t be like me and wait to you are at your wits end to do something about it!

    8. 3: 10 Ways to Work on Your Happiness

Happiness is not just going to come. A fairy is not going to just bestow it upon you on day. You have to go out a work for it! Here are the 10 ways I beleive you should go about it!

      1. Self Talk: be mindful of the negative self talk. If you wouldn't say it to a loved one, don't say it to yourself.
      2. Journal: it's good to get things out and take a sec to reflect.
      3. Feed your Mind: just like your body, the more good you give your mind, the better.
      4. Set Goals: you are either moving forward or backwards. Having something to look towards helps you get excited about life.
      5. Help Others/GIve back: there is a joy that comes from helping something that is unlike anything you can create.
      6. Let it Go: most things are not that big of a deal. Getting stressed over it won't solve the issue.
      7. Schedule joy/fun: As adults we forget to have fun. So get
      8. Workout: moving your body in whatever form of exercise you prefer is SO important for not only your physical health but your mental health as well.
      9. Eat Well: If you feel like crap, it's pretty hard to be happy.
      10. Rest: burn out can make you grumpy.
