Psalm 145

This week we will have the blessing to hear testimony from Ontoniel George and the impact Mika’s Lunch has had on his life. We will also be reminded that each of us has a story of God’s work in our lives, which is good news for us all. The great thing about learning our own testimony/story is that when we know how to see God’s story in ours, we can help others see God’s story in their lives as well.

Ecclesiastes 1: 1-14

This Sunday we continue our new summer sermon series in the book of Proverbs and Wisdom Literature called "Everyday Wisdom." We will turn our attention to another voice from the wisdom literature - the book of Ecclesiastes. This book of wisdom offers the perspective of a wise teacher who has lived a long life and seen that things do not always work out for the best. The teacher asks the hard questions and challenges simple explanations using a repeated phrase "everything is meaningless, a chasing after the wind." How does this voice help balance the "order" found in Proverbs? How does this voice fit into the broader testimony of the scriptures? How does this voice help inform our lives today? This Sunday we will wrestle with these questions. Come and join us.

This Sunday we continue our summer sermon series in the book of Proverbs and Wisdom Literature called "Everyday Wisdom." A Blessed Ordering

Proverbs 3:13-35

The Proverbs remind us that there is blessing in wisdom and living within God’s ordering of life. Do we really believe this? Are we able to rest within the boundaries God has set in place? Or do we question God’s good ordering of life? Do we trust that He knows better than us? Do we insist on pushing and changing those boundaries God has established? These are some of the questions our text will cause us to wrestle with this week.
